He was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area eight years ago from Rochester Hills, Mich. He retired from Manufacturing Engineering with General Motors and was a member of the Glen Lakes Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; four sons, Mark of Fort Myers, Michael of Union Lake, Mich., Mathew of Morenci, Mich., and Murray of Macomb Township, Mich.; a daughter, Monica of Idaho Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Edward James Bachmann, 81, of Spring Hill, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 13 years ago from New York. He was a retired installer from AT&T, a World War II U.S. Marines veteran and a member of VFW Post 10209, Spring Hill, Telephone Pioneers of America, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen; a son, Edward J. Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Sue Jorden and Jo Ann Parry, both of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Harold of New York; a sister, June Sullivan of New York; and six grandchildren.

Daurice E. Weaver, 80, of Beverly Hills, died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Long Beach, Calif., and moved to this area 18 years ago from Los Angeles, Calif. She was a retired reservationist, having worked for over 25 years for Trans World Airlines (TWA), and was a Protestant by faith.
She has no surviving family members but is survived by longtime friend, co-worker and neighbor, Jacqueline Samson of Beverly Hills.

Martha Reider, 96, of Daytona Beach, formerly of Brooksville, died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at The Place at Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach.
She was born in Germany and had lived in the Brookridge community in Brooksville from 1988 to 1999 before moving to Ormond Beach four years ago. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; a son, Paul H. of Flagler Beach; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Nancy L. Kindt, 52, of Brooksville, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 24 years ago from Bridgeview, Ill. He retired after 34 years as a machinist from J.J. Tourek, Broadview, Ill., and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Laverna; a son, Joseph of Spring Hill; a brother, Edmund of Ripon, Wis.; three sisters, Helen Kimball and Martha Bull, both of Laona, Wis., and Terry Reynolds of Ripley, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Lola C. Ross, 90, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 at Heartland of Brooksville.

She is survived by a son, Roger D. of Fredericksburg, Va., two daughters, Linda Hansen of Crossville, Tenn., and Shirley Stebbins of Brooksville; a brother, Darrell Jensen of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Josephine Spring of Lincoln, Neb., and Jean Dimick of Sidney, Neb.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Florino P. Roscillo, 76, of Brooksville, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at his home.
Born in Woburn, Mass., he moved to this area 23 years ago from Winchester, Mass. He was a Stone Mason; a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Italian Club of Winchester and the Ridge Manor West Club; and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

He was born in Tewksbury, Mass., and moved to this area 10 years ago from Waltham, Mass. He retired from Boston Gas Company, where he was in sales. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Massachusetts Club and Holy Cross Lutheran Church, both of Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three sons, John of Nashville, Tenn., and David and Charles, both of Lawrence, Mass.; three daughters, Barbara Morgan of King City, Calif., Joyce Hanks of Masaryktown, and Carolyn of Spring Hill; a brother, Kenneth of Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was born in Boswell, Pa., and moved to this area 26 years ago from Garden City, Mich. She was a retired auto parts assembler for the Chrysler Corporation and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Ross of San Francisco, Calif.; and a nephew, Thomas Lange of Spring Hill.

She was born in Northampton, Mass., and moved to this area 15 years ago from Westerly, R.I. She was a homemaker, a member of the Brookridge Square Dance Club, and life member of the OES Chapter, Stonington, Conn.

Joseph V. Mendola, 73, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and moved to this area a year ago from East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y. He was a business owner in the construction industry, retiring as the owner of Dotco Enterprises, Long Island, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Maryann of Spring Hill; two brothers, Tony and Sam, both of Port Richey; two sisters, Antoinette Fava of Freehold, N.J., and Tessie Conchetta of New York; and two grandchildren.

Carol A. Wills, 63, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
She was a resident of McHenry, Ill. for 40 years, moved to Florida in 1995, and moved to this area five years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; three sons, Paul, Daniel and Jon; two daughters, Mary Jo and Jennifer; and two grandchildren.

Dr. Travis J. Northcutt Jr., 73, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 in Brooksville, Fla. of complications from pneumonia.
He was born in McFarlan, N.C., and migrated to Florida in 1946.He earned a Baccalaureate, Masters and Doctoral degree from Florida State University. In 1959, he earned the first Master of Public Health in Epidemiology granted by the University of North Carolina. A pioneer in medical sociology, Northcutt became the Florida State Board of Health's first full-time social scientist, serving from 1959 to 1964 as its Chief Social Scientist and Director of Community Mental Health Research. He became Professor of Sociology at Florida State University in 1964 and was a Research Associate of the Institute of Social Research from 1964 to 1969. Northcutt then served as Director of Academic Planning for the Board of Regents of the State University System of Florida. In 1972, he accepted an appointment as Professor and Director of Planning and Development of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of South Florida. He was appointed Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in 1973 and became Dean Emeritus in 1982. He then served as director of the Human Resources Institute and Professor of Social Work until his retirement from USF in 1993. During his lifetime, he was also a school bus driver, long haul truck driver, professional boxer and baseball player, restaurateur, riveter (railroad) and bouncer.
Active and curious, Northcutt was an avid reader, bird hunter, baseball fan and storyteller. He was also interested in history, boxing, dogs, farming, folklore, the New Testament, politics, and cigars. He served on the Governor's (Leroy Collins) Council on Aging and Chronic Disease and the Governor's (Reubin Askew) Council on Criminal Justice. In 1988, he ran for a seat on the Board of County Commissioners in Hernando County, winning the Democratic Party primary election but losing in the general election.
Northcutt is survived by his wife, Susan Stroudinger Northcutt; two sons, Stevan of Tampa and Jeffrey of Jacksonville; a daughter, Holly Wirth of Riverview; a sister, Emogene Eddins of Greensboro, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Rachel Northcutt, Samuel and Connor Wirth.

Karen Ann McDowell, 39, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Victorville, Calif., she moved to this area 12 years ago from Clinton, Md. She was a nurse and a Baptist by faith. She is survived by her husband, Joel E.; a son, Justin M. of Spring Hill; two daughters, Ashleigh B. and Carley Ann of Spring Hill; her mother, Delores Petty of Spring Hill; three sisters, Cynthia Jones of Friendswood, Texas, Sandy Randoth of Centreville, Va., and Kim Faulkner of Owings, Md.; two brothers, Christopher Petty of Ashburn, Va., and Timothy Petty of Fredrick, Md. Hannah E. "Miss Hannah" Sellers, 81, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Murphysboro, Ill., and moved to this area 18 years ago from Union Lake, Mich. She retired after 31 years of service as a Registered Nurse and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence T.; a daughter, Diann Kuziel of Lutz; two sisters, Martha Heitz of Chicago, Ill., and Lila Mae Cullinan of Evanston, Ill.; and two granddaughters.

John S. Groves, 81, of Spring Hill, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Kindred Hospital Central, Tampa.
He was born in Nashua, N.H., and moved to this area 23 years ago from York Beach, Maine. He attended St. Neselms and Boston University, worked for the State of New Hampshire Education Department and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club, Hudson, and a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Nashua, American Legion Club, York, Maine, and New Hampshire Club of Spring Hill. He was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; three sons, John of Dunedin, Fla. and York Beach, Richard S. of Rye, N.H., and Steven P. of York Beach; a daughter, JoAnn Daniels of Kittery, Maine; a brother, Stuart of Spring Hill; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and a member of Northcliffe Baptist Church.
