Walker Hall, 89, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at his home. He was born in Pike County, Ky., and was a winter resident coming from Parma, Mich., for the past 30 years.
Mr. Hall was an aircraft shop worker, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Sheriff’s Posse in Jackson, Mich., and First Baptist Church of Weeki Wachee.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; a son, Arthur of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Diana Dunn of Wiedman, Mich., and Beverly Smith of Montgomery, Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

George E. Smeltz Jr., 77, of Homosassa, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Haddonfield, N.J.
Mr. Smeltz was a retired Springstead High School teacher, Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran, worked as a general manager for K-Mart and Wal-Mart stores throughout the United States, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose and Hernando Symphony.

Mr. Showalter retired from the insurance industry, was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, president of Clearwater-Largo Independent Insurers Association and a member of Sertoma International and Nobleton Community Church.
