Willie Sessions
Willie Joe Sessions, 57, of Sebastian, died May 24, 1997, at his residence after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Sessions was born on Nov.
8, 1939, in Madison, and moved to
Indian River County 47 years ago
from his birthplace.
Mr. Sessions was a corrections
officer and worked at Star Florida
Prison for six years prior to retirement and was a veteran of the U.S.
Army.
Surviving are his wife of 17
years, Rosalie; one son, William Joseph Sessions, of Jackson, Ala.; four
brothers, George Hilton Sessions,
of Nashville, Tenn., Charles Herman Sessions, of Fort Pierce, James
Mitchell Sessions, of Wabasso, and
Harold Drew Sessions, of Miami;
two sisters, Bonnie Maltese, of Delray Beach, and Katherine Strampp,
of Port St. Lucie; and one granddaughter.
A memorial service will be 10
a.m. June 10 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian.
Inurnment will be in Union
City Cemetery in Branford.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford Funeral
Home.
Audie Phipps
Audie B. Phipps, 85, of Sebastian, died May 30, 1997, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born April 19, 1912, in
Clintwood, Va., and moved to Sebastian in 1986 from Scottsmoor.
Mr. Phipps was a retired retail
merchant and was owner of Haysi
Farm Supply. He was a member of
the Church of Christ, and was a
World War II U.S. Army Air Corps
veteran.
Mr. Phipps is survived by one
son, Rodger Phipps, of Sebastian;
and one daughter, Rita, Phipps, of
Montreal, Canada.
At the family's request, there
will be no repose or visitation.
A memorial service was held
June 4 at the Sebastian Church of
Christ with Bob Winton officiating.
Interment will be held at a later
date in Dickenson County, Va..

MaryLou Gagne
MaryLou Gagne, 70, of Barefoot
Bay, died May 30, 1997, at Indian
River Memorial Hospital after a
lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in
South Portland, Maine, and moved
to Barefoot Bay in 1993 from Saddle Brook, NJ.
Mrs. Gagne was a manager for
Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for
15 years, in Paramus, NJ. She attended Roseland United Methodist
Church in Roseland and was a
member of the New England Club
and Scrabble Club, both of Barefoot Bay, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She graduated from Wheaton
College in Massachusetts with a
bachelor's degree in English.
Surviving are her three daughters, Priscilla Reascos, of Vero
Beach, Martha Deneny, of Carmel,
N.Y., and Michele Laughlin, of
Barefoot Bay; a son, Stephen
Gagne, of Vero Beach; a sister, Geraldine Lemelin, of Manchester,
Conn.; two brothers, William LeClaire, of Attleboro, Mass., and
Richard LeClaire, of Dallas; and
four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June
3 at the Strunk Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian, with the Rev. Carl
Bray of Roseland United Methodist
Church officiating.
Orazio Nicolace
Orazio E. Nicolace, 78, of Sebastian, died unexpectedly May 30,
1997, at Sebastian River medical
Center, Roseland.
He was born Dec. 9, 1918, in
Providence, R.I., and moved to Sebastian eight years ago from Warwick, R.I.
Mr. Nicolace was a musicians
and performed at Riomar Bay Yacht
Club for five years.He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic
Church and American Federation
of Musicians in Providence, R.I.,
and Miami.He served five years in
the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 47
years, Lillian; one daughter, Barbara A. Jimmis, of Melbourne;
three brothers, Ernest Nicolace, of
Overland Park, Kan., Edward Nicolace, of Vero Beach, and Alfred
Nicolace, of Warwick, R.I.
A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated June 2 at St. Sebastian
Catholic Church. Interment followed in Sebastian Cemetery in Sebastian.

Leila Cain
Leila A. Cain, 90, of Palm Bay,
died June 4, 1997, at her residence
after a prolonged illness.
She was born June 14, 1906, in
Catoosa County, Ga., and lived in
Micco 76 years before moving to
Palm Bay a year ago.
Mrs. Cain wasa homemaker
and a charter member of First Baptist Church of Miccol and a charter
member of Womenof the Moose
Auxiliary Chapter No. 1764, Micco.
Surviving are six daughters,
Nancy Robinson, Caroline Kight, and Betty Sims, all of Micco, Lora
Allen, of Midway, Ga., and Rachel
Moore and Flora Baxter, both of
Palm Bay; two sons, David Cain, of
Roseland, and Edward Cain, of
Micco; 41 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Burton Stimmel
Burton "Burt" Stimmel, 69, of
Sebastian, died June 5, 1997, at his
residence after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1927, in
Findley, Ohio, and moved to Sebastian three years ago from Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Stimmel was employed for
42 years by Saeger Buick in Columbus, where he worked in the setvice department. He was also a bus
driver, for three years, for Walnut
Township, Millersport, Ohio. He
was a member of Roseland United
Methodist Church; member and
former president of the Alpha Athletic Club, Columbus; and a member of Woodworkers of Central
Ohio in Columbus, Eagles in Sebastian, Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post No. 1388 in Buckeye Lake,
Ohio, and Sebastian Craft Club. He
was a U.S. Navy veteran of World
War 11.
Surviving are his wife of 48
years, Connie; one son, Paul Stim
mel, of Columbus; two daughters,
Robbin Davis, of Atlanta, Ga., and
Theresa McClung, of Millersport,
Ohio; two sisters, Betty Sidle, of
Columbus, and Bonnie Stevenson,
of Bucyrus, Ohio; one brother, Lester Stimmel, of Hollywood; and
nine grandchildren.
At the family's request, there
will be no repose or visitation.

