Glen A. "Sharky" Garrett, 52, of Hudson died Friday, June 11, 2004 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Andalusia, Ala., and moved to this area 46 years ago from Alabama. He was the owner of Big G Sanitation, a member of New Life Ministry and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, Glen of Hudson; a daughter, Jennifer of Brooksville; a brother, John Garrett of Hudson; a sister, Ann Netherly of Dover, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Violet "Vi" Rauber-Boose, 97, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit in Brooksville.
She was born in Galva, Ill., and moved to this area four years ago from Sarasota. She was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy J. Robbins of Homosassa; two sisters, Phyllis Olson of Altoona, Ill., and Marian Anderson of Peoria, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Catherine Serra, 84, of Hudson, formerly of Spring Hill, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at her home.
She was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 29 years ago from New York. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Louis M. of Spring Hill; two daughters, Lillian Corwin of New York and Rosemary Cherry of Hudson; a sister, Angelina Riga of New York; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gerald "Jerry" Edward Kimble, 68, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Rochester, N.Y., he came here in 1999. He owned Kimble Printing in Rochester, N.Y. for more than 15 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, a member of VFW Post 8681 of Shady Hills and a Catholic.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy P. Kimble of Spring Hill and Jeffrey M. Smith of Rochester, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Cody T. Kimble and Alicia C. Kosal, both of Spring Hill.

Charles "Charlie" B. Hubbs, 84, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he came here from Huntington, N.Y. in 1981. He was a circulation manager for Newsday in Melville, N.Y. for 25 years, an Army veteran of World War II, a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, a member and former usher of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn J. Hubbs.

Goldie Thomas, 81, of Weeki Wachee, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the Spring Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brooksville.
Born in Akron, Ohio, she came here 45 years ago from Glasgow, W. Va. She was a graduate of Morris Harvey College and the University of South Florida, was a retired school teacher and a librarian for Pinellas County schools for 36 years. She was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann of Weeki Wachee; two granddaughters, Tawney Taylor and Tara Hinson; and three great grandchildren.

Frank Moran, 77, of Spring Hill died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at his home.
He was born in New York, N.Y., he came here in 1981 from New York.
He was a retired bond trader and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 186, VFW Post 9236 and Moose Lodge Post 521.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sons. Frank Moran of Minneapolis, Minn. and Michael Moran of Worchester, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Joseph A. Goodrich, 77, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Williston Park, N.Y. He retired after 42 years of service as a pressman for the New York Daily News. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Thomas J. of Charlottesville, Va., and Joseph A. of Williston Park, N.Y.; two daughters, Kathleen A. O'Rourke of Long Island, N.Y., and Eileen L. Romanowski of California; and nine grandchildren.

Delbert Elvin Smith, 71, of Brooksville, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Hidalgo, Ill., and moved to this area 50 years ago from Newton, Ill. He retired from Florida Rock after 39 years of service as a heavy equipment operator and was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; his mother, Alice Carter and stepfather, Russell Carter of Ingraham, Ill.; a daughter, Crystal Carpenter of Haines City; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

Dolores Joan Story, 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area 16 years ago from Port Charlotte. She was a 1946 graduate of Fordson High School, Dearborn, Mich., and was a retired bookkeeper, working as an accountant in various locations. She was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ann Hamlet-Henry of Spring Hill; and several other family members.

David Herceg, 57, of Masaryktown, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Endicott, N.Y., and moved to this area six years ago from DeBary. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, a member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, Fleet Reserve, Navy Enlisted Reserve Association, and St. Mary and St. Anthony Catholic churches and was an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Eric J. Herceg of Deltona and Steven David Cooksey of McKinney, Texas; a daughter, Samantha Herceg Mascunana of Savannah, Ga.; his mother, Helen Herceg Elligett of Masaryktown; two brothers, James Herceg of Woodbridge, Va., and Richard Herceg of Kennesaw, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

He was born in Avoca, Mich., and moved to Florida 21 years ago from Wayne, Mich. He was a retired shipper for G.M. Detroit Diesel, a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, and attended Spring Hill Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; a son, Lawrence Guy Oatman of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Patricia Sue Oatman of Ontario, Canada; and his stepmother, Laura Anker of St. Clair, Mich.

Jimpsie Farmer II, 73, of Spring Hill, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga., and moved to this area a year ago from Troutville, Va. He was a retired aerospace engineer from Rockwell International, graduated from Virginia Tech with a graduate degree in civil engineering, a U.S. Navy Lt. J.G. veteran, a licensed California owner and breeder of thoroughbred horses, and a lifelong birdwatcher.
Survivors include his wife, Lela M.; and a sister, Joan Fulghum of Smithsburg, Md.

