He was born in Grafton, Mass., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Westborough, Mass. He was a retired sales manager for Babcock and Wilcox Co., Barberton, Ohio, and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his sister, Gertrude Airgood of Ft. Myers; a niece, Karen Kern of Hudson; and a cousin, Walter DeMelle of Arsland, Mass.

Josephine Augusta 'Florence' Day, 70, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in New Sweden, Maine.

John Thoeny, 79, of High Point, Brooksville, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was a native of Valzeina, Switzerland, and moved to this area 18 years ago from New Brighton, Minn. He was a retired truck driver for the J.L. Shiely Co., a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of VFW Post 724, New Brighton, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Valeria; a daughter, Roxanne of Minneapolis, Minn.; a son, Glenn of Circle Pines, Minn.; five brothers, William of Ogilvie, Minn., Matt of Great Falls, Mont., Henry of Winnemucca, Nev., Fred of Miles City, Mont., and Simeon of Circle, Mont.; a sister, Anna Vine of Circle; and two granddaughters, Brenda and Rebecca.

Jean Laird Sierchio, 74, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at her home.
She moved to this area 16 years ago from her native Kearny, N.J. She was retired from Barnett Bank and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Liberty Chapter 88 for over 55 years and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara and Suzanne Renczkowski, both of Spring Hill; two sons, Scott Kuebler of Largo and Mark Kuebler of New Port Richey; a sister, Margaret Manning of Kearny; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was an inspector for General Motors, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Moose Lodge 1676, Brooksville, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville, and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; five sons, Gerald of Santa Rosa, Calif., John T. of Vancouver, Wash., William of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Don and Dean, both of Sandusky; three daughters, Mary Lee Warren of Sandusky, Linda McGrantham of Brooksville and Cynthia Tardif of Santa Rosa; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Galway, N.Y. She was retired from the Postal Service after 30 years of service, 15 years as clerk and 15 years as Postmaster, and was a member of United Methodist Church, Galway.
Survivors include a son, Mark of Galway; a daughter, Donna Sowle of Galway; a brother, Raymond J. Kimball of Corinth, N.Y.; a sister, Ella Sherman of Galway; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a retired merchandising manager of a greeting card company, a volunteer at Oak Hill Hospital, Stage West Theatre and RSVP, treasurer for the Humane Society of Hernando County, founder of Compassion Spay/Neuter, Inc., president of the Square Dance Club of Brookridge and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
