Eileen Borden, 74, of Homosassa Springs, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care in Crystal River. She was born to Luray D. and Thomas H. Borden on Sept. 30, 1925, in Maryville, Tenn. She moved to Homosassa Springs from Eaton, Ohio 30 years ago. She retired from the Homosassa Springs Attraction as a gift shop clerk. She was Protestant.
She is survived by two sisters, Ann Stephen of Homosassa Springs and Jonnie Bailey of Rontonda West.

Michael Davis, 76, of Hernando
Michael G. Davis, 76, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born to Emily and Granville Davis on October 12, 1923, in Boston, Mass. He moved here from Plymouth, Mass., 12 years ago. He retired from the Boston Police Department. He was a member of Trinity Church of Boston. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Marion E. Davis of Hernando; three children, Pamela Davis, Kim Fraser and Francis Davis, all of Plymouth, Mass.; one brother, Richard Davis, of Middleboro, Mass., and five grandchildren.

Victoria T. Terry, 83, of Crystal River died March 3, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. She was born to Maggie and Joseph Weichunas on Aug. 30, 1916, in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved here from East Lake, Ohio, seven years ago. She was Catholic. She was a housewife.
She is survived by three children, Alvina Sulecki of Rock Creek, Ohio, Earl Terry of Ohio, and Robert Terry of Crystal River; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Michael J. Whalen, 72, of Sugarmill Woods, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Born in Conception Bay, Newfoundland, he came to Sugarmill Woods 10 years ago from Pawling, N.Y. He was a retired iron worker and vice president for Norton Booth Iron Works in Bronx, N.Y. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Brooksville. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Homosassa. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Hazel Casses Whalen of Sugarmill Woods; two sons, Michael Whalen of Boulder, Colo. and Glen Whalen of Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y.; five daughters, Virginia Stoiber of Belleview, Neb., Linda Hardman of Hawley, Pa., Geraldine Sabo of Bay Shore, N.Y., Theresa Flynn of Lake Lucerne, N.Y., and Arlene Johnston of Kings Park, N.Y.; one sister, Dorothy Barclay of Rhode Island; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Margaret Gilbert, 77, of Crystal River
Margaret T. Gilbert, 77, of Crystal River died March 4, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. She was born to Hilma and Charles Tell on Oct. 17, 1922, in Manhattan, N.Y. She moved here from Nanuet, N.Y., 17 years ago. She attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she majored in home economics. She left college to join the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She and her husband met while both were in the service. The couple were married for 54 years. He was a Coast Guardsman and she was a member of the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, Chapter 78. She was Presbyterian.
She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Douglas of New York and Lawrence of Bronx, N.Y.; one daughter, Corinne Pinkos of Homosassa and six grandchildren.

Maria Catherine Meahl, 98, of Inverness died Saturday, March 4, 2000. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and came to Inverness 41 years ago from Alexandria, Va. She was a retired telephone operator for AT&T. She was a member of the Inverness Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 65. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Edward Meahl Sr., who died June 19, 1969. She was a member of the Inverness First Presbyterian Church.

He was a retired engineer with the city of West Palm Beach with 17 years of service. He was a World War II US Army Air Corps veteran. He was Protestant.

Isola Wilkinson, 79, of Dunnellon
Isola "Ike" J. Wilkinson, 79, of Dunnellon died at Avante of Inverness on Saturday, March 4, 2000. A native of Cairo, Ga., she was born on July 28, 1920, to Melton and Johnnie Bodiford. She moved to Dunnellon 26 years ago from Dunedin, where she operated the Caledesia Nursery for many years. She was a member of the Red Level Baptist Church. She was predeceased by two husbands, Roy Kinsey and Edwin Wilkinson.
She is survived by her son, Alan L. Wilkinson of Houston, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Edwina and Ray Vick of Inverness and Gwen and Dallas Young of Dunnellon; one sister, Nellie Godwin of Tampa; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

George Golding, 81, of Crystal River
George H. Golding, 81, of Crystal River died following a lengthy illness Saturday morning, March 4, 2000, at his home under the loving care of his companion and friend, Vivian D. Luttrell. He was born in Wilson, N.Y., and came here nine years ago from Lockport, N.Y. He was Protestant. Mr. Golding was the retired owner and founder of George Golding Inc. Trucking Company of Lockport, N.Y. He started the business with one used truck in 1951. The business, now still operated by the Golding family, has a fleet of 20 trucks on the road. Mr. Golding was a hard-working, dependable man whose concerns in life were that of his family and his business. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Pearl Golding, in 1991, as well as two of his grandchildren.
His surviving family includes his son, Ronald Golding, and daughters, Judith Cercone and Sharon Golding, all of Lockport, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River. A memorial service in Lockport, N.Y., will take place at a later date.

Ernest Eugene Jackman, 90, of Dunnellon died Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Lecanto. Born in Crawfordsville, Ind., he came to Dunnellon in 1970 from Michigan. Mr. Jackman was a retired mechanical engineer with Ford Motor Company. He was a U.S. Army Master Sergeant. He graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Mich.

Darlene E. Lee, 70, of Homosassa died Thursday, March 2, 2000. She was born in Columbiana, Ohio, and came to Homosassa 17 years ago from New Port Richey. Mrs. Lee was a homemaker. She was Protestant. She was a member of the Crystal River Women of the Moose, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 155 of Crystal River, and DAV Ladies Auxiliary Post 139 of Homosassa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Lee, in 1997.

She was a retired teller for the Carthage National Bank. Mrs. Sheldon moved to Hernando in 1992 from her native Carthage, N.Y. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.

Born in Ionia, Mich., she moved to Coquina Key from Diamondale, Mich., in 1977 and moved to Clearwater as a winter resident from 1987-1994. She then became a winter resident of Crystal River until 1999. She was a homemaker. She attended Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, reading, playing bingo, and shopping at antique stores.

William David McDow, 91, of Inverness, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Mariner Health Care of Inverness. Born in Anniston, Ala., on Feb. 20, 1909, to William H. and Romany (Hamblin) McDow, he came here in 1972 from St. Petersburg. Mr. McDow was a retired welder in the steel structure industry. He was Protestant.
Surviving are five sons, William L. McDow of Meeker, Colo., Franklin D. McDow of Gunnison, Colo., Gary B. McDow of St. Petersburg, Wilbur W. McDow of Lakeland, and Alvin C. McDow of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Mary M. Edwards of High Springs; one sister, Lessey Goad of Oxford, Ala.; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
