Patricia (Cornett) Hickman, 66, of Brooksville, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at home.
She was born in Pikeville, Ky., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Louisville, Ky. She was a graduate of St. Bernard High School, Cincinnati, Ohio, Class of 1956, and a retired secretary for the Veterans Administration. She was a family manager, president of the Navy Wives Association, Mayport, Fla., and past president of the Colombia Ladies Club of Louisville. As a travel companion to her husband, their many adventures included incarceration by a Cuban gunboat, shipwrecked on a deserted island in the Bahamas, rescued by the Coast Guard, and survived an Indian siege in the wilds of Canada.
Survivors include her husband, Michael A.; two sons, Michael and Patrick, both of Louisville; and a grandson.

Roland "Pee Wee" McLaughlin, 74, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Neola, W.Va., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Covington, Va. He was a retired paper roll inspector with West Vaco Corporation, former owner/operator of the Cavalier Restaurant, Covington, a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of Curtis A. Smith VFW Post 1033, VFW and AFL-CIO, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 610, League of Older Americans, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 23, and American Legion, and a Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include a brother, Julian McLaughlin of Roanoke, Va.; a sister, Mary Etta Ergenbright of Covington; and his companion, Kathy Sue George of Covington, Virginia and Spring Hill.

Florence Virginia "Jenny" Mitchell, 63 of Spring Hill, died Saturday, June 26, at Hospice of Brooksville. She was formerly of Gulfport but attended local area schools.
Her grandparents Walter Robert and Maggie Slaughter preceded her in death. The Roberts and Slaughters are recorded as direct descendents of the original post Civil War settlers of Gulfport.
She is survived by her husband Lowell; three daughters, Cindy Taylor, Tina Thomas and Linda Korick all of Brooksville; two sons Ronald "Buddy" Marrillia of Brooksville and Danny Marrillia of Mt. Dora; two sisters, Nancy Brunswick and Sandy Worthington of Inverness; two brothers Harley "Lou" Worthington, Jr. and Bob Worthington of Gulfport; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Richard H. Toombs, 54, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, June 23. Born in Stoneham, Mass. He came to this area 18 years ago from Brookfield, Mass. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and President of Cypress Copier Consultants, an avid golfer and supporter of youth hockey.
Survivors include his three sons, Christopher of Wesley Chapel, Nathan of Spring Hill and Erich of Tampa; two brothers Robert of Mansfield, Pa. and Edwin of Spring Hill; a sister Brenda Sweet of Lyndon Center, VT; and 1 granddaughter.

Mary F. Corbett, 79 of Spring Hill died on Saturday, June 26 at Oak Hill Hospital. Born in Boston, Mass. she came to this area 25 years ago from Canton, Mass. She was a retired Special Education teacher and was a Catholic by faith. She enjoyed the finer things in life, was very outgoing and had a flair for life. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Grace of Spring Hill; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Arlene J. Wages, 78, of Spring Hill died Thursday, June 24, at her home. Born in Queens, New York she came here five years ago from Richmond, New York. She loved to decorate and paint, was very creative and artistic.
Survivors include her son: Scott D. Wages of Ithica, NY; 2 brothers: Donald Musso of Farmingdale, NY and William Musso of New Port Richey, Fl.

Gertrude V. Gordon, 93, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, June 23 at her home. Born in Bridgewater, Mass. she moved to this area 21 years ago from Epping, N.H. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Science Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her nephew, Richard E. Smith of Orleans, Mass; a niece Beverly Weber of Danville, Va.; and three great nephews.

Patricia A. Papineau, 71, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, in Brooksville.
She was born in Central Falls, R.I., and moved to this area eight years ago from her native Rhode Island. She retired from the New England Telephone Company after 25 years of service as an operator. She was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Mary Catholic Church, Masaryktown.
Survivors include her husband, Valmore J.; a son, David of Greenville, R.I.; a daughter, Lisa Legner of Spring Hill; a sister, Jean D'Amato of Warwick, R.I.; and seven grandchildren.

