He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and lived in Pensacola for 20 years before moving to this area two years ago. He was a pilot for the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War, and a member of the Marine Corps Aviation Association.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Reserves veteran, having received the Bronze Star for bravery while in active duty. He was a retired policeman from the 3rd Precinct of the Suffolk County Police Department, Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., with 21 years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, former member of Rotary Club, Newfoundland, Pa., a member of New York State Retired Police Association, Albany, N.Y., and Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association, Long Island, and an Episcopalian by faith.

He was born in Beacon, N.Y., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Beacon. He retired from Beacon City School System as a physical education teacher and was a Realtor. He graduated from Syracuse University and studied at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., was a past member of Southern Duchess Golf & Country Club, New York, a member of Seven Hills Golf & Country Club and National Rifle Association, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theater of War in the 10th Armored Tiger Division. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart after suffering wounds in the Ardenennes Forest.
