Clinton Dickinson, 82, of Beverly Hills died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Bushnell. A native of New Haven, Conn., he came here from West Haven, Conn., 19 years ago. He owned a liquor store. He was an avid bowler and horseshoe player in Beverly Hills. An Army veteran, he served during World War II and survived the Battle of the Bulge. He was Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Anna, as well as three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by two daughters, Nora McNulty of Killingworth, Conn., and Katherine Shellenberger of Levittown, Pa.; a good friend, Laura Croft; and 12 grandchildren.

Wayne W. Driver, 61, of Crystal River died Nov. 2, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. He was born to Gertrude and James Junior Driver on May 12, 1939, in Holmes County. He moved here from Tavares five years ago. He was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was Protestant.
He is survived by two children, Gloria Denise Driver of Mt. Dora and Wayne W. Driver Jr., of Apopka; his mother, Gertrude Driver of Crystal River; one sister, Kathy J. Bracewell of Crystal River; two grandchildren, Brittney Driver and Amber Driver, both of Apopka; several nephews and nieces.

Thomas G. Harvey, 88, of Inverness died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Hernando Hospice House. He was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and came here 22 years ago from Miami. He was a retired sign painter. His memberships included the Poet’s Society of Spring Hill, Citrus County Art League, Hernando County Art League and South Florida Bow Hunters Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Burke of Brooksville and Karen Starling of Lake City; one son, Dennis Harvey of Bartow; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

David Leonard, 68, of Athens, Ala.
David Allen Leonard, 68, formerly of Inverness and St. Cloud, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at his residence in Athens, Ala., under the loving care of his wife, Earlene, and Hospice of Limestone County. Born in Huntington, W.Va., on Sept. 26, 1932, he came to Athens, Ala., in 1998, from St. Cloud. He lived in Inverness from 1993 to 1996. He retired from the Department of Defense as a quality control inspector with 20 years of service, and served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was Protestant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Earlene Leonard; two sons, Larry Leonard of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and Ronald Leonard of Athens, Ohio; one stepson, William Buchanan of St. Cloud; one stepdaughter, Ronnie Michelle Tharp of Inverness; his mother, Alice Annabelle Grote of Lehigh Acres; his sister, Audalla Comer of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lizzie Tharpe Love, 90, of Floral City died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inverness. Born July 16, 1910, in Wrightsville, Ga., to the late Major and Susie Tharpe, she came here 12 years ago from Ocala. She was a retired citrus fruit grader. She attended the New Testament Baptist Church in Floral City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her son, George William Love.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bob Burke of Floral City, Joyce and Bill Mackey of Georgetown, Ga., Sara Love and John Owens of Ocala; one brother, David D. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Rodriguez of Beverly Hills, whom he married in 1973.

Vernon E. Ludlow, 74, of Floral City, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at his home, under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Bloomsburg, Pa., on Oct. 13, 1926, to Richard and Alice Ludlow, he came here seven years ago from Pottstown, Pa. He was a retired mill worker in the plastics manufacturing industry for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Bloomsburg V.F.W.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Catherine (Sherdin) Ludlow; a sister, Rette Jacobs of Bloomsburg, Pa.; three stepchildren; and six grandchildren.

Kars Schonveld, 94, of Webster, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his home. He was born in Holland and came to Webster one year ago from Tampa. He was a retired bridge tender for the Burlington County, N.J., Bridge Commission for more than 19 years.

Florence ‘‘Bunny’’ Araby, 85, of Homosassa died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. She was born in Westbrook, Maine, and came here from Old Orchard, Maine. She founded and ran Bunny’s Stand near the pier in 1969 and was the owner/operator of Girard’s Laundry in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, for 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Crystal River and St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Old Orchard, Maine, and was a member of both. She was a championship candle-pin bowler at one time, enjoyed fishing, gardening, bingo, crossword puzzles and cribbage.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Chretien of Old Orchard, Maine; three brothers, Raymond Girard of New Canaan, Conn., Jean Girard of Orlando, and Leo Girard of Stamford, Conn.; two sisters, Helen Demers of Coronado, Calif., and Lucille Strmiska of Homosassa; one granddaughter, Allison Busemeyer of Old Orchard, Maine; and one grandson, Curt Chretien of Old Orchard, Maine.

Richard Florian Blend, 80, of Homosassa died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, and came to Homosassa 14 years ago from Largo. He was a retired insurance claims manager; member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Homosassa; and a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean War.

