ANNA GULBRANDSEN
Anna V. Gulbrandsen 72, of 13225 U.S. 1, Sebastian, died Monday Oct.17,
at Sebastian River Medical Center. She was a nine-year resident here, and
a homemaker.
Survivors are her husband, Arne; two daughters, Karen Decker, of Hampden,
Mass., and Linda A. Bemis, of Enfield, Conn., foru sisters, Elsie Carlson
and Doris Norman, both of Springfield, Conn., Helen Anderson, of Sweden,
and Bertha Huse, of Monson, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Shady Rest Mobile Park Recreational Hall.
Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, was in charge of arrngements.
ETHEL HANNA
A funeral service for Ethel J. Hanna, 69, of S.E. Abbey Circle, Palm Bay
was held at the family's convenience, after she died Saturday Oct.22, at
home.
Mrs. Hanna was a retired stenographer, and a Brevard County resident for
11 years.
Survivors are her husband, James, of Palm Bay; two daughters, Maureen
McCann, of Cambridge, Mas., and Patricia Morse, of Gainesville; two sisters,
Rosanne McLernon, of Clearwater, and one living outside the state; four
grandchildren; and a agreatgrandachild.
Fountainhead Memorial Park, in Palm Bay, is in charge ;of arrangements.

ABNER PINKERTON JR.
Abner Pyle Pinkerton Jr. 88, of North Royalton, O., a former resident of
Sebastian from 1960 to 1971, died Thursday, Oct. 20, at his home.
He was a member of the Masonic Order, the Parma Elks and the Sebastian
Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife Orral, of North Royalton; two dauaghters,
Bonnie Kepke and Dauna Piastrelli, both of Parma; a son, Richard, of
Columbus, Ohio; a brother, L.B. Pinkerto, of Abilene, Tex.; ad two sisters
Hannah Pinkerton, of Newark, N.Y. and Harriet Johnson of Victoria, Tex.
The funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 23, and burial was Monday, at Sunset
Memorial Park, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio.
JESSIE VAN KIRK
A funeral service for Jessie M. Van Kirk, 62, of 758 Vance Circle, S.E.
Palm Bay, was held Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the First Baptist Church, in
Palm Bay.
A homemaker and a Brevard resident for nine years, Mrs. Van Kirk died
Sunday, at Patrick Air Force Base Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Jack, of Palm Bay; three sone, Jeffery,
of Whittier, Calif., Jerry, of Winter Park, and James, of Palm Bay; two
brothers and four sisters living outside state; and three grandchildren.
DORIS EGAN
A funeral service for Doris Ann Egan, 47, of 2832 Altamira St., Palm
Bay was held Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church.
A programmer for computer systems, and a Brevard resident for four years,
Mrs. Egan died Thkursday, Nov. 3, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, in
Melbourne.
Survivors include two sons, Paul and Jonathan; and a daughter, Doreen,
all of Palm Bay, and five brothers living outside the state.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Peace Lutheran
Church.
LEONARD V. HORNE
Leonard V. Horne, 67, of 1105 Lantana Dr., Barefoot Bay, died Wednesday,
Nov. 2 at Indian River Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Horne was a native of Kentucky and moved to Barefoot Bay three
years ago from Middleton, Ohio.
He was a school teacher in the Franklin, Ohio school system, and retired
in 1973. He was a veteran of World War 11 and the Korean war, and served
with the original Special Services Force in the Army.
Survivors are: his wife, Edna, of Barefoot Bay; two daughters, Leslie
B. Richmond, of Fort Huachuca, Ariz, and Linda Mottett, of Catlettsburg,
Ky. Local arrangements were under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home,
of Vero Beach.
GEORGE MOORE
A funeral service for George Moore, 75, of 1027 Royal Palm Dr. Barefoot
Bay, has been held in Webster Groves, Mo.
A retired vice president of a utility company, and a Brevard County
resident for four years,Mr Moore died Thursday, Nov.3, at the Sebastian
River Medical Center.
Survivors are his wife, Marjorie, of Barefoot Bay; a daughter, Sandra
Gibbar, of New Orleans; and a brother and a sister living outside the state,
and two grandchildren.
No calling hours were scheduled locally by the Strunk Funeral Home,
which was in charge of arrangements.
ANGELA MESSANA
Angela M. Messana, 70, of 908 N.W. Cashew Circle, Barefoot Bay, died
Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
She was a native of Rochester, N.Y., and moved to Barefoot Bay eight
years ago. She was a retired bank mortgage clerk.
A Memorial Mass was held Thursday, Nov. 3, at the St. Joseph's Catholic
Church, in Palm Bay.
