Alene W. Riddle, 76, of Inverness died on Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. She was born in Indiana, Pa., on June 29, 1923, to Vernon and Florence Hoover. She lived in Akron, Ohio, before moving to Inverness in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Riddle, and a granddaughter Cindy Riddle.
Alene is survived by five children, Harry P. Riddle Sr. and his wife Jeanie of Floral City, Ernest and wife Nancy Riddle of Hartville, Ohio, Lillie Kay and her husband Terry Walters of Canton, Ohio, Barb and her husband Joe Droche of Milwaukee, Wis., and Peggie Riddle of Columbus Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Joyce T. Roland, 64, of Yankeetown died Dec. 31, 1999, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. She was born in Sumter County, and came here in 1941. She was a computer operator for the Florida Power Corp. She was a member of the Inglis Church of God.

Celia Francis Smith, 83, of Inverness died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Mariner Health of Inverness. Born in Bay City, Mich. on Oct. 25, 1916, to Roy and Mame Billings, she came here several years ago from Michigan. Mrs. Smith was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by her two sons, Raymond Brown of Texas and Jerry Brown of St. Petersburg; one daughter, Janet Miller of Hudson; and 10 grandchildren.

Joseph R. Tenuto, 81, of Hernando died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 28, 1918, in Huntington, N.Y. to Antonio and Anna Tenuto. Mr. Tenuto was a construction contractor. He has been a seasonal resident since 1979. He was Catholic.

Patricia Wentworth, 65, of Riverhaven
Patricia Ann Wentworth, 65 of Riverhaven, Homosassa died on Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at her home. Born Jan. 23, 1934, to Elmer and Pauline Lay in Louisville, Ky., she came to this area six years ago from Baton Rouge, La. Mrs. Wentworth was a mother and homemaker, a member of the Riverhaven Women's Club and a volunteer for the Citrus County Sheriff's sub-station in Homosassa. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that any memorial tributes be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in Mrs. Wentworth's memory.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harold Wentworth Jr.; three sons, Harold A. Wentworth III of Bankok, Thailand, Peter A. Wentworth of Canton, Mich., and Patrick A. Wentworth of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Martha A. Anderson of London, Ky., and Susan Wentworth of Crystal River; one brother, Edward Lay of Louisville, Ky.; and four grandchildren.

Kenneth W. Kellogg, 90, of Beverly Hills died Tuesday Jan. 18, 2000. Born in Gourverneur, N.Y., he came to Beverly Hills 18 years ago from Stuart. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard; and was a nurse's aide for the health care industry. He was Protestant. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 155 and member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by two nieces, Hope Kachinsky of Beverly Hills and Norma Brass of Star Lake, N.Y.; several great-nephews and nieces; and his companion for 11 years, Bernice Lashbrook of Beverly Hills. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha in 1984.

Nancy Lesnett, 70, of Inverness
Nancy Jane Lesnett, 70, of Inverness died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. A native of Lakeland, she was born on April 27, 1929, to Alton Eugene and Nancy Elizabeth Campbell. She moved to Citrus County in 1966, where she has been a real estate broker and appraiser for many years. She operated the Nancy Lesnett Real Estate Agency until 1985. She was past president of the Citrus County Board of Realtors, served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and was active in the Florida Association of Realtors and their legislative committee work. She was a graduate of the Realtors Institute. Mrs. Lesnett was a most active church member in the First Baptist Church of Inverness, having served as Sunday school teacher and coordinator of several Bible study groups. She played an active leadership role in many church youth groups.
Surviving are four daughters, Nancy L. "Cookie" Plaisted of Inverness, Tena C. Bosworth of Nashville, Tenn., Jane C. "Cammie" Cooper of Floral City and Kimberly Ann MacDonald of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; one son, Alex Lesnett of Pompano Beach; one brother, Alton Eugene "Joe" Campbell of Jacksonville, Ga.; one sister, Mollie Maxson of Maitland; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patti Fleckenstein, Dec. 4, 1997.

