Marvine "Mikki" Frane, 69, of Brooksville, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Pikeville, Ky., and moved to this area five years ago from Phoenix, Ariz. She was a homemaker, a member of Women of the Moose 229, Brooksville, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Dave Evans of Brooksville and Jack Evans of Colorado; three stepsons, Kevin and Scott Frane, both of Phoenix, and Steven Frane of Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Connie Young of Springfield, Mo., and Becky Mulestead of Phoenix; a brother, Ben McCoy of Spring Hill; a sister, Elaine Skinner of Spring Hill; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Felix Lewan, 89, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Windsor Woods Convalescent Center.
He was born in Georgetown, Ill., and moved to this area 29 years ago from Philadelphia, Pa. He was a retired medical administrator for the VA Hospital in Philadelphia, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, and a member and past grand knight at Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council 6368, VFW Post 10209, Spring Hill, National Associate of Federal Employees and St. Theresa Social Club.
Survivors include a son, Daniel "Dan" Lewan of Weeki Wachee; a daughter, Diane Samek of Spring Hill; and two grandchildren.

Thomas Dwight Coles, 85, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Youngstown, Ohio he moved to this area 52 years ago Fort Myers. He was a retired body repairman for Amstutz, Ford, worked for 11 years for the USDA at Chinsegut Research Facility, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a lifelong member of First Armored Division Association, and a member of Eden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Marie Smith Coles of Brooksville; a son Charles of Burson, Calif.; two daughters, Yvonne Coles Rentz of Brooksville and Sheila Coles Middleton of Flippin, Ariz.; a sister, Zada Anthony of Vinton, La.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Harvey Burt Van Slyke, 85, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Delaware he came to the area 24 years ago from Tampa. He was a pharmaceutical sales representative. Survivors include two sons, Walter of Oak Park, Ill. and Steve of Brooksville; grandson, Brian of Oak Park, Ill.; and granddaughter, Tracy of Oak Park, IL.

Matilda Bernhart, 94, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Sandra Ely's ACLF, Spring Hill. Born in Augsburg, Germany and moved to the area 15 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include daughter Eleanor Lewis, of Spring Hill; son Frank Bernhart of Westbury, N.Y. and one grandchild Michael.

Lawrence E. Parks, 86, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Hospice Care Center. Born in Schenectady, N.Y. he came to this area 27 year ago. He was an electrician for General Electric where he was employed for 39 years and also a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Hildegarde; three sons William of Tulsa Okla., Lawrence Jr. of Saratoga Lake, N.Y., Ronald of Spring Hill; a sister Geraldine Rossman of Rotterdam, N.Y.; three grandchildren and one great grandson. Elizabeth B. D'Addeo, 74, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Spring Hill Hospital. Born in Hartford, Conn. and moved to this area 16 years ago from Bloomfield, Conn. She was a retired secretary for a family owned heating and plumbing company and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include Jerome R. D'Addeo, of Acton, Maine; a son Michael J. of Lockport, N.Y.; two daughters Elizabeth Diulio of Spring Hill and Lori-Ann D'Addeo of Lake Ariel, Penn.; Ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three cousins Beverly Mathieu of Springfield, Mass., Mary Bertrand of Enfield, Conn. and Richard Paquette, Boulder, Colo.

She is survived by her dear friend Mary Groves of Spring Hill.

Elizabeth A. Borgeson, 73, of Spring Hill died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at her home. Born in Amery, Wis. She moved to this area five years ago from Bloomington, Minn. She was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary of Bloomington, Minn.
She is survived by her husband, John; a son John R. of Japan; daughter Jackie of Bloomington, Minn.; three brothers, James Golden of Sioux City, Iowa, Tom Golden of Onalaska, Wis., and Jack Golden of Monterey Calif. and four grandchildren.

Ray William Wacker, 82, of Spring Hill, died Monday, May 12, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to this area 18 years ago. He worked for Western Electric for over 40 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, a member of the Pennsylvania Club and Spring Hill Golf and Country Club, and was a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys "Ding"; two sons, Ray and Glenn W. of Pittsburgh; a sister, Iris Maroney of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reverend Malachi Raymond Cook, 94, of Spring Hill, died Monday, May 12, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Bartow County, Ga., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Livonia, Mich. He attended Central Bible Institute and was ordained in 1935. He was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God, Brooksville, and past secretary of the Michigan District of the Assemblies of God.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; and several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Betty Sue Taylor, 67, of Spring Hill, died Monday, May 12, 2003 at Kindred Hospital Central, Tampa.
She was born in Maryville, Tenn., and moved to this area seven years ago from New York, N.Y. She was a retired university professor with the City University of New York. She was active in the professional theater and since retiring, was active in community theater and the teaching of theater arts. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Miller; a brother, Retired Lt. Colonel Thomas Effler of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Bonnie Jo Rigsby of Walland, Tenn., and Hazel Testa of Aiken, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Breslin of Spring Hill, Theresa Stitt of Tunkhannock, Pa., and Betty Ann Eglinton of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Edward Denbowitz of New Brunswick, N.J.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was born in Wayne County, Mich., and moved to Orlando five years ago from Brooksville. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and attended Brooksville Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include a son, Rev. Daniel Barton of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Esther Mae Ellis of Weeki Wachee; a sister, Donna Bell of Prescott, Mich.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Vera A. Gothberg, 97, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in Brooksville.
She was born in Wheelock, N.D., and moved to this area 52 years ago from Birmingham, Ala. She was a longtime volunteer with Lykes Memorial Hospital, now Brooksville Regional Hospital, Auxiliary with over 27,000 volunteer hours, owner/operator of Mermaid Motel in Weeki Wachee from 1951-1966, a member of Brooksville First United Methodist Women's Craft Group and a longtime member of the church.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Charles McNabb of Crystal River; a sister-in-law, Esther Amsberry of Williston, N.D.; a grandson, David McNabb of Brooksville; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