Survivors are her husband, John, of Barefoot Bay; a daughter, Carol
Ferreri, of Rochester; a son, Joseph G. Aurnere, of Rochester; a step-son
Victor Messana, of Macedon N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Maugaeri,
of Rochester, Mrs. Herman Paskal, Rochester, and Jrs. George Neidert, of
Miami Beach; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
At the request of the family there were no calling hours. Donations

HARRY A. BOARD
Memorial services for Harry A. Board, 75, of 773 Saint St., Palm Bay, a
retired barber, were held Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Fountainhead Memorial Park
in Palm Bay.
A Brevard County resident for one year, Mr. Board died Sunday, Oct. 30
at Holmes Regional Medical Center , in Melbourne.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Greenlee, of Palm Bay; and sister
living outside the state.
Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, was in charge of arrangements.
ROY REESE
Roy Thomas Reese, 83, of 12860 82nd Ct., Roseland, died Saturday, Nov.
5, at his residence.
He was a native of Greenscut, Ga., and had been a resident of this area
for the past 12 years. Mr. Reese was a dispatcher for Acme Cab Co.
Mr. Reese was a 32nd degree Mason, and was associated with the Shriners
and other Masonic groups. He was also a member of American Association of
Retired persons.
Survivors are two daughters, Sylvia Dorothy, of Roseland, and Faye King,
also of Roseland; a son, Donald, of New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at the Pottinger and Son Funeral
Home Chapel, in Sebastian. Burial followed in Sebastian Cemetery.
EUGENE SCHNEIDER
Eugene W Schneider, of Mesa, Ariz., a visitor to Sebastian, died Tuesday
Nov. 1, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
Schneider was a native of Minneapolis, Miss., and was a retired hearing
aid salesman. He was also a security guard for Venture Out Security Co., of
Mesa.
He is survived by his wife, Leona, of Mesa; a daugahter, Cheli R.
Schneider, Sebastian; a step-dauaghter Darrylen Bray, of Mesa; a son, Jimmy
Dale Revill, Broadway, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
At the request of the family no services were held.
HELEN B. SMITH
Helen B. Smith, 62, of 9306 12th Ct. Fellsmere, died Nov. 1, at the
Sebastian River Medical Center.
Born in Huntington, In., Mrs. Smith moved to Fellsmere 13 years ago from
Hallandale.
She was a homemaker and an active member of the Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her husband, Jess, of Fellsmere; a son, Harold
Harold Leverton, of Kirby, Ar; a stepson Larry Smith, of Miami; a
daughter, Kay Fox, of Kirby, Ar.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boyd
of Huntington, In.; and five grandchildren.
At the request of the family there were no services or visitation.
Arangements were under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home Sebastian.
MYRTLE DAY
Myrtle R. Day, 73, of 8600 U.S. 1, Sebastian, died Thursday, Nov. 11
at the Sebastian River Medical Center. She was a native of Owen Sound
Canada, and has been a resident of Sebastian for the past three years.
Survivors are her husband, Keith, of Sebastian; two brothers,
William Medley, of Shallow Lake, Ontario, and Albert Medley, of Minden
and a sister Madaline Gregory, of Smith's Falls, Ontario.
The funeral and burial was held in Owen Sound, Ontario. Local
arrangements were under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, of
Sebastian.
CLAYTON DIXON
Clayton R. Dixon, 46, of 985 18th Place, a native of Fellsmere and an
Indian River County resident all of his life, died Monday, Nov. 7, at
Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach. He was a sanitation route
driver.
Survivors are his wife, Helene, of Vero Beach, five children, Michael,
Brook, Charles and Nichole, all of Vero Beach; six brothers, Thomas, of
Ocala, Charles, of Fort Lauderdale, David, of Fellsmere, Dennis, of Sebastian,
and two brothers living outside the state; three sisters, Dorothy Sanders of
of Fort Pierce; Teressa Eggan, of Fellsmere, and a sister living outside
the state.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Southside Church of God,
in Vero Beach, with Strunk Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
LT. COL. HENRY HELWIG
Lt. Col. Henry Helwig Sr. 67, of 9707 U.S.1, Sebastian, died Sunday,
Nov. 13, at Indian River Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Milford, Conn., and had been a resident of Indian
River County for the past five years, having come here from Milford.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Sebastian; a daughter, Katherine
Wise, of Milford; two brothers, Robert, of Milford, Conn., and Harry, of
Stanford, Conn.; a sister Caroline Ritchie, of Milford; his mother,
Barbara Helwig of Milford; and six grandchildren.
The funeral and burial will take place in Milford, with local arrangements by the Strunk Funeral Home of Sebastian.
ROXIE PERRY
Roxie May Perry, 85, of 74 N. Willow St., Fellsmere, died Tuesday, Nov. 8,
at her home.