Kenneth Nichols
Kenneth E. Nichols, 69, of Barefoot Bay, died June 7, 1997 at his
residence after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Nichols was born March
1928, in Buffalo, N.Y.
He moved to Barefoot Bay in
1989 from East Brunswick, NJ.
He was a retired sales manager
for Bless Co. in New Jersey.
Mr. Nichols was a member of
Sebastian Moose Lodge No. 1767
and past president of the Police
AMVET in East Brunswick.
Survivors include his wife of 50
years, Mary; his son, Ken E. Nichols, of Douglasville, Ga., and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June
10 at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, Palm Bay.
Standish Crippen
Standish Foster Crippen Sr., 85,
of Westport, Mass., died unexpectedly June 7, 1997, at Hathaway,
Manor Extended Care Facility, New Bedford, Mass.
He was born Feb. 4, 1912, in
Pelham, N.Y., and lived in Roseland for 50 years.
Mr. Crippen was a self-employed land developer. He was a
30-year member of Christian Science Church, Vero Beach, a Scout
Master in Roseland and founder of
Crippen Christmas Tree Foundation, Roseland. He served in the
U.S. Army in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn,
a son, Standish F. Crippen Jr., of Sebastian a daughter, Debra C. Krall,
of Westport, Mass.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
No services have been scheduled. Donations can be made to
any children's organization.
Velma Wade
Velma Fay "Micco Mama" Wade,
67, of Micco, died June 8, 1997, at,
her home after a prolonged illness.
She was born April 9, 1930, in
Burnett, Ind., and had been a resident of Micco since 1973, moving
here from Hollywood.
Mrs. Wade worked for Walgreens Drug Store in Roseland for
five years.
Surviving are her husband of 48
years, Bill; two sons, William L.
"Butch" Wade Jr. and David Wade,
both of Vero Beach; her mother,
Hildred Winn, of Burnett; four sisters, Thelma Stultz, of Burnett, Barbara Ripple; of Brazil, Ind., Pat
Darkis and Margaret Harvey, both
of Rockville, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Marion Bishop
Marion Farrer Bishop, 81, of
Barefoot Bay, died unexpectedly
June 9, 1997, at Sebastian River
Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 28, 1915, in
Fairfield, Maine, and moved to
Barefoot Bay in 1979 from Houlton, Maine.
Mrs. Bishop was a clerk for the
city of Houlton, a member of Roseland United Methodist Church, a
former member of the Military
Street Baptist Church, Houlton,
several bridge clubs and, the Barefoot Bay Ladies Golf Association.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen
Bishop, of Vienna, Va., and David
Bishop, South Harpswell, Maine; a
daughter, Barbara Bishop, Great Island, Maine; a sister, Mildred Rvan,
of West Newton, Maine; and two
grandchildren.

Mary Peterson-White
Mary Peterson-White, 64, 624
Wedelia Drive, Barefoot Bay, died
June 4, 1997, at her residence after
a prolonged illness.
She was born Feb. 23, 1933, in
Oakland, Neb., and moved to Barefoot Bay a year ago
She was a homemaker and a
former employee of Eastern Air
Lines Credit Union in Miami for 16
years.She was also a member of
Grace Luthern Church in Miami
Springs and the order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, A.H.
"Whitey"; two sons, Michael S.
White, of Escondido, Calif., and
David H. White, of Kendall; two
brothers, Clifton Peterson, of Jacksonville, and Stanley Peterson, of

Pawtucket, R.I., and moved to Barefoot Bay in 1987 from North Providence, R.I.
Mr. Higginbotham was a retired, self-employed contractor in
the Rhode Island area.He was a
member of the Barefoot Bay New
England Club.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude; one son, WayneWilkinson,
of Hobe Sound; three daughters,
Dorothy Turgeon, of Attleboro,
Mass., Elaine McAlice,of Lincoln,

Mrs. Sensabaugh was a secretary for Lyman & Case, Hebron, for
22 years.She was a member of Hebron Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Easter
Star, Hebron.
Surviving is her husband, Stanley.
Mrs. Sensabaugh was transferred to the Criss-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Newark, Ohio, for
services and burial at Cedar Hill

Marjorie Davenport
Marjorie E. Davenport, 76, 725
Jordan Ave., Sebastian, died June
15, 1997, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
She was born May 7, 1921, in
Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to
Sebastian in 1980 from South Palm
Beach.
Mrs. Davenport was a homemaker. She was a Presbyterian and
a member of the Italian-American
Club, Sebastian.
Surviving are her husband,
James; two sons, James R. Dicks, of
Vero Beach, and Ron T. Dicks, of
Jupiter; two stepsons, James F. Davenport 111, of Pompano Beach, and
Richard Davenport, of Old Saybrook, Conn.; six grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.

