He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 15 years ago. He was a retired supervisor for Gerald Electronics Corporation and a member of the Brooksville Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a son, George A., Jr. of Trevose, Pa.; a daughter, Edith Fisher of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Marion Gavin, Brooksville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Argil 'Whitey' L. Moran, 81, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 at Heartland of Brooksville.
He was born in Webster Springs, W.Va., and moved to this area five years ago from St. Albans, W.Va. He was a sheet metal worker for Union Carbide Chemical, and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was an auxiliary policeman for St. Albans, a member of the International Association of Sheet Metal and Aerospace Workers and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie; a son, Daniel of Florida; three daughters, Judith Hilton, Deborah Ketchum and Kathy Hillyer, all of Florida; a stepdaughter, Diann M. Green of Florida; stepson Morris Cracraft of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
