Wendell F. (Skip) Brawn, 59, of Brooksville died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Exeter, Maine, spent the summers in Brunswick, Maine, and the winters in Brooksville. He was a member of the Brunswick, Maine, United Methodist Church in Millinocket. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Pine Tree Showmens Association, both in Maine, and the Independent Showmens Association in Gibsonton. He traveled the Maine Fair Circuit as Mr. and Mrs. Sausage after retiring from Maine Yankee Nuclear Power after 14 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Ada of Brooksville and Brunswick, Maine; a son, Lee of Bradley, Maine; a daughter, Wendy Gilpatrick of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Ardith Vesta of Zephyrhills, Olive Galen of Lavant, Maine, and Delores Dow of Glenburn, Maine, and three granddaughters, Kara Brawn, Morgan Brawn and Jayme Gilpatrick.

John H. Cox, 77, of Floral City died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Born in DuPont, Ga., on Feb. 17, 1922 to Brunnie and Nellie (Simmons) Cox, he came here in 1988 from Delray Beach. He was a retired roofer and served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his brother, Brunnie W. of Boynton Beach, and two sisters, Mildred Warren of Boynton Beach and Saranell Cox of Atlanta, Ga.

He moved here a year ago from Bradenton. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a semi-retired maintenance supervisor. He was Christian.

Born in Chicago on Dec. 4, 1904, to William and Jenny (Anderson) Geach, he came here in 1970 from Des Plains, Ill. He was a retired accountant with the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Northwestern University. He was a member of the Inverness Golf and Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma R. Geach, on May 22, 1989.
Survivors include: a daughter, Sharon K. and her husband Charles Cotton of Kailua, Hawaii; and three grandchildren, Jason, Kevin and Ryan Kirby.

Royal E. Alfano, 70, of On Top of the World, Ocala, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Ocala seven years ago from Avon, Conn. He was a retired electrical estimator in the construction industry. Mr. Alfano was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a former volunteer fireman in Connecticut and a former volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.

Catherine Kanter, 87, of Inverness died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at the New Horizons Senior Citizens Home. A native of Hungary, she came to Florida 26 years ago from Parma, Ohio, with her late husband of 47 years, Steve, who preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1987. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and the Point O' Woods Country Club.

George Stevenson Elsner, 86, of Beverly Hills died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Brentwood Health Care Center in Lecanto. Mr. Elsner came here four years ago from his native Dayton, Ohio. He was a retired tool and die maker for the aircraft industry. He was Protestant and a member of Polk Grove Church of VanDalia, Ohio. He was a member of F&AM Lodge No. 743 of Englewood, Ohio. He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Harrison Township Fire Department from 1952 to 1973.
He is survived by his son, Richard, and his wife Rita Elsner of Beverly Hills; daughter-in-law, Eulene Comer of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Richard Lee Elsner and Becky Jo Rittner; one great-grandchild, Jessica D. Rittner; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Norma Gillespie of Beverly Hills.

Joseph A. Jackson, 75, of Lecanto died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000. He was born in Trenton, N.J., and came to Lecanto 39 years ago from Hialeah. Mr. Jackson was the former owner and operator of Jackson Shoe Repair in Inverness. He was a member of the Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid golfer. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was the father of the late Gary S. Jackson, who died June 29, 1974, and great-grandfather of the late Kyle Jackson.

JoAnne Catherine Teel, 64, of Dunnellon died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. She was born in North Adams, Mass., the daughter of the late Alfred and Gertrude Witto. She came to Dunnellon 20 years ago from Miami. Mrs. Teel worked for the town of Dunnellon as a secretary at City Hall for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Prior to that she worked at Dunnellon High School cafeteria, library and with the Dunnellon School Board. She was Catholic. She was an avid bingo player.

Wade H. Langley, 69, of Oakland City, Ind., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Mr. Langley was a native of Lecanto, moving to Oakland City in 1975. He was born Nov. 27, 1930, and was the son of the late William Theo and Annie Harriett Langley. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Langley Well Drilling of Lecanto until he moved to Indiana, where he worked at Wirth Hospital as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Lecanto Baptist Church, but attended Friendship General Baptist Church in Oakland City, Ind. He was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Riggs.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Sue Langley of Oakland City, Ind.; two sons, Marshall H. Harvey Reid Jr., 67, of Lecanto died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born to Lula and James H. Reid on Oct. 1, 1932, in Warwick, Va. He moved here from Portsmouth, Va., seven years ago. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator and he was a federal police officer with the Department of Defense at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He worked for the Portsmouth Police Department. He was Baptist. He was a member of VFW Post 8189 of Homosassa, Fleet Reserve and the American Legion Post 155 of Crystal River.

Edward Cahill, 68, of Floral City died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Boston, Mass., on Jan. 16, 1932, he came here 12 years ago from Revere, Mass. Mr. Cahill served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the DAV and VFW Posts in Beachmount, Mass. Mr. Cahill was Catholic.
He is survived by his mother, Marie (Comeau) Cahill of Floral City; and two sisters, Pauline Holbrook of Floral City and Annette Murphy of Weymouth, Mass. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cahill, Dec. 8, 1998.

Louis Cappola, 83, of Crystal River
Louis Cappola, 83, of Crystal River died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. He was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., and moved to Bernardsville, N.J., at an early age. He was active in high school sports and was inducted into The Bernardsville High School Hall of Fame. He went on to play college football at Long Island University for two years until World War II interrupted his career. He served in the U.S. Army, serving 19 months in Iceland. After the war he transferred to Auburn University where he was a 1946 graduate.
His 39-year teaching career began at Trenton High School in Gilchrist County. He moved to Crystal River in 1952 where he taught school and coached football at Crystal River High School until 1970. One of his most memorable accomplishments while coaching The Pirates was beating The Citrus Hurricanes 11 years in a row. He was honored with an induction into The Crystal River High School Wall of Fame in 1990.
He retired as principal of the Homosassa Elementary School in 1984. He was an avid golfer and member of Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club. He was a charter member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church.

Bartow Faulkenberry, 83, of Crystal River died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. She was born to Joree and John McFarlin on Oct. 16, 1916, in Alabama. She moved here from Myrtle Beach, S.C., 11/2 years ago. She was Protestant.
She is survived by three children, Joree Cox of Crystal River, Charles Morris of Alachua and Emil Ellis of Winter Park; one brother, John McFarland of Hawthorne; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Barbara Foss, 64, of Citrus Hills
Barbara Jean Foss, 64, of Citrus Hills died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Benton Harbor, Mich., on March 27, 1935, to Chester and Phyllis (Pease) Schaus, she came here two years ago from St. Joseph, Mich. She was a retired elementary school teacher. She was a graduate of Western Michigan University, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Citrus Hills Choir. She was a volunteer in the local school system. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Paul; two sons, David Arent of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Brent Foss of Madison, Wis; four daughters, Debbie Foss of Eleva, Wis., Cyndy Harris of Cottage Grove, Ore., Sharyl Mart of Zeeland, Mich., and Terry Kessler of Olney, Ill.; her mother, Phyllis Schaus of St. Joseph, Mich.; one brother, Henry Schaus of Winter Haven; one sister, Mildred Childress of Melbourne and 14 grandchildren.