Dale S. Thompson, 80, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Atlas, Mich., and moved to this area 38 years ago from Livonia, Mich. He was a retired engineer with several aerospace guidance system companies and was an avid fisherman, woodworker and tinkerer. He was a past member of VFW Post No. 10209, the American Legion and the Lion's Club. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean of Brooksville; five sons, Ricky of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dennis of St. Cloud, Gene Peer of Jacksonville, Buddy Hogeland of Pikesville, Tenn., and Tom Hogeland of Indianatlantic; six daughters, Diane Tucker of Sevierville, Tenn., Stephanie Boyette of Jacksonville, Pat Fermier of Jacksonville, Debbie Darby of St. Augustine, Polly Thompson of Miami Springs and Mary Anna Hogeland of Hernando Beach; a brother, William Alton of Hudson; 19 grandchildren; and 12-great-grandchildren.

Louise E. Lupo, 82, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at an assisted living facility in Brooksville.
She was born in Rockaway Beach, Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 24 years ago from Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y. She was Lutheran by faith and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She retired as a secretary for the Brooklyn Steel Warehouse. She was a den mother, Girl Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher at St. Barbabus Lutheran Church in Howard Beach, N.Y. She was a member and former secretary for NARVE and a member of the Jolly Friends at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her sons, John "Jack" Lupo of Flagstaff, Ariz., Paul Lupo of Prescott, Ariz., and Gary Lupo of Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Edie Guastella of Spring Hill, Louise Pavia of Oceanside, N.Y., and Toni Lupo of Zephyrhills; a sister, Edith Bambina of Malverne, N.Y.; a brother, George Donald Candella of New Port Beach, Calif; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

Franklin G. Winchester, 54, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at his home.
He was born in Bangor, Maine, and moved to this area 22 years ago from Germany. He served 14 years in the U.S. Army and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of VFW Post No. 10209 and the American Legion No. 186. He enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife, Gerlinde; three brothers, Linwood of Peyton, Colo., and Samuel and Carl, both of Brewer, Maine; and four sisters, Marion Gray of Bryant Pond, Maine, Bonnie-Lou Spires of Arkansas and Doris Sloan and Clara Ward, both of Brewer, Maine.

He was born in Long Branch, N.J., and moved to this area nine years ago from Alto, N.M. He was a graduate of the University of Southern California and General Theological Seminary, New York, N.Y. He was a retired Episcopalian priest from California and an administrator with the Church of the Advent, San Francisco, Calif., among others.
Survivors include his mother, Martha of the Palms, Spring Hill; a brother, Skip of Loveland, Colo.; two nieces; and two grandnieces.

She retired as a senior administrative secretary in the physics department of Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, Long Island, N.Y., after 21 years of service. She was a past officer of Timber Pines Global Travel Club and volunteered for six years at Oak Hill Hospital. She attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Hank; three daughters, Donna O'Connor of Newtown, Conn., Brenda Wurtz of Sandy Hook, Conn., and Sharon Jessop of Roswell, Ga.; a son, Jeffrey of Irvington, N.Y.; a brother, Anthony DeLeva of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Donald G. Derrick, 91, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Vandling, Pa., and moved to this area nine years ago from Bradenton. He worked for the engineering department of Picatinney Arsenal, Dover, N.J. He retired from the New Jersey Tooling and Machining Institute as an instructor. He was a member of the Weeki Wachee Woodcarvers Association and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Daubner Derrick; three sons, D. George Derrick of Washington, N.J., Dann M. Derrick of Honolulu, Hawaii, and David J. Jeanne R. LaVita, 75, of Williamsville, N.Y., formerly of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Tonawanda, N.Y.
She was born in Westbrook, Maine, moved to this area 14 years ago from Inverness, and moved to Williamsville recently. She was a homemaker and an active member of St. William Catholic Church, Tewksbury, Mass.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Brouillard of Lowell, Mass., Nancy Lawicki of Williamsville and Janice Dinkin of Oahu, Hawaii; two stepdaughters, Joanne DeSomma of Inverness and Joyce Cloutier of Lowell; a sister, Rachel Britting of Maine; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dwight R. Richeson, 63, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area recently from his native Muskegon, Mich. He worked at Brunswick Corp., a bowling and billiards manufacturing company, for 37 years. He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran serving as Military Police.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; a son, Richard R. Richeson; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Dempsey Lee Birmingham, 55, of Savannah, Ga., formerly of Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in Georgia.
He was born in Victoria, Texas, and moved from this area many years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a helicopter and fixed wing pilot including two tours of duty in Vietnam as a "Dust Off" Medivac pilot. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 after serving for 25 years in the Army. He was awarded numerous medals and citations including the Legion of Merit and 38 Combat Air Medals. He graduated from Emery Riddle University with a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical studies in 1977. He was a special training instructor on Gulfstream IVs at Semi Flight in Dallas, Texas. He joined Flight Safety International as the director of pilot training in Savannah. He later became the director of new programs and helped launch the pilot training programs for the new Gulfstream G550, G500, G450, G350 and the Enhanced Vision System.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Georgia; a daughter, Caroline; and five sons, Dempsey Lee III, Dustin, Dana, Damon and Brett.

Nina H. Raeder, 74, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Vienna, Austria, and moved to this area 18 years ago from Bridgeman, Mich. She was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Willie; two sons, Richard Glenn of Sedalia, Mo., and Peter Steven Raeder of Princess Anne, Md.; two brothers, Engelbert and Franz Grundner; a sister, Grete Grundner; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
