Max S. Bray, 62, of Dunnellon died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at his home under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. He was born to Alice and Walker Sharp on May 20, 1938, in Florence, Ala. He moved here from Mishawaka, Ind. He was a member of the VFW both in Mishawaka, Ind., and the Moose Lodge in Dunnellon. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Mishawaka, Ind.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Ann Letherman of Mishawaka, Ind.; mother, Alice Ritchey of Dunnellon; former wife, Nancy Bray of Mishawaka, Ind.; brother, William Bray of Shelbyville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Damian Max Francis and Tiffany Bray Francis, both of Mishawaka, Ind.; and great-granddaughter, Savanna Bray Francis of Mishawaka, Ind.

Gloria J. Karaffa, 68, of Lecanto died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Brentwood Health Center in Lecanto. She was born in Colonia, N.J., on Dec. 16, 1931, to George and Olga Muller. She came to this area 11 years ago from Piscataway, N.J., where she worked as an inventory analyst for Chanel Cosmetics. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Parish, Crystal River, where she was an usher.
Mrs. Karaffa was preceded in death by her brother, George Muller Jr. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Karaffa of Lecanto; four children and five grandchildren all of New Jersey. She has one brother, Elmer Muller, of New Jersey.

Theresa Ann Krolikowski, 64, of Dunnellon died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and came here six months ago from Stratford, Conn. She was a private secretary for the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring in 1999 with 25 years of service. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Beth Ann Moreland, 40, of Homosassa, a native Floridian born in St. Petersburg in 1960, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000. She graduated from Northeast High School. She was an avid fisherman, whose claim to fame was catching a grand slam off the coast of Caracas, Venezuela.
She is survived by her father, Robert J. Moreland Sr.; her stepmother, Reba A. Moreland; and two sisters, Michele M. Kennedy and Terrie R. Moreland.

Jay A. Tuttle, 76, of Dunnellon died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, in Lecanto. Born in Waterbury, Conn., he came here in 1990 from Houston, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Tuttle was a retired photo engraver employed by San Jacinto Graphic Arts, Houston, Texas. He was a member of Central Dunnellon Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving are his wife, Sophie Tuttle of Dunnellon; son, William Tuttle of Dunnellon; daughter, Deborah Vanadestine of Dunnellon; two brothers, Warren Tuttle and George Tuttle both of Waterbury, Conn.; and a sister, Mary Reichenbach of Waterbury, Conn. Mary "May" A. Cook, 91, of Hernando died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 6, 1909, to John and Margaret Kopps. She moved to the Fort Lauderdale/Coral Springs area in 1956 from her native Pittsburgh, and to Hernando in 1994 from Coral Springs. She was an executive secretary until her retirement at age 75. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Inverness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cook, in 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Lois Cook and her son, Edward Cook, both of Hernando.

Todd A. Kunkle, 80, of Bushnell died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Born in Apollo, Pa., on April 22, 1920, to David and Margaret (Christy) Kunkle, he came to Bushnell 12 years ago from there. he was the retired owner and operator of an automotive service station. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served with the 607th Tank Destroyer Unit. He was a life member of the DAV and VFW of Lake Panasoffkee, and was a recipient of two Purple Heart Awards. Other affiliations included the Apollo Masonic Lodge No. 437.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ebbie (Babcock) Kunkle; son, Frank of Pennsylvania; daughter, Delores Kunkle Pettigrew, of Ohio; sister, Betty Nickolson; brother, Roger Kunkle; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 186 of Citrus County; The American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 155, Crystal River; Women of the Moose No. 1773, Inverness; and the Order of the Eastern Star No 319, Homosassa. She was a member and communicant of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Crystal River. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Locke, Sept. 10, 1981, three sisters and two brothers.

Walter Jacob Szturma, 82, of Beverly Hills died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came to Beverly Hills 19 years ago from New Hyde Park, N.Y. He was a retired tool and die maker for Neptune Meter Company and the City of New York and retired in 1980 after seven and one-half years of service. He was a member and past president for four years of the Polish-American Social Club, Beverly Hills; member of the Polish-American Club of Pasco County, Hudson; a participant for 15 years with the Beverly Hills Surveillance; and supervisor of the Craftsmen's Guild, Beverly Hills. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills.
