Richard R. Broder, 81, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center in Brooksville.
He was born in Fayette, Ohio and moved to this area 17 years ago from Detroit, Mich. He was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 9507 in Madison Heights, Mich., Broder's Lodge in Detroit, Mich., and several other lodges. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Spring Hill; a step-daughter, Rose Marie Grubba of Brooksville; two brothers, Paul of Dryden, Mich., and Jack of Madison Heights, Mich.; a sister, Alice Broder of North Miami Beach; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Ilko Ciopyk, 80, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at Heather Hill Health Care in New Port Richey.
He was born in Ukraine and moved to this area 12 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church. As a young man he came to the United States from Ukraine during World War II where he had become forced labor for the German army. He left Germany after paying his way by becoming a lumberjack. He was a mechanic for the Hemstead Bus Co. and then retired as a maintenance worker for the Nassau County Hemstead Water Department.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Ciopyk of Spring Hill; two sons, Zenon of Clyde, N.Y. and Michael of Pleasenton, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Evelyn Smith Lochridge, 89, of Ocala, formerly of Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Sylvia's House under hospice care.
She was born in Harrison, Ark., before moving to Brooksville five years ago from Dalton, Ga. She moved to Ocala a year ago. She was Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Dalton, Ga. She was a salesperson at Bon Ton Apparel in Dalton, Ga., for 21 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Smith, Dorothy Lochridge, Jackie DeFoor and Sharon Campbell; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Merion Edward "M.E." Foltz, 91, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Heartland of Brooksville.
He was born in Richfield, Pa., and moved to this area 31 years ago from Richfield. He had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. in Potter County, Pa. camp. He had been self-employed at M.E. Foltz Mobile Home Sales, in Port Matilda, Pa. and Florida for many years. He had previously owned and operated M.E. Foltz Auto Sales, Pine Grove Mills, Pa. for 22 years. Following retirement, he bought and sold produce at various flea markets in Florida. He was a member of Brookside Wesleyan Church, Julian, Pa., and attended Brooksville Wesleyan Church, Brooksville.

A Vietnam veteran, he was a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a full colonel after 30 years of active service.

He came to this area four years ago from Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was a retired metallurgical engineer and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Hill-Schuren of Brooksville; five children, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren in the Netherlands; and one stepson, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren in the U.S.
