Roger Stephens, 79, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Portsmouth, Va., and came here five years ago.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 10 years and then served 13 years in U.S. Air Force. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nora; two sons, Richard of Vineland, N.J., and Terry of Nesco, N.J., two daughters, Kendra and Karen, both of Spring Hill.

Janet Mae Mercurio, 67, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville.
She was born in Waldon, N.Y., and moved to this area 31 years ago from New Jersey. She was a retired supervising sales representative for Dutch Maid Clothing and Apparel, Lancaster, Pa. She was a member of Music Aires Choir and Ladies Nine Hole League, both of Brookridge, and the Spring Hill Garden Club. She attended Suncoast Christian Church, where she played the piano.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony R.; a son, Louis of Bellvue, Colo.; a daughter, Diane Henn of Spring Hill; her mother, Alice Boudreault of New Port Richey; a brother, Herb Brigham of Washington, N.J.; a sister, Fran Snider of Brooksville; and a grandson.

Mary P. Johnson, 97, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Scotland and moved to this area 21 years ago from Detroit, Mich. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie M. Drost of Spring Hill; a sister, Ivy Stewart of Scotland; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Felix P. Slominski, 82, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at Crown Pointe ALF, Spring Hill.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Valley Stream, Long Island, N.Y. He retired from the U.S. Post Office, was a member of the American Postal Worker's Union, a U.S. Navy veteran, and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Barbara Stalzer of Stillwater, Okla., and Loraine Dillon of France; a nephew; and five grandsons.

Dolores C. Hartman, 78, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
She moved to this area 13 years ago from her native St. Louis, Mo. She retired as secretary after 45 years from Mallinckrodt, Inc. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and its Women's Association, Spring Hill.
She is survived by her sister, Rita of Spring Hill.

Frank N. Balog, 78, of High Point, Brooksville, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville.
He was born in Johnstown, Pa., and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he retired from the Cleveland Board of Education in 1976. He was a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his brother, Jerry of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

Thurmond E. Milliren, 77, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville.
He was born in Clairton, Pa., and moved to this area seven years ago from San Jose, Calif. He was a retired supervisor for IBM, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Marlyn; two daughters, Kimberly of Weeki Wachee and Drucilla Harper of Canon City, Colo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Oscar E. "Dutch" Ehlers, 87, of Brooksville, died Sunday, March 1, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and moved to this area 60 years ago from Punta Gorda. He was a retired superintendent for Florida Rock Industries, a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rodick and Beth, both of Brooksville; and a granddaughter, Amy White.

Larry G. Heathcoe, 68, of Brooksville, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area 15 years ago from his native Richmond, Ind. He was a retired captain firefighter for Richmond, a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran, and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; a daughter, Cheryl Wombolt of Ansonia, Ohio; his mother, Marie Schwab of Greenville, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Hazel Louise Heibeck, 80, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at her home.
She was born in St. John's, Mich., and moved to this area 22 years ago from Lansing, Mich. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; a son, Richard of Spring Hill; a daughter, Marilyn Coons of Good Hope, Ill.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Donald Booth Wentzel, 83, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in North Charleroi, Pa., and moved to this area 21 years ago. He graduated from Clemson College in 1941 as a commissioned 2nd lieutenant and retired from the U.S. Army as a colonel in 1974 after 33 years of military service including service in Africa during World War II, parachute training in Rome, joined the OSS under "Wild" Bill Donovan, trained in Washington, D.C. and was assigned to China for a year, and attended the Command and General Staff School, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. He then returned to Falls Church, Va. to work with the CIA, was stationed in Japan for three years, returned to Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pa., studied French at the Army Language School, Monterey, Calif., and was assigned to NATO in Paris, France for three years. He returned to West Point, N.Y. to teach French at the U.S. Military Academy, assigned to Assistant Military Science and Tactics at Loyola College, Baltimore, Md. He went to Ft. Meade, Md. to lead training and later returned to Military Attache work in Ankara, Turkey. After his retirement from the military, he received his MA in math education from Bowie State College and taught mathematics at the middle school level for eight years before retiring and moving to Spring Hill. He was a member of the DAV, VFW, Military Officers Association of America, formerly TROA, Oak Hill Senior Center, Enrichment Center-Lykes, Senior Citizens Club of Hernando County, Senior Friends and recently renewed his membership in AOPA (Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association) and was a student pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia A.; three daughters, Dr. Mary C. of Newburyport, Mass., Kathleen S. of Spring Hill and Sarah E. Kroeker of Hamilton, Mass.; two sons, Christopher J. of North Hollywood, Calif., and Joseph D. of Lusby, Md.; a sister, Irene Rankin of Washington, Pa.; and two grandchildren, James A. and Leigh Rose Kroeker of Hamilton, Mass.

