Peggy Ann Maltman, 52, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000. She was born in East Germany and came to Beverly Hills with her husband Jerry (Hugs the Clown) five years ago from Toledo, Ohio. She was a registered nurse at Citrus Memorial Hospital. She attended Hernando United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 18 years, Jerry Maltman, of Beverly Hills; two sons, U.S. Army Sgt. Scott Maltman of South Korea and Bryan (Lori) Maltman of Toledo; three daughters, Lisa (Gerry) Gentle of Pittsburgh, Pa., Vicky (Chris) Pelchat and Kathy Maltman, both of Toledo; two brothers; and seven grandchildren, Andy, Sean, Derrick, Alyssa, Emma, J.J. and Monica. Lucien Rousseau Sr., 79, of Homosassa
Lucien G. Rousseau Sr., 79, of Homosassa, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000. He was born in Lowell, Mass., and moved to Nashua, N.H., in 1983. In 1987, he and his wife started spending winters in Homosassa and summers in Hampton Beach, N.H. He started work at Pascalluci Construction Company as a carpenter and worked his way up to foreman and supervisor. He built the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in 1959 and became a dedicated parishioner. After leaving Pascalluci, he became the owner of Fast Fare Convenience Store on Middlesex Street in Lowell, Mass. He operated the business with his son for five years. He attended St. Jeanne D’Arc in Lowell, Mass., and College Victoriaville in Canada. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was an Archdiocesan CYO Board Member for five years, the past president of the Men’s Club and Blitz Chairman for 20 years. He was a past officer of Holy Name Society, founding member of the Parish Council, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a recipient of a Special Apostolic Blessing from Pope Pious XII and the Ad Alter Award. He received the Crystal River Civitan Award for donating more than 23 gallons of blood since being in Florida. He sponsored the Cub Scouts, Brownies and Explorer Post. He received the St. George Medal. He was honored in 1983 as Man of the Year at Notre Dame de Lourdes. He enjoyed camping, candle-making, stamp collecting, painting, antiques and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Simone Martineau Rousseau of Homosassa; son, Lucien G. Pat Braasch, 74, of Homosassa died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at home under the care of her husband and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Chicago, Ill., she came here in 1994 from St. Paul, Minn. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was a loving wife, mother and a great friend to all who knew her. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa. Elsie Carvalho, 80, of Lecanto died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto. Born in New Bedford, Mass., she came here in 1990 from Framingham, Mass. She was a homemaker, a member of Citrus Hills Country Club, an avid reader, loved gardening, and spent her life in loving care of her family. She was Catholic. Mildred Schreiber, 81, of Inverness died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000. She was born in New York City and came to Inverness 12 years ago from Danbury, Conn. She was an accomplished musician, having sung in choirs in the Danbury and Milford, Conn., areas and was the director of the A Cappella Choir in Danbury for many years. William Budge, 81, of Dunnellon
William Earl Budge, 81, of Dunnellon died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Summerfield. Born in Easton, Pa., he moved here in 1988 from Miami. He was a retired petroleum salesman for Consolidated Oil and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a lifetime member of the X-14 Seabee Veterans; Pen Argyl Masonic Lodge No. 594 in Pen Argyl, Pa.; Scottish Rite Lodge Council Consistory in Allentown, Pa.; the Rainbow Lakes Masonic Club; Morocco Shrine Temple; and the Ocala Shrine Club. He also served on the Crippled Children Committee. Anna Nielsen, 94, of Inverness
Anna J. Nielsen, 94, of Inverness died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born in Denmark on Dec. 28, 1905, to Carl and Caroline (Hulvej) Jorgensen, she came here one year ago from Dunedin. She moved to Dunedin in 1968 from Mahopac, N.Y. She was a member of the Palm Harbor Newcomer’s Club, the Eastern Star and VASSA Lodge of Pinellas and Pasco County. During World War II she and her late husband, Kaagard Nielsen, were very active in the Civil Defense in Putnam County, N.Y. She worked for many years in the Mahopac Falls Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters, Elly Harkins of New Port Richey, formerly of Inverness, and Ruth Rohrbacher of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Chas. E. Frank E. Bilyeu Jr., 84, of Ocala, a former Floral City resident, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Ocala Regional Medical Center. A native of New York City, he came to Ocala one year ago from Floral City, where he resided for 21 years. He retired as a technician from Lewis Oil Co. of Port Washington, N.Y., and served as a volunteer with the Port Washington Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Inverness. Surviving are his daughter, Betty Jane Bilyeu-Tenga of Ocala; brother, Robert of Cummings, Ga.; and one grandchild, Brenda J. Hall of Ocala. She was a member of St. Pius Parish Catholic Church. She was the mother of the late Constance L. Dolezal and wife of the late Mr. Eugene Brzeski. Marie R. Joyner, 88, of Inverness died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000. She was born in Jacksonville and came to Inverness two years ago from Marianna, where she had lived since 1936. She was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Jacksonville and retired in 1978 as public health nurse for Jackson County Health Department, which was started by her husband, Dr. Rayburn N. Joyner, in 1936. She was a member of the Marianna Pilot Club, ‘‘Crazy Eight’’ Bridge Club and Golden Age Master of the American Contract Bridge League. She was member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Marianna, and the Altar Guild of St. Luke’s and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Meals on Wheels. Surviving are a son and his wife, Rayburn and Elizabeth Joyner of Inverness; two daughters, Rena Margaret Rhodes of Winter Garden and Susan Marie and her husband, Dan McKinnon, of Gainesville; four grandchildren, John R. She was born in Shelton, Conn., and came here 22 years ago from Flushing, Long Island, N.Y. She was a retired watchmaker for the Bulova Company. She served with the American Women’s Volunteer Service during World War II. She was a member of DAV Ladies Auxiliary No. 139, Sugarmill Woods Ladies Golf Association and Sugarmill Woods Garden Club. She was a member of St. Raphael Orthodox Church of Inverness. Surviving are two sons, Stephen Paluska and Aloys Paluska both of Fairfax Station, Va.; one sister, Julia Aosowski of Shelton, Conn.; brother-in-law, Jerry Paluska; and three grandchildren. Frederick Petschke, 75, of Floral City
Frederick Junior Petschke, 75, of Floral City died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Squaw Grove, Ill., on Aug. 2, 1925, to Frederick W. and Martha (Rhode) Petschke, he came here three years ago from Lake County. He was a retired tailor who owned The Village Tailor Shop in Williamsville, N.Y., for more than 30 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he served with the 1st Division during World War II. He was a member of the Floral City VFW Post No. 7122 and a past master of the Amhurst Masonic Lodge No. 981 in Williamsville. He was Episcopalian.
