Charlene Elizabeth "Char" Lahey
(September 19, 1955 - February 21, 2012)
Charlene Elizabeth "Char" Lahey, of Green Cove Springs, passed away on February 21, 2012. She was born Sept. 19, 1955 in Schenectady, NY to Larry and Marie Shear, and has lived in Florida since 1985. Char was a deputy sheriff for Clay County for 11 years, and then worked for Progressive Insurance Co. In addition to her family, Char's real passion was taking care of her horses. She built a beautiful barn, Seven Oaks, and could be found there morning and night. She had a large impact on the greater horse community; she fostered rescued horses through Habitat for Horses, and her charismatic involvement will be irreplaceable. Charlene is survived by her husband, Tom Lahey, and three children, Brad Lahey, Pat Lahey, and Becky Lahey, all of the greater Jacksonville area; her mother, Marie Tellier of Orange Park, sisters Laurie Robinson and husband Tom of Bunt Hills, NY, and Patty Michon and husband Greg of Middleburg, FL, two brothers, Nicholas Shear and wife Laura Lee of Elkins, AK, and Victor Shear and wife Tara of Canajoharie, NY, five additional brother and sisters-in-law, and eighteen nieces and nephews. Services will held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Middleburg. William "Bill" G. Tucker

William "Bill" G. Tucker, 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born on September 8, 1928 in Columbus, OH to parents Lawrence and Ardis Tucker. He had been a sheet metal worker and was of the Baptist faith. Bill enjoyed fishing, painting and woodworking and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Sally A. Tucker; sister, Jenna Elam (Joseph) and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Bill Clayton officiating. Robert "Bob" Hans, Jr.

Robert "Bob" Hans, Jr., 62, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. He was born on July 15, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. Bob grew-up in Cincinnati where he graduated from Greenhills High School in 1967. Bob graduated from Defiance College (Defiance, OH) in 1971. He earned a Master's Degree from Miami University (Oxford, OH) in 1974 and a Specialist's Degree in Education from the University of Florida in 1975.
Bob married Patricia Koehlke in 1974 and they moved to Gainesville, FL where Bob ran for the Florida Track Club and taught and coached at local high schools. Bob and family relocated to Clay County in 1983 where Bob spent over 20 years teaching and coaching cross-country and track and field at Orange Park High School, Middleburg High School and Ridgeview High School.
Bob was an avid runner and a beloved coach. He enjoyed spending time with his family and participating in recreational sports. Bob attended Lakeside Community Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Koehlke Hans of Middleburg, FL, and by his children, daughter Mandy Hans Moore (Sam) of Alexandria, VA and son Scott Hans of Middleburg, FL. He is also survived by: his parents, Robert J. Hans, Sr. and Betty Hans of Cincinnati; his sister, Sandra Hans Kelley (Chris) of West Chester, OH; his uncle, Clarence Hans of Greenwood, SC; his cousins, Dan Hans of Lexington, KY and Nancy Hans Yeakel of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Bob's family and friends miss him dearly.

Marvin "Pudgie" Adcock

Marvin "Pudgie" Edward Adcock Jr., 57, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007. He was born March 13, 1949 to Marvin and Barnea Adcock in Nashville, TN. He spent his entire life in Nashville before coming to Orange Park, FL four months ago to stay with his brother. He was an excellent carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Barnea Adcock of Nashville, TN. He is survived by his loving daughters, Tiffany and Candice Johnson, both of Nashville, TN; brother, Malton E. Michael Jennings Murrhee Sr.

Michael Jennings Murrhee Sr. or "Piggy" as known and loved by many, 61, passed away in his home on Sunday, April 1, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Belmore, Florida. He is a descendant of a long line of Clay County residents. He graduated from Keystone Heights High School in 1969. During his high school career, Mike spent many years participating in track and field, but most importantly football. On the weekends, Mike could be found on the lake or in the woods with his friends and family. He served as the only acting President of Cripple Creek Hunting club where four to five generations learned the art of telling tall tales and fellowshipping with a little bit of hunting. He is predeceased by his mother, Georgia L. Murrhee, and his nephew, William Scott Wilkes. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father, former Clay County Sherriff (Otto) Jennings Murrhee Jr.; his sister Delores M. Wilkes and brother-in-law Honorable William A. Wilkes; daughter, Dana L. Brock and her husband Greg; daughter, Nikki Murrhee Jolley and her husband Traé; and son Michael Jennings Murrhee Jr; two grandchildren, Tyler Jennings Brock and Jacé Barrett Jolley, and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Robert A. Lee