Grace Emogene Hayes, 85, of Brooksville, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at Heron Pointe Health & Rehab.
She was born in Mattoon, Wis., and moved to this area 28 years ago from Calumet City, Ill. She was a retired secretary from Guarantee Reserve Insurance Company, Illinois, and a member of Mariner United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, Michael R. of Calumet City; two brothers, John Swanson of New York and Duane Swanson of Green Bay, Wis.; four sisters, Florence Fredrick of Fort Myers, Dorothy May of Clarksville, Ga., Erna Thomski of Kempster, Wis., and Naomi White of Chicago Ridge, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Santos Morales, 83, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area 14 years ago from Centereach, N.Y. She retired from Bridal Manufactures of New York, was a member of Lapena Bridal Gowns Union, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Maximo; two sons, Lorenzo Lopez of Holiday and Fermin Lopez of Farmingville, Long Island, N.Y.; a daughter, Yvonne Farrel of Bayside, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dr. Stanley A. Rudnicki, 74, of Weeki Wachee, died Monday, March 3, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area three years ago from New Mexico. He was a retired New York police detective, a chiropractor, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of VFW Post 10209, Disabled American Veterans, Albuquerque, N.M., DEA Endowment Association, and New Mexico Chiropractic Association, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Lee of Tool, Texas, and William B. of New York; a daughter, Carol of Jorgensen, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Geneva McCoy Bryant, 69, of Brooksville, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Middletown, Ohio, and moved to this area 56 years ago from Charleston, W.Va. She was a homemaker, a member of WOTM 229, Brooksville, and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; a son, Kenneth F. Skinner of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Linda Jo West and Geneva Anita Hooser, both of Brooksville, Karen Hooser of Apex, N.C., and Beverly Burrell of Ocala; a brother, Ben McCoy of Brooksville; two sisters, Marvine Frane of Brooksville and Elaine Skinner of Spring Hill; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Curtis C. Sanders, 64, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002 in Ft. Lauderdale.
He was born in Hurtsboro, Ala., and moved to this area 45 years ago from Hurtsboro. He was an equipment operator for the CSX Transportation Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shady Rest, where he served as a deacon, and the Brooksville MenŐs Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie L.; six sons, Barry and Curtis W., both of Brooksville, Gerald L., Damon L. and Desmond L., all of Atlanta, Ga., and Derwin Packer of Ft. Lauderdale; a daughter, Kimberly Y. of Brooksville; three brothers, Earnest W. and Miller F., both of Brooksville, and Lee of Orlando; five sisters, Odessa Randolph of Hurtsboro, Ludella Rogers of Tuskegee, Ala., Dollie Turpin of Phoenix City, Ala., Percy McNair and Helen Kimbrough, both of Columbus, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Hot Springs, Ark. She was a retired secretary and a member of Artist Et Ectera, Brooksville.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Carol Rhodes of Colorado and Elinor Williams of Meeker, Colo.; several stepnieces and stepnephews; and several stepgrandchildren.

Stephen Anthony Burke, 21, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Tampa and moved to this area two years ago from Brandon.

Larry M. Mackey, 67, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Chambersburg, Pa., and moved to this area 15 years ago from Cleveland, Ohio. He was a retired machinist, Korean War U.S. Army veteran, member of VFW Post 9236, Hernando Beach, Moose Lodge 521 and American Legion, and Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; four sons, Larry, Jr. of Euclid, Ohio, Alan K. of Spring Hill, Mark D. of Cleveland and Rick of Spring Hill; three sisters, Jeanette Fogg of Ontario, Calif., Lois Schaffer of Chambersburg and Ann of Brunswick, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Wilton Mansfield Goodman
Wilton Mansfield Goodman, 86, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Hospice Health Care Center.
He moved to this area 20 years ago from Baltimore County, Maryland. He was employed in government service for his entire career starting with the U.S. Navy at age 18. He graduated from U.S. Maritime Officers School as an Ensign and was licensed and certified as a marine engineer by the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from federal government with over 25 years of service including U.S. Immigration & Naturalization, U.S. Post Office and enforcement officer in U.S. Customs Service. He worked as a Baltimore County building inspector for over 12 years, life member of Maryland Law Enforcement Officers, Inc., American Legion 0273, Madeira Beach, and VFW, Seminole, and member of Florida Sheriff's Association.
Survivors include his wife, A. Louise; two sons, David M. and W. Wayne, both of Baltimore County; a daughter, Patricia L. Kirby of Baltimore County; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary A. Buczek, 78, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House, Brooksville.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Chicago. She was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Rudolph E.; two sons, R. John of Seattle, Wash., and Mark of Crystal Lake, Ill.; three daughters, Maryan Pelland and Bonnie Frank, both of Crystal Lake, and Sharon Meyer-MacDonald of Seattle; a brother, Bernard Braun of Des Plaines, Ill.; a sister, Catherine Seplak of Mt. He was born in Isabel, Kan., and moved to this area 19 years ago from New Port Richey. He attended Central Bible College, was Chaplain in the CC Corp, retired pastor of New Port Richey Assembly of God Church, former pastor of Dunedin Assembly of God, former pastor of churches in Ohio and Michigan, evangelized in Kansas, Ohio and Florida, an Elder, Sr. Adult Sunday School teacher and member of Brooksville Assembly of God Church.
