Elaina Mae Henderson, 3 month old daughter of Donald B. Henderson III and Crystal Amerson Henderson, passed away unexpectedly March 14, 2012. She was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Shirley Mae Wood, Mildred Collingwood, Donald B. Henderson Sr. and Nell Henderson. Survivors include her parents; brothers, Donald B. "Benny" Henderson IV and Thomas Kyle Henderson; grandparents, Donald B. Henderson Jr. (Freda), Dianne Elaine Davis (Jonathan), Sherry Holland, Shane Holland and Worthen Amerson; great-grandfather, Clifford "Barry" Wood; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. A visitation will be held Monday March 19, 2012 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Donald Leo Link, 58, of Middleburg, FL passed away at his residence on February 22, 2012. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 10, 1953 to Marcellus and Catherine Link and had lived in the Jacksonville and Middleburg areas his entire life. He was a member of HOG, the National Chimney Guild, was a Certified Master Mason, was active as a coach of football and baseball at Middleburg Athletic Association and Wilkerson Junior High in Middleburg. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his wife, Jamie; children, Tabetha Kite-Morgan (husband, Jason Morgan) and Nick Link; grandchildren, Wade, Maryann, Cierra and Leyna and 2 sisters. A memorial celebration will be held at the Middleburg Mooselodge, 1932 Long Bay Road in Middleburg. Reverend Charlie Hunt will officiate. Walter Cleveland Moore, Jr., 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on February 22, 1927 in South Boston, VA and worked for 20 years at Gustafson's Dairy. He served in the National Guard and really enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing. He attended the Congregational Holiness Church in Green Cove Springs. Walter was a much loved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa who will be missed and loved. He is survived by his wife, Janie Louise Moore of Green Cove Springs; 5 sons, Randy Jr., Randy, Leon and Bill Moore of Green Cove Springs and Ricky of Tennessee; 2 daughters, Debbie Blessitt of Green Cove Springs and Dale Brown of Hilliard; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Forest and Gordon of Virginia and Irving of Maryland; and a sister, Ada Fowler of Green Cove Springs. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2005 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2005. John "Marty" Martel

John "Marty" Martel, 75, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Manchester, NH to parents Joseph and Albina Martel. He served his country in the United States Navy for 30 years, retiring as Command Master Chief of Naval Air Station Cecil Field. He had lived in the local area since 1973, moving here from Warwick, RI. Mr. Martel was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church as well as the Fleet Reserve Branch #91, VFW Post #7909, Navy Airship Association and was a member of the All Navy Volleyball Team. He enjoyed golfing and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Doris C. Martel; son, Daniel John Martel (Cynthia) of Edmond, OK; daughters, Debbie Rogers (Sam) of Orange Park, FL and Leslie Gale Turner of Winsted, MN and grandchildren, Alexis, Addison and Asher Martel; Martelle and Eric Rogers and Tyler and Hunter Turner. Father Jose Kulathinal will celebrate a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Matthew's Church, 1773 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210. Thomas A. "Tom" Damon, 65, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away November 17, 2012. He was born on October 25, 1947 in New Albany, IN to parents William Thomas Damon and Mary Octavia Thomas. He served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He had retired from American Commercial Barge Line as a River Boat Captain, had lived in Jacksonville since 1980, and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Tom is survived by his daughter, Beth (Brian Doe) Damon of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Bill (Polly) Damon of Jacksonville, FL and a grandson, Riley Burch of Jacksonville, FL. He was born on March 20, 1967 in Muncie, IN to parents Freddie Roy Walker, II and Rebecca Jane Frederickson Walker. Freddie was self-employed as a Lock Smith. He loved to hunt, fish and spending time with his family and friends. Freddie will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Kenneth L. Horner, 48, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012. He was born on October 18, 1964 in Ottumwa, IA to parents Lloyd and Mary Horner. He had worked as an electrician and enjoyed football and fishing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Theresa Weibel; parents, Lloyd and Mary Horner and his brother, Lloyd Lewis Horner. John Sidney Capo, 69, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on November 1, 2012. He was born on February 26, 1943 in St. Augustine, FL to parents Ronald Victor and Evelyn Roche Capo. Sidney was a lifelong resident of Northeast Florida. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Sidney was of the Baptist faith and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He retired as a Historical Carpenter for National Parks. Sidney was an avid Horticulturist and enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He was a volunteer for the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry and was famous for his Datil hot sauce and peppers. Sidney loved family gatherings and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Jerry William; his sister, Barbara Ezelle and step-daughter, Zoeann Moss. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him dearly. Survivors include his loving wife of 10 years, Gloria A. Capo; son, Brian S. Capo (Teresa); step-son, James Lagasse; step-daughters, Linda Dixon (Cecil), Angie Saunders, Becky Clark (George) and Bernadine Gendron; brothers, Robert Capo (Kathy) and Donald Capo (Jeannette); 10 grandchildren, Emily Capo, Mallory and Nicholas Dixon, Josh Saunders, Lindsey Denmark, Amy Harding, Douglas and Chris Hill, Melody Urban and Kimberly Gendron; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyrone, Holden, Joey and Creed. Elsie Carter Manning McKinley, 94, a life long resident of Clay Hill, FL, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007. She was born September 29, 1912 in Highland, FL to Elijah and Lula Carter. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and sewing. Mrs. McKinley was of the Church of God faith and attended the Clay Hill Church of God of Prophecy. She was a loving mother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mrs. McKinley was preceded in death by sons, Harold, Bobby and baby Manning; a daughter, Judy Lee Manning and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Bell and Juanita Goosby, both of Callahan, FL, Ruby Burger (Raymond) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Katherine Thornton (William) of Americus, GA; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Elmer Merrill Dortzbach

Elmer Merrill Dortzbach, 90, of Penney Farms, FL entered into his Father's Presence on Sunday, September 16, 2012. Mr. Dortzbach was born on August 9, 1922 to parents Fred and Clara Dortzbach in Karuizawa, Japan. He lived there for the first few years until his parents and elder brother moved to Arlington, VA. Elmer was one of four children. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1942, after that he earned a BA degree from Wheaton College in 1944, continuing his ministry by attending Westminster Seminary and received an MDiv in 1949. He earned an MA in Church History in 1950 and finally finished his educational journey at the University of Colorado with a PhD in 1975. While training for the ministry he met his wife Marjorie, whom he married on June 17, 1944. After ordination in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in 1952, Elmer and Marjorie served together in four pastorates: Long Island, NY; Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA and Thornton, CO. In 1976 he began a teaching ministry that took him to Barrington College, then to RTS, in Jackson, MS and finally to Chesapeake Seminary in Baltimore, MD. Over those ten years Elmer and Marjorie continued pastoring various congregations. In 1985 he was the chaplain for a retirement community in Baltimore. Elmer is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Marjorie; children, Jeanette Kay, Karl and Karen; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Nella Faye Collins, 70, of Middleburg, FL passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 surrounded by her beloved family at The Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Born on January 3, 1936 in Waycross, GA to parents Ellis and Margaret Simerly, she moved to the Middleburg area in 1972, coming from Jacksonville. Of the Baptist faith, she loved to read her bible and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Some of her favorite things were talking on the phone, especially with her family, shopping at Wal-Mart Super Center, cooking and listening to music, but above all, her children and grand children were her greatest joys. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Crayton Ray Collins. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, George "Crayton" Collins and his wife Catina of Middleburg, Michael Dean Collins and his wife Terri of Middleburg, and Lewis Ray Collins; one daughter, Theresa Holtkamp and her husband Donald of Jacksonville; two brothers, Russell Simerly and his wife Joyce and Larry Simerly and his wife Alfredia, and one sister, Wanda Fox and her husband Billy all of Charleston, SC; eleven grandchildren, Renee, Kacie, Kaleb, Tatum, Donald Edward, Jr., Kenneth, Katrina, Chad, Ashley, Marissa, and Catie Lynn; and four great-grandchildren. She had lived in Green Cove Springs since 2005 and attended Hibernia Baptist Church. Sheila loved the sun; swimming; being with her children and her husband.
