Lester Kelley, 74, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs.
He was born in Covington, Ala., and moved her two years ago from Whiting, N.J. He was a general foreman employed by the Electrical Cable Plant and was Baptist by faith. He was U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and was a member of the VFW Post No. 4365 in Palisades Park, N.J. and the American Legion Post No. 1 in Leonia, N.J.
Survivors include his wife, Isabella "Ella" Kelley of Spring Hill; a son, Wayne Timothy Kelley of Palisades Park, N.J.; three daughters, Donna Ann Schink of Mendham, N.J., Karen Marie Kelley of Palisades Park, N.J., and Barbara Lynn Figueroa of Ridgefield, N.J.; two brothers, Donald Kelley of Green Cove Springs and Robert Kelley of Fort Meade; two sisters, Loette Townsend of Andalusia, Ala., and Mary Terry of Evergreen, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rose Steen, 81, of Spring Hill, died Friday, March 11, 2005 Steen, Rose, 81 of Spring Hill, at Tandam Health Care of Bayonet Point.
She was born in New York City and came to this area 15 years ago from Hauppauge, Long Island, N.Y. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son Chester of Spring Hill; four daughters, Grace Lee of Spring Hill, Jane Orpheus of Hauppauge, N.Y., Linda Wojtach of Mastic, N.Y., and Carol Pereria of Bartow; two sisters, Millie Furnari of Massachusetts and Nellie Clement of New Hampshire; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-granchildren.

Robert Roy Richmond, 72, of Spring Hill, died Friday, March 11, 2005 under the care of Hospice in Brooksville.
He was born in Long Beach, Calif., and moved to this area six years ago from Washington, D.C. He was retired from the military, was a member of the VFW and enjoyed his extensive world travels.
Survivors include his sisters, Jacqueline Buchanan of Spokane, Wash., Sandra Crawford of Nesbit, Miss., and Eva May O'Brien of Oakley, Calif.

Louise T. Knapp, 76, of Brooksville, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Hernando Care Center.
Ms. Knapp was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., worked as a secretary and was of the Catholic faith.
Ms. Knapp is survived by her daughter, Maureen Barten of Spring Hill; three stepchildren; and one grandson.

Glendon F. Kierstead, 71, of Brooksville, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital.
Mr. Kierstead was born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Canada, and moved to this area three years ago from Ft. Wayne, Ind. Mr. Kierstead was a minister, having served 32 years in Paul Pietersburgs, South Africa, with 20 years service as a missionary. Mr. Kierstead was the author of two books, "High Mileage for My Model" and "In Retrospect-65 Years-the History of the Reformed Baptist Church in South Africa."
Mr. Kierstead is survived by his wife, Faith E., of Brooksville; a son, Dale Kierstead of Wilmore, Ky.; two daughters, Deirdre Halliburton of Baton Rouge, La., and Martha Ruth Bennett of Maurepas, La.; two brothers, Harold Kierstead of Botswana, Africa and Ken Kierstead of Fredrickton, New Brunswick, Canada; and 11 grandchildren.

Edna G. “Pat” Clark, 82, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Hartford, Conn., and moved to this area 16 years ago from Rockville Centre, Long Island, N.Y.
Mrs. Clark was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald T.; a daughter, Donna Klimas of Downingtown, Pa.; a son, Thomas J. Clark of Chantilly, Va.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Florence I. Brown, 91, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. She was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area many years ago from Chicago.
Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a son, Daniel R. Erickson of Spring Hill; a stepson, James A. Brown of Spring Hill; a daughter, Joan B. Allen of Pennsylvania; and eight grandchildren.

Frederick M. Fatic, 84, of Brooksville, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. He was born in Fort Myers and moved to this area 75 years ago from Fort Myers.
Mr. Fatic was a police officer for many years in Brooksville and made Sergeant in 1966. He was an auto mechanic for his family business. He also drove a truck for rock hauling and logged for pulpwood; he was a heavy equipment operator for Hernando County Mines. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy H.; two sons, Mike Fatic of Orange Park and Joel Fatic of Brandon; a brother, Russell Fatic of Orlando; and four grandchildren.

Dorothy H. Fatic, 74, of Brooksville, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She was born in Dublin, Ga., and moved to this area 74 years ago from Dublin.
Mrs. Fatic was a ticket agent for the Greyhound Bus Station, Brooksville, and a member of First Baptist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Fatic of Orange Park and Joel Fatic of Brandon; and four grandchildren.

Thomas Joyce, 83, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in County Mayo, Ireland, and moved to this area 18 years ago from New York, N.Y.
Mr. Joyce was a concrete foundation worker for a construction company.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, John of Lavallette, N.J.; a daughter, Patricia Smith of Spring Hill; a brother, Christopher of Yonkers, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary of London, England, and Nora and Ann, both of Ireland; and four grandchildren.

Paul Kofskie, 92, of Brooksville, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Tangerine Cove, Brooksville. He was born in Mt. Carmel, Pa., and moved to this area 34 years ago from New Hyde Park, Long Island, N.Y.
Mr. Kofskie was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3, New York, N.Y., and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Joyce Ann Kofskie of Brooksville; and a nephew, James Kofskie of Bloomsburg, Pa.

