She was born in Milford, Conn., and moved to this area six years ago from Monroe, Conn. She worked for Peoples Bank, Bridgeport, Conn., and retired from the Better Business Bureau, Fairfield, Conn. She was a hospice volunteer working with Hernando-Pasco Hospice, a 4-H leader, Girl Scout leader, and a member of Eastern Star, PTA and VFW Auxiliary.

Juan Paez, 98, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to this area in 1972 from New Jersey. He was Roman Catholic by faith. He was a merchant marine during World War II when he first came to the United States and participated in the convoys in the North Atlantic during the war and the reconstruction of Germany and Poland.
He retired from Reliance Frame Co. in Dover, N.J. as a foreman. He learned to build sailboats with his father, enjoyed sailing as a young man and enjoyed working on and rebuilding cars.
He built his family home at Lake Hopatcong, N.J. when family moved from New York City in 1957.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gumersinda of Spring Hill; and son John Paez of Sparta, N.J.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph and his wife Betty, and Carlos, both of Spring Hill, and Frederick of New York, N.Y.; one daughter, Iris Molinari of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren, Joanne, Deborah, Amy, Joseph, Tommy, Lee, Alvin and A.J.; 10 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Katherine, Samantha, Bryant, Johnnie, Mariann, Chelsea, Trey and Britney.
Friends will be received on Monday, March 29 from 1-2 p.m. with a wake at 2 p.m. at the Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes, Spring Hill Chapel, 4450 Commercial Way.