Billie J. Roth, 69, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Berryville, Ark., and moved to this area recently from Defuniak Springs. She was an ordained Southern Baptist Chaplain and performed prison ministry in Washington County and truck stop ministry in Mossy Head, Fla. She was a past member of Women's Missionary Union and taught Vacation Bible Studies for Southwide Baptist Church. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, Defuniak Springs, and a member of First Baptist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include her husband, William J.; three daughters, Sheri Padgett of Brooksville, and Elizabeth Forbess and Ann Lee, both of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth E. White Sr., 81, of Brooksville, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Boston, Mass., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Detroit, Mich. He was a retired quality assurance engineer for Ford Motor Company, a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the VFW and Archery Club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Jim White of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Kenneth Jr. of Riverview; a daughter, Barbara Nicolson of McKinney, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Victoria Elizabeth Guicici, 68, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at her home.
She was born in Shenandoah, Pa., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Sinking Springs, Pa. She was a retired librarian for St. Ignatius Catholic School, Sinking Springs, and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and the Guardian Ad Litem program.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Vega of Spring Hill; a brother, Anthony T. Piekarski of El Paso, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Charles D. Bryant, 68, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at his home.
He moved to this area 47 years ago from his native Tazewell, Tenn. He was an industrial electrician for Industrial Electrical Services, Brooksville, a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth F. Skinner of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Linda Jo West and Anita Hooser, both of Brooksville, and Karen A. Hooser of Apex, N.C., and Beverly Burrell of Ocala; two brothers, George and Johnny Debusk of Tazewell; a sister, Marie Kell of Tazewell; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Vernon W. Firchow, 69, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Kenosha, Wis., and moved to this area eight years ago from Texas. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, and had held various management positions with IBM, Allstate Insurance and the St. Petersburg Times. He retired from American Color Graphics, where he was vice president of their southwest sales region. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; a son, Donald Firchow of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Kelli Roberts of Houston, Texas, and Kim Metko of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Firchow of Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Gwendolyn Hammock Slaughter Laliscio, 67, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her daughter's home in Brooksville.
She was a lifelong resident of Brooksville and retired after 20 years with the Hernando County Public School System as head baker. She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Ralph; two sons, David Eugene Slaughter of Ocala and Eddie Lynn Slaughter of Brooksville; two stepsons, Jason and Daniel Laliscio, both of Summerville, S.C.; two daughters, Jean Ann Caraway of Brooksville and Katherine Louise Finley of Ocala; a brother, Franklin Hammock of Brooksville; two sisters, Sharon Sommer of Lakeland and Lola Earles of Brooksville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Rada T. Grassmann, 86, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at the Hospice Care Unit in Brooksville. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and came here 25-plus years ago from Long Island, N.Y.
Survivors include her daughter, Adora Lee Wallace of Spring Hill; two sons, James Cushman of Port St. Lucie and Albert Cushman of New York; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Richard Paul Dondero, 83, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Brooksville. He was a native of Vineland, N.J., and a resident of this area for the past 24 years coming from Warminster, Penn. He retired from Budd Co. in Philadelphia after 30 years in steel fabricating. Mr. Dondero was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during World War II and received a Bronze Star, and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Marylynn Sykes, Harrisburg, Penn.; two grand children, Susan E. Simon and David Carl Sykes, and two great-grandchildren, Adrien and Jase Simon. Arrangements by Pinecrest Funeral Chapels.

Lynn M. Wagner of Brooksville died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She was 47.
Born in Newton, Mass., she came to the area four years ago from Clearwater.
She was a critical care nurse at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include her husband, Erich of Brooksville; a son, Erich Wagner of Brooksville; daughter, Olivia Wagner of Brooksville; father Francis J. O'Hearn of Waltham, Mass; a brother, Buddy O'Hearn of Hudson, N.H.; six sisters, Kathy and Lillis both of Clearwater, Eileen and Nancy of Billerica, Mass; Beth of Natick, Mass. and Janice of Clearwater.

George Kopasz of Spring Hill died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was 83.
Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he moved to the area from Trumbull, Conn.
He was shipping supervisor at Bryant Electric in Bridgeport.
Kopasz was a retired U.S. Air Force World War II veteran and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his brother, Charles Kopasz of Spring Hill; a sister, Grace Kopasz of Bridgeport and a nephew, John Kopasz of Spring Hill.

Ila Frances Thomas of Brooksville died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center of Brooksville. She was 66.
Thomas was born in Brooksville and a lifelong resident. She was a retired secretary and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Lands of Orlando; two stepsons, Coleman Thomas of Inverness and Martin Thomas of Williston, Fla.; four step-daughters, Veronica Whitelaw of Talbot, Tenn., Kitten Davis of Brooksville, Debbie Ruis and Billie Jean Mathis, both of Starke, Fla; two sisters, Mary Weiler of Brooksville and Ruth Bundy of Tampa; 22 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

Pauline Herriman, 90, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Heron Pointe Health & Rehabilitation, Brooksville.
She was born in Pennsylvania and was a longtime resident of Brooksville. She was in the food service industry and was a Protestant by faith.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Wallace.

Dorothy E. Foucault, 86, of The Heather, Weeki Wachee, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Mexico, Maine, and moved to this area 20 years ago from Manchester, Mass. She was a retired retail clothing associate and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, David of Coldwater, Miss.; a daughter, Diane Guillen of Spring Hill; two sisters, Mildred Hartwell of Clearwater and Marion Watson of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Joseph Rehurek, 84, of Masaryktown, died Sunday, March 27, 2005.
He was born in Petrov, Czechoslovakia and moved to this area 47 years ago from Johnson City, N.Y. He was a salesman for Pine Acres Hatchery and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Pearl Harbor and China. He served on and was the treasurer of the Masaryktown Cemetery Committee and was a member of the Masaryktown Recreation Club and First Presbyterian Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine "Geri"; a son, Ronald W. Rehurek; three daughters, Rosalie Minnich, Elaine Hall and Karen Bryan; a brother, Adolph Rehurek; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

John M. Haskedakes, 89, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Evergreen Woods.
He was born in La Crosse, Wis., and moved to Florida 28 years ago from Milford, Conn. He moved to Spring Hill 24 years ago from Pinellas Park. He was a graduate of Qinnipiac College, a salesman for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, a U.S. Army veteran receiving the Bronze Star, and Greek Orthodox by faith.
Survivors include his son, Douglas Haskedakes of Spring Hill; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