Gary Caple, 54, of Brooksville, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Louisville, Ky., and moved to this area several years ago from Plant City.
Mr. Caple was a salesman for the family nursery, Caple Nursery, Plant City, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his fiancée, Kim Roland of Brooksville; two brothers, Bill and Rusty, both of Plant City; a sister, Glenda Morgan of Nashville, Tenn.; his mother, Helen Caple of Plant City; a son, Tommy of Cleveland, Ohio; and a stepson, Michael Miller of Plant City.

Kay Conlon, 89, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at her home.
She was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 31 years ago from Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y. She was a retired division supervisor for New York Telephone Company. She was a volunteer at Oak Hill Hospital and a member of Ladies Elk Lodge 2582, High Point Fire Ladies, Telephone Pioneers and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael B. of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Janet Farrell of Coram, N.Y.; a sister, Elizabeth Ciacian Ruso of Boca Raton; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Felix A. Mancuso, 75, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Trapani, Sicily, Italy, and moved to Florida 20 years ago from Brooklyn, N.Y., where he was chief marine engineer for the City of New York where he retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a corporal during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spring Hill, where he served as an usher.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; two sons, Alan J. Mancuso of Spring Hill and Joseph V. Mancuso of Long Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Josephine A. Mancuso of Spring Hill and Denise Mancuso of Long Island; and a grandson.

Hoosnara "Molly" Haniph, 86, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Guyana, South America, and was a winter resident in this area from Toronto, Canada, for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker and a Muslim by faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosalie Haniph and Shirley Haniph-Baksh, both of Spring Hill, and Bonita Haniph-Ishmael of Toronto; a sister, Bibi "Babsie" Ayesha Rohoman of Montreal, Canada; and three grandchildren.

Dorothy Ann Nicotra, 60, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area three years ago from Long Island, N.Y.
Mrs. Nicotra was a CNA in the health care industry and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Palm City and Philip of Spring Hill; a brother, William Grau of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister, Marion Sitler of Long Island; and five grandchildren.

John Marion Garrett, 76, of Centerville, Tenn., formerly of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 in Nashville, Tenn. He was born in Brooksville and moved to Centerville 16 years ago.
Mr. Garrett was a block mason and Korean conflict U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his son, Johnnie E. Garrett of Pineville, La.; a sister, Margaret Smith of Brooksville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Constantino “John” Marcon, 82, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. He was born in Belluno, Italy, and moved to this area 15 years ago from Long Beach, Calif.
Mr. Marcon was a retired Naval ship consultant for the U.S. Government, having consulted, repaired and maintained battleships for the U.S. Navy. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the VFW. He co-owned and operated Sirroco’s Restaurant in Wilmington, Calif., and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include a son, John R. Marcon of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Constance Y. Marcon of Bakersfield; two sisters, Mary Dagenais and Edie Reichenberg, both of Torrington, Conn.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Raymond Redden Elliott, 75, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007. He was born in Beaverton, Ala., and moved to this area 38 years ago from Miami.
Mr. Elliott was a PBX installer for Southern Bell with 30 years of service. He was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a frogman. He was a lifetime member of Brooksville Pioneer and Communication Workers of America and a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Foster and Cindy Elliott, both of Brooksville; two sons, Raymond Elliott II and James Elliott, both of Brooksville; two sisters, Kathryn Derryberry of Brooksville and Dorothy Fortney of Jacksonville; a brother, Robert Elliott of Asheville, N.C.; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Wayne M. Cox, 79, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2005 at the CrownPointe Assisted Living Facility. He was born in Dublin, Ga., and came here two years ago from Lady Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy Richardson of Spring Hill, Melanie Fischel of Pocatello, Idaho, Barbara Patterson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Larry Travis of High Springs; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Margarite L. Smith, 95, of Spring Hill died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2005 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Hudson.
She was born in Chaptico, Md., and moved to Hernando County from St. Mary's County, Md. in 2003.
She was a beautician and a Catholic by faith.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Watson of Spring Hill; two grandsons and five great- grandchildren.

Meletus I. Long, 94, of Brooksville died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2005 at his home.
Born in Patton, Pa., he moved to Hernando County 18 years ago from Plantation Key, Fla.
He retired as a plant manager and engineer from Ti-Book Inc. in Pennsylvania.
He was a life member 4th-degree with the Knight of Columbus Council 3966 in Brockway, Pa. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Mr. Long is survived by two daughters, Martha Susa of St. Louis, Mo. and Linda Hozdic of Cleveland; a son, Paul Long of Buffalo, N.Y; and a brother, Cyril Long of Parma, Ohio. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Janet Rose Aldrich, 84, of Spring Hill, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital.
Mrs. Aldrich was born in West Haven, Conn., and moved to this area 23 years ago. Mrs. Aldrich was Episcopalian by faith, graduated from West Haven High School in 1939 and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Aldrich is survived by her husband, Harold; a son, David Aldrich of Tampa; a daughter, Mary Ann Cimmino of Spring Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

William "Bill" Bell, 49, of Brooksville died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Brooksville and attended Brooksville schools where he excelled in football, track and baseball. He owned and operated the Main Street Eatery in Brooksville. He coached little league sports for many years, was a member of the Brooksville Golf and Country Club, the Knight of Columbus and St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; two sons, Brent and Brandon, both of Brooksville; a brother, Gene Bell of Brooksville; a sister, Betsy Murphy of Wildwood; and many nieces and nephews.