She was a native of Rosebud, Ark., and moved to Indian River County 12
years ago from Little Rock, Ark.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Farver, of Fellsmere, and
Virginia A. Michaluk, of Fullerton, Calif.; three sisters, Maurine
Calhoun, Montine Holloway, and Geneva Noe, all of Texarkana, Tex.; a
brother, Leon Brown, of Rayville, La.; seven grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service was held Friday, at Fountainhead Memorial
Park, which was conducted by the Sebastian Eastern Star Chapter. A
committal service followed. The Strunk Funeral Home, of Sebastian, was in
charge of arrangements.
MARTHA M. SHEA
Martha M. Shea, 21, of 13 Sunset Dr., Sebastian, a nursing assistant
died Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
She was a native of New Haven Conn. and had been a resident of Sebastian the past four years, having come here from Fort Lauderdale.
Survivors are an uncle, Eugene P Shell Jr., of Ormond Beach; two
cousins, Sheila Shell and Eurge P. Shell, of Pompano Beach.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. today, (Wednesday), at St.
Williams Catholic Church in Sebastian.
JOHN STRATH
John "Hugh" Strath, 69, of 408 Osprey Dr., Barefoot Bay, died Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Sebastian River Medical Center. He was a native of
Toronto, Canada, and moved here eight years ago.
Survivors are his wife, Blair, of Barefoot Bay, a daughter, Eleanor
Diamond, of Hamilton, Ontario; two sons, Alan and Derek, both of Ontario;
11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday at Roseland Methodist Church.
Donations may be made to the Roseland Church Organ Fund, or the Micco
Fire Department.
Arrangements were by the Pottinger and Son Funeral Home, of Sebastian.
ALICE YOUNG
Alice M. Young, 78 of 48 Donna Lanae, Sebastian, died Tuesday, Nov. 8.
She was a native of New York City and moved to the Sebastian area two
years ago from Milford, Conn.
Survivors are her husband, John, of Sebastian; two sons, Walter, of
Sebastian, and Donald, of Boca Raton; a daughter, Geraldine Wermann, of
Guilford Conn.; a sister, Gertrude Keenan, of Clearwater; a brother,
Charles Speer, of Long Island, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, and one great-
grandchild.
Memorial services were held Friday, Nov.11, at St. Williams Catholic
Church, in Sebastian.
Donations may be made to St. William's Catholic Church. Fountainhead
Memorial Park, Palm Bay was in charge of arrangements.
THERESA HELLER
A funeral service tor Theresa Heller, 83, of 767 S.E. Bahama St., Palm
Bay, was held in Union, N.Y.
Mrs. Heller died Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Holmes Regional Medical Center
in Melbourne. She was a homemaker and a Brevard resident for 15 years.
Survivors are a daughter, Lois Vogler, of Palm Bay; a sister living outside the state; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

CARL JONES
A Service for Carl L. Jones, 55 of Palm Bay, an employee of the Harris
Corp., was held Sunday at the Palm Bay Christian Church.
Mr. Jones was a Brevard County resident for one year. He died Friday,
Nov. 18, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, in Melbourne.
Survivors are his wife, Jennie, of Palm Bay; two sons, Rick, of Sebastian
and Steve, of Slidell, La.; and two brothers living outside the state.

BENJAMIN ABRAHAMS
A funeral service for Benjamin Abrahams, 70, of 1342 Port Malabar Blvd.
Palm Bay, a retired lithographic plate maker, was held in Richmond Hills,
N.Y.
Mr. Abrahams died Thursday, Nov. 17 at Holmes Regional Medical Center,
in Melbourne. He had been a Brevard resident for three months.
Survivors are his wife, Marie, of Palm Bay; a son Daniel, of Little Ferry
N.J.; a daughter, Dorothea Stells, of Melbourne; a sister and a brother
both living out of state, and four grandchildren. Brownlie Maxwell Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
EUGENE BRADDOCK
A funeral service for Eugene "Bo" Braddoack Sr., 68, of 462 Hibiscus Ave.
Sebastian, was held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Brownlie-Maxwell Home in
Melbourne.
Burial was held Thursday, at Southern Memorial Park, in Mimi. Mr. Braddock was an electrician and a lifetime resident of Indian River County.
He died Monday Nov. 14, at his home.
Survivors are his wife, Eleanor, of Sebastian; a son Eugene Jr., of
Longwood; a daughter, Patricia Young, of Bayview, Id., and nine grandchildren.
MARTHA BIEDERMANN
A funeral service for Martha L. Biedermann 78, of Barefoot Bay, a
retired personnel manager at McCrory's, in Philadelphia, has been held in
that city.
A Brevard County resident for 11 months, Miss Biedermann, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Palm Bay.
Survivors are four brothers, Max L. Biedermann, of Barefoot Bay, Leonard Biedermann, of Largo, and two others living outside the state.