Norris Eugene Copning, 50, of Beverly Hills died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Montgomery, W. Va., he came here seven years ago from Charleston, W. Va. He was a rock miner in the mining industry; a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving in the U.S. Marines; and attended River of Life Church of Inverness. He made sure that those who were without for Christmas always would have the best that he could provide. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Relda Jean Copning of Beverly Hills; son, Joshua ‘‘Dude’’ Copning of Beverly Hills; daughter, Brenda Mayes of Beverly Hills; sister, Ruby Mayes of Beverly Hills; and granddaughter, Ramona Jean ‘‘Dudette’’ Mayes of Beverly Hills. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Dawn Copning.

Hemington Haddon Hurlstone, 86, of Inverness died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Nature Coast Lodge in Lecanto. A native of the Cayman Islands, British West Indies, he was born March 13, 1914, to Hemington and Martha Hurlstone, and moved to Florida six years ago from Hamilton, Ala. He retired as a merchant seaman and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ. His wife, Bessie Grisson Hurlstone, preceded him in death in 1990.

A native of Sao Miguel, Azores, she came here five years ago from there. She was a retired factory worker in the bottling industry. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joao DaCosta; her father, Francisco Moniz; her mother, Teresa DeJesus; three brothers, Manuel, Gabriel and Jose Moniz; and two sisters, Evangelina Moniz and Jorgina Tomei.
Surviving are two sisters, Conceicao Almeida of Toronto, Canada and Constantina Moniz of Sao Miguel, Azores; two daughters, Jorgina Machado of Citrus Hills and Maria C. Marie Vanacore, 100, of Inverness died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in Mariner Health Care Center. A native of Italy, she was born to the late Joseph and Mary Cappadona. She resided in Miami for many years before moving to Citrus County five years ago. She was a former assembly worker and a communicant at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Inverness. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Vanacore, in 1978; her daughter, Constance Jehlen, in 1995; and five brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her son, Alfred ‘‘Fred’’ Vanacore of Concord, N.H.; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Grace) Mennella of Inverness and Mrs. Charles (Gloria) Falconari of Hudson; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Ethelbelle Vanderbrook, 85, of Citrus Springs died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. A native of Westfield, Mass., she came here in 1973 from there. She was a retired clerk in the plant nursery industry. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church of Citrus Springs and a member of the Women’s Guild.
Surviving are her cousin, Mildred Johnson of Palmyra, N.Y., as well as several second cousins.

Carolyn Kearney, 82, formerly of Inverness
Carolyn L. Kearney, 82, formerly of Inverness, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, in Dover, Del. She was born in Glen Ridge, N.J., on May 28, 1918, the daughter of Carroll and Naomi Smith. She married John Kearney in 1939 and resided and raised her family in North Arlington and Highland Lakes, N.J. They moved to Inverness in 1972 where she continued to reside until May of this year. She had an early career with the RCA corporation before leaving to raise her family and continued with a second career of store security until her retirement. While in Inverness, she became very involved with the local chapter No. 232 of the Does and served as its president. Passionate about her painting, she was also a talented crafter. She enjoyed reading, cards, traveling and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kearney, in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Covey and her husband Ron of Dover, Del.; her son, Richard Kearney and his wife Lois of Cincinnatus, N.Y.; granddaughter, Tara Covey Strehle and her husband Sean and great-grandson Cody; and two sisters, Emily Jablonski and Virginia Mirabile.
The family plans a private service and internment at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice.

Paul McCubbin, 66, of Inverness
Paul Henry McCubbin, 66, of Inverness died at home Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, under the loving care of his family and Hospice. A native of Davenport, Iowa, he was born April 9, 1934, to David and Viola McCubbin. He moved here 25 years ago from Lutz. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of E-6 following 20 years of service. He served three tours in Vietnam, receiving the Bronze Star Ribbon and Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a life member of VFW Post 4337. He attended the First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jacqueline Gay McCubbin; four sons, Robert of Brooksville, David of Riverview, Charles of Defuniak Springs and Garner of Fort Knox; three daughters, Shirley of Maryland, June and Wanda both of Inverness; three brothers, Guy of Long Grove, Iowa, David Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo., and Robert of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Florence Hanson of Long Grove, Iowa, and Marilyn Homer of Pinellas Park; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and man’s best friend, ‘‘Spanky.’’

Joseph William ‘‘Joe’’ Ricco, 91, of Inverness died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born in New York City Oct 9, 1909, to Felix and Josephine (Gasparini) Ricco, he came here 25 years ago from Corona, N.Y. Mr. Ricco was a retired printer. He was a member of the Italian American Social Club, a volunteer with the city of Inverness Police Department and an avid antique collector. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mary (Krasowski) Ricco; daughter, Joanne Grossman of Forest Hills, N.Y.; sister, Mary Sarappa of Massapequa, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Maria Cho, Robert Dennehy and Joseph Dennehy; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Harrison, Samuel and Nicole.