Charles Mulhern
Charles Raymond Mulhern Sr., 59, of Sebastian, died June 18, 1997, at Sebastian
River Medical Center, Roseland, after a
brief illness.
He was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Sebastian 10
years ago from his birthplace.
Mr. Mulhern was the former director of
security at Windsor for nine years and was
a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church,
Sebastian.
He was associated with the Philadelphia Police Department for 11 years. He
had an associate's degree in criminology
from Temple University.He was a member
of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a
U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Mary
Ann; two sons, Charles Mulhern Jr., of Sebastian, and Michael Mulhern, of Philadelphia; his mother, Regina Seternus, of
Westville, NJ.; three brothers, John Seternus, of Wilmington, N.C., Richard Seternus, of Gloucester, NJ., and Anthony
Seternus, of Berlin, NJ.; three sisters, Eileen Brown, of Woodbury, NJ., Maureen
Seternus, of Westville, and Kathleen DePaul, of Williamstown, NJ.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 24
at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
Mr. Mulhern will be transferred to Philadelphia for further services and burial.

John Robley
John F. Robley, 86, of Sebastian, died
June 18, 1997, at Serenity Place, Sebastian,
after a prolonged illness.
He was born April 20, 1911, in Canada,
and moved to Sebastian five years ago
from Sebring.
Mr. Robley was retired from General
Motors.He was a member of Jehovah's
Witnesses, Sebastian, and was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sylvia; one daughter, Beverly Julin, of Sebastian; seven grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, there will be no
repose or visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a
later date.
Mr. Robley was a member of the Indian
River Cremation Society.
Irma Miller
Irma Cesarotti Miller, 90, of Sebastian,
died June 20, 1997, at Integrated Heath
Services in Palm Bay after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 16, 1906, in Sassocorvaro, Italy, and moved to Sebastian in
1994 from Yonkers, N.Y.
Mrs. Miller was a supervisor in the garment industry for 30 years. She was a
member of St. Denis Catholic Church, St.
Cashmier Catholic Church, Over 50 Club
and Garment Workers Union, all in Yonkers.
Surviving are her daughter, Jovce E.
Webster, of Sebastian; her son, Harry G.
Miller, of Sebastian; her sister, Ida Murphy,
of Yonkers; five grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 25
at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian.
Interment will be at a later date in St.
Joseph's Cemetery, Yonkers.

Zelda Rosenkranz
Zelda Ginsberg Rosenkranz, 84, of Roseland, died June 17, 1997, at the River
House Respite, Roseland, after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 18, 1912, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mrs. Rosenkranz was an honors graduate of the University of Florida. At age 16,
she was the youngest member of the
American League of Penwomen. She was a
writer, teacher, interior decorator, and directed programs assisting the elderly and
orphans for the Jewish Sisterhood of Jersey
City, NJ.She attended services at Kashi
Ashram, Roseland, and the Jewish Temple,
Palm Beach.
Surviving are one son, Richard Rosenkranz, of Roseland; one brother, Byron
Gilbert, of San Diego, Calif.; and one
grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 6
p.m. June 28 at Kashi Ashram, with the
spiritual director, Ma Jaya Bhagavati, officiating.
Mrs. Rosenkranz was a member of the
Indian River Cremation Society.
Mary Myers
Mary Anne Myers, 55, of Sebastian, died
June 20, 1997, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Sebastian three
years ago from Gibbstown, NJ.
Mrs. Myers was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
Surviving are her husband, Barry; one
son, Richard J. Myers, of Fort Pierce; one
daughter, Kelly Anne Long, of Gibbstown;
and one grandchild.
A Mass of Christian burial was cele brated June 24 at St. Sebastian Catholic
Church, Sebastian, with the Rev. Tomasz
Makowski officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort
Pierce.

Ruth Bridgman Riker, 86, of Sebastian,

She was born July 10, 1910, in Rochester, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian 10 years
ago from her birthplace.
Mrs. Riker was a member of Sebastian
United Methodist Church, Pelican Island
Audubon Society and Sebastian Historical
Society.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; two
sons, William B. Riker, of Pittsburgh, and
Douglas S. Riker of Holcomb, N.Y.; one
daughter, Constance Riker Stevens, of Bisbee, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.

David Atha
David Lee "Dave" Atha, 63, of Micco,
died unexpectedly June 20, 1997, at his
residence.
He was born May 14, 1934, in Dayton,
Ohio, and moved to Micco 25 years ago
from Cocoa.
Mr. Atha was a salesman in the insurance industry. He was active with Alcoholics Anonymous as a counselor.He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and
the recipient of the United Nations Service
Medal, the National Defense Service Medal
and the Korean Service Medal.
Surviving are his stepmother, Margaret
Atha, of Little Hollywood; and two sisters,
Beverly J. Pace and Jackie Schreur, both of
Jacksonville.
At the family's request, there will be no
visitation.
A private memorial service will be held
at a later date.
