Bruce Thompson
Bruce D. Thompson, 73, of Sebastian, died May 7, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland,
after a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1924, in
Pontiac, Mich., and moved to Sebastian in 1996 from Traverse City,
Mich.
Mr. Thompson worked for Pontiac Division of General Motors
Corp. for 35 years, prior to retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II. He was a member of
the Indian River Cremation Society.
Surviving are his wife of nine
years, Margaret; two sons, Brock
Thompson, of Kalamazoo, Mich.,
and William Thompson, of Clarkston, Mich.; one daughter, Robin
Thompson, of Denver, Cob.; and
three brothers, Norman Thompson,
of Crystal River, and Peter Thompson and Patrick Thompson, both of
Gaylord, Mich.
At the family's request, there will
be no repose or visitation.
A memorial service will be held
at a later date.

John Ingham
John Paul Ingham, 82, of Micco,
died May 9, 1998, at Integrated
Health Services of Vero Beach, after
a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 16, 1915, in
Randolph, Vt., and moved to Micco
in 1989 from Fort Pierce.
Mr. Ingham was a retired textile
chemist. He was a member of the
Lions Club in Bennington, Vt., and
the Elks Lodge in Windsor, Vt.
Surviving are his wife of 62
years, Helen; a son, John Paul Ingham Jr., of Burlington, Vt.; a daughter, Joan P. Coia, of South Venice; a
brother, Charles Ingham, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a sister, Maybelle Gagne,
of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

George James Abbruscato, 54, of
Sebastian, died unexpectedly May
12, 1998, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne.
He was born Feb. 25, 1944, in
Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian nine months ago from Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. Abbruscato was senior vice
president, chief financial officer and
chief operating officer at Indian
River National Bank, Vero Beach.
He was a member of St. Sebastian
Catholic Church, Sebastian, and
Knights of Columbus, Sebastian.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen;
two sons, George J. Abbruscato and
Bryan S. Poole, both of Memphis;
one daughter, Michelle Sanderford,
of Memphis; his parents, Marty and
Rose Abbruscato, of Tamarac; two
sisters, Carolyn Gucciardo and Lorraine Genovese, both of Coral
Springs; and three grandchildren.

15 at Cox-Gifford Funeral Home,
Vero Beach.

to Memphis Memorial Funeral
Home for funeral services and interment at Memorial Park Cemetery,

Annie Laster
Annie B. Laster, 90, of Wabasso,
died May 16, 1998, at Dixie Oak
Manor, Vero Beach, after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 25, 1907, in
Blountstown, and moved to Wabasso in 1954 from St. Lucie
County.
Mrs. Laster was a homemaker
and had worked for Graves Brothers
Packing House for 7 years. She was
a member of the First Baptist
Church of Wabasso.
Survivors include one son, James
L. Laster Jr., of Vero Beach; two
daughters, Lena Mae Chambers, of
Oklahoma City, Okia., and Faye
Knight, of Live Oak; two sisters,
Ada Jean Barrow, of Cordele, Ga.,
and Suzie Collins, of Scriven, Ga.;
two brothers, Freeman, Hall and
John T. Hall, both of Cordele; 8
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren,

Mrs. Dawson was a bookkeeper
at Anetsburger Brothers, Northbrook, Ill. for 20 years. She was a

Homemakers and Barefoot Bay
Homeowners Association. She was a
Barefoot Bay Lions Club aide.

great-grandchildren.

Joseph Roman Wagner, 73, of

He was born May 31, 1924, in

Mr. Wagner was a national sales
manager with Panasonic in Secaucus,
N.J., for 17 years. He was a U.S
Army veteran of World War II, and
received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of St. Helen
Catholic Church, Vero Beach,
Moose Lodge No. 1764, Sebastian;
Benevolent and Protective Order of
the Elks Lodge, Vero Beach, and Disabled American Veterans, a national organization.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara;
two sons, Joe Wagner, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Bill Wagner, of Columbia, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

Golf Association and St. Luke Catholic Church, all of Barefoot Bay. She
was a Sunday School teacher at St.
Luke Catholic Church.

He was born in VanWest, Ohio, and moved to

Mr. Lindenberger retired from Pantry Pride as a
grocery store manager.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Alice; a daughter,
Donna R. Tinker, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sons,
Philip Lindenberger of Laurel, Md., and Thomas Lindenberger of Punta Gorda; a sister, Helen Jane Menefce
of Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, Cecil Lindenberger, of
Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Hummer
Eleanor Lovre Hummer, 82, 1210 Periwinkle Circle, Barefoot Bay, died May 23, 1998, after a prolonged
illness.
She was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Cincinnati and
moved from Kalamazoo, Mich., to Barefoot Bay in
1982.
Mrs. Hummer was a past president of the Barefoot
Bay Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert; two brothers,
Edward Hummer and Ralph Hummer, both of Cincinnati; and one sister, Evelyn Hugo, of Cincinnati.

Thomas Young
Thomas Pierce "T.P." Young, 71, of Barefoot Bay,
died May 24, 1998, at his residence after a prolonged illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Alexandria, Pa., and
moved to Barefoot Bay in March from Bainbridge, Ga.
Mr. Young was vice president of Pan American Windows, Miami, vice president of transportation for C.E.
Building, Moultrie, Ga., and for Keller Industries, North
Miami, and was the owner/operator of Palm Builders,
Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Allandale.
Mr. Young was a veteran of World War II and the
Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Marines. He
was a life member of the Bainbridge Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post No. 4904 and a member of the Moose
Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Harriet; two
daughters, Carol Savchuk of Delray Beach and Janice
Johnson of Weston; two sons, Karl P. Young of Bainbridge, and Greg Johnson of Banner Elk, NC.; and 5
grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Strunk Funeral
Home Chapel, Sebastian, with the Rev. Paul Hauenstein
officiating. Military honors, conducted by the Sebastian
VFW Post No. 10210 and the Sebastian American Legion Post No. 189, followed the service.