Robert A. Lee, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at his home in Green Cove Springs, FL after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 7, 1931 in the community of Russell, FL. Mr. Lee was a member of Russell Baptist Church where both his parents and grandparents were charter members. He was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs and the only time he lived outside of Green Cove Springs was when he was stationed in Germany while in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robbie and Effie Mae Lee, brothers, Carl & Billy Lee, all residents of Green Cove Springs. Robert retired from First Union Bank of Green Cove Springs, presently Wachovia Bank, as Vice President/Branch Manager, after 42 years of dedicated service. He worked at a time when service to the public was a top priority. His door was always open to anyone who walked in. He loved talking to people and he never met a stranger. He was a member of many organizations and unselfishly gave many hours of community service. He was a lover of the outdoors. Fishing, shrimping, and hunting were lifelong passions as well as keeping a year round garden. Mr. Lee is survived by the love of his life, Ruth Lee, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 8, 2006, daughters, Joan Lee Weeks (Jimmy), Robyn Lee Lorenz (Frank), and son, Robert Anthony (Tony) Lee, five grandchildren, Ryan Weeks, Chad Weeks, Jaime Lee Weeks, Kelsey Lorenz, Maggie Lorenz and two brothers, Earl (Eudy) and Alton (Sue) Lee, and one sister, Kathleen Redding all of Green Cove Springs, FL. The family will receive friends and loved ones at Russell Baptist Church on Friday, January 5, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Henry Mastalski, 82, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born on May 6, 1929 in Dixonville, PA to parents John and Rose Mastalski. He was a World War II Veteran, having served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Mastalski had worked as a technical engineer and was the former owner of Designer Glass in Orange Park. He moved to the local area in 1986 from Missouri. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and loved photography, gardening and his glasswork. Mr. Mastalski was the proud holder of 5 U.S. Patents. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Mary Theresa Mastalski; sons, Michael J. Mastalski (Georgetta), Charles H. Mastalski (Goldie), Kevin P. Mastalski (Donna) and James A. Mastalski (Belinda); daughters, Mary Catherine Peters (Dan) and Tina Marie Balsamo (Steven); brother, Edward Mastalski (Marie); sisters, Olga Mastalski and Wanda Severino; grandchildren, Justin, Meagan, Hannah, Lindsey, Nichole, Theresa, Adam, Steven, Jr., Rose and Michael and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Alyah and Steven Blake. William Donald Duncan, 69, of Middleburg, FL passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Born on November 12, 1937 to parents William Harold and Virginia (Timmons) Duncan in Greenville, SC, he had been a resident of the Middleburg community for the past eighteen years. Of the Baptist faith, he was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC. Mr. Duncan retired from the railroad industry and later from Gilman Building Products. A member of The Black Creek Critters, he enjoyed fishing, working in his garden, and he loved sports, especially NASCAR, but above all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Paul Pierce, 59, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012. He was born on February 10, 1953 in Quitman, GA to parents Freddie and Jane Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran having served his country in the United Stated Army. Mr. Pierce had worked as a truck driver and enjoyed playing horseshoes as well as being with his loving family and friends. James W. Tippette, Jr., 81, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Monday, January 1, 2007. He was born February 14, 1925 in Live Oak, FL to parents, James and Ruby Tippette, Sr. Mr. Tippette was a retired Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy with 30 years of service. He fought for our country in World War II, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he worked for NARF at NAS Jacksonville in avionics for 20 years. Mr. Tippette was a member of Berean Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully. He was a soul winner and a Bus Captain. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Jessie S. Tippette; children, James E. Tippette, Charles H. Tippette and Cheryl A. Latner; sister, Martha Soltis; grandchildren, Anthony Tippette, James Beasley, David Tippette, Matthew Latner, Nichole Tippette, Ashleigh Latner, Emily Latner, Troy Burnette and Nancy Moore and great-grandchildren, Charisma Beasley, James Scott Tippette, Chris Miller and Michael Miller.