Elnora Kathleen Owen, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at her home in Kalispell, Mont. She was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Garden City, Kan., to John and Rosa (Kaeberle) Katzdorn. Elnora married Bernard Roger Owen. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, sons and daughters, and liked to travel with her husband Bernard. She was active in her church and a lifelong member. She was a generous person; very good-hearted. In the past few years, she enjoyed embroidery and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Charles R. Owen.

Ralph A. DeRosa, 86, of Crystal River died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. He was born to Adelaide and Ralph DeRosa on Sept. 27, 1913, in Ashtabula, Ohio, and he moved to Crystal River 18 years ago from Cleveland, Ohio. He was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He joined the 107th Cavalry in 1936 and was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was called back into service during the Korean conflict and was assigned a teaching position at the Ohio State University. He retired from Corning Glass and Cook United Inc. He was a member of the Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club, a Master Mason and a member of the Aladdin Shrine Temple, and a past member of the Civitan Club. He was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Crystal River.

Arthur Sager, 95, of Homosassa
Arthur W. Sager, 95, originally from Gardiner, Maine, died in his sleep in Homosassa on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. Following graduation from Bates College, Mr. Sager competed with the U.S. Olympic Team in 1928. He joined the faculty at Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield, Mass., and was active in the life of the school until his death. While at Governor Dummer he formed Arthur Sager Associates, a consulting firm designed to teach people to speak effectively. He is the author of Speak Your Way To Success, in addition to several smaller publications.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda Sager; his three daughters (from his first marriage), Jean Sutton, Eleanor Mercer and Perry MacFarlane; his two stepchildren from his present wife, John Demars and Susan Benson; his 14 grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren.

He was an insurance agent and real estate broker and former agriculture instructor in the Inverness and Dunnellon Middle Schools. He graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. and Master's degree. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inverness. Anthony Pologruto Sr., 92, formerly of Clementon and Atlantic City, N.J., died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at his home in Inverness. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he worked as a tailor. He farmed 11 acres of land during his years in Clementon and was owner of Little Tony's Restaurant. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, he served in Battery B the 6th Field Artillery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club and was a volunteer with Citrus Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jennie (Camilli) Pologruto; loving father of Joan Knoll of Atco, N.J., Anthony of Ohio, Cabrina Palme of Louisiana, Anita Cleaver of Delaware, Lawrence of Mays Landing, N.J., and Joseph, deceased; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Retired Air Force Major David Earl Smith, 79, of Inverness died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. He was born in Schenectady, N.Y. Mr. Smith was retired after 21 years of military service.

Nell Allen, 80, formerly of Crystal River
Nell Suzanne Allen, 80, formerly of Crystal River, died Jan. 17, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Great Bend, Kan. She was born Jan. 20, 1919, at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kan., to the late Ernest E. Eppstein and Elizabeth Wesley. Nell was a graduate of Great Bend High School, then continued her education at Christian College in Columbia, Mo., and business college in Denver, Colo. She did office work in Great Bend until June 1940, when she and Charles M. Allen were married. They live in Lawrence, Kan., where she worked in the chancellor's office at the University of Kansas until 1942, when her husband earned a degree in geology.
From 1942 to 1944, they lived in various cities along the east coast of the United States, working for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. From 1944 to 1981, the Allen lived in Houston, Texas, and Bartlesville, Okla., where he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company.
Nell was active with St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Service League of Bartlesville, where Nell was president of the league in 1972.
In 1981, they retired to Crystal River, where Nell was active with St. Anne's Episcopal Church. In 1997, the couple moved to Catoosa, Okla., where her son and daughter live.
Survivors include her husband, Charles M. Allen, of Catoosa, Okla.; One son, William Patrick Allen, of Catoosa, Okla.; One daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sisk, of Tulsa, Okla., One sister, Elizabeth Gunn, of Great Bend, Kan.; and one brother, John Wesley, of Tillanook, Ore.
