She was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 10 years ago. She was a retired factory worker for Barnstead International, Dubuque, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Emil Jr. of Backtaua, Ill.; four daughters, Florence Brown of Illinois, Patricia Schneller and Barbara Gnoffo, both of Spring Hill, and Gwendolyn McCarthy of Clearwater; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was born in Grenada, West Indies, and resided in Trinidad, West Indies and Aruba Northern Antilles for many years. He moved to this area 12 years ago from Charleston, S.C. He retired as a radio operator in the telecommunications industry and was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Robert and Royce; three daughters, Deidre-Anne, Alecia and Sharon, all of Trinidad; a brother, Leslie of Grenada; three sisters, Florence of Spain, Rosalind of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Audrey Brown of Trinidad; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Lileth Francis of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Ruth S. Edmonston, 79, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in St. Clair, Pa., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Souderton, Pa. She retired from Central Sprinkler Corp., Lansdale, Pa., and was a World War II U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving as a radio operator 3rd class. She was a member of American Legion Post 208, WAVES Unit 27, AARP, and Weeki Wachee Quilters, a graduate of Hernando County Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy Class 44, and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, John of Halstead, Pa., and Robert of Perkasie, Pa.; a daughter, Shirley Pall of Harleysville, Pa.; a sister, Gertrude Rhaggianti of Kulpsville, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

Jane K. Miller, 84, of High Point, Brooksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Cherokee, Iowa, and moved to this area 25 years ago from Chicago, Ill. She was an insurance adjuster for the American Mutual Liability Life Insurance Company for over 10 years. She was a member of Mariner United Methodist Church, Spring Hill, and belonged to multiple groups in High Point including the High Point Golf League.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. Miller of Chester, Va., and Michael Miller of Brooksville; three grandchildren, Kevin, Ben and Kelley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie W. Phinney, 90, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Bladenboro, N.C., and moved to this area eight years ago from Amherst, Mass. She was a missionary for the Wesleyan Church and a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and Brooksville Wesleyan Church.

Richard Lee "Ms. Pat" Frazier, 73, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 at her daughter's home.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Amanda Ringel of Staten Island and Kim Poulos of Spring Hill; a son, Douglas Parsley of Staten Island; a brother, Walter Ringel of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.

Rudy Rafael Taylor, 35, of Homosassa, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to this area 18 years ago. He was a Baptist by faith and played and watched sports.

She was born in Rushville, Ind., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Indianapolis, Ind. She was a homemaker and a member of Arlington Christian Church, Arlington.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Stout of Spring Hill and Diane Pike of Rushville, Ind.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Leonard Spano, 79, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Department of Transportation for the city of New York. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a volunteer fireman, former member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW, past president of the Flanders Little League, Long Island, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Leonard F. Spano of Spring Hill and Michael Spano of Flanders; a daughter, Anna M. Vetter of Spring Hill; a sister, Anna Spano of Brooksville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Carl E. Schlabaugh, 85, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to this area 17 years ago from Canfield, Ohio. He was a structural iron worker for Diamond Steel, of which he was one of the owners. He worked mostly on bridge and hospital construction. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a 60-year member of the F&AM of Worthington, Ohio, and a member of the Timber Pines Country Club and First United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Sandra Kmentt of Port Richey and Carol Schlabaugh of Naples, Italy; a brother, Earl of Youngstown; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Billie K. Meadors Jr., 53, of Brooksville, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Florida Regional Hospital in Orlando.
He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Brooksville. He was a heavy equipment operator for E.R. Jahna Industries and was of the Baptist faith.

Gladys Marie Langworthy Cook, 84, of Hernando Beach, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002. Born in Frenchburg, Ky., she moved to this area 53 years ago from Cyclone, W. Va. She was a homemaker and the oldest charter member of Grace Community Church, Hernando Beach. She is survived by three sons, Gene of Brentwood, Tenn., Jerry of Pensacola and James of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kathy Lambson of Ramah, N.M., and Betsy Fagan Chichester of Hernando Beach; three brothers, Norval, Kenneth Paul and Jack Langworthy; seven sisters, Beatrice Martin, Shirley Burnett, Gertrude Bailey, Mary Stewart, Willarose Smith, Parthina Neeley and Yvonne Lanier; 16 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Yolanda M. DeSantis, 66, of Timber Pines in Spring Hill, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she moved to this area seven years ago from Pine Brook, N.J. She was a housewife; president of the National Discovery Owners' Association Motor Club; chairlady of the Ladies Bridge Club of Timber Pines; registration chairperson for the Girl Scouts, Morris County, N.J.; and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons, Joseph P. Jr. of Pine Brook, N.J. and Anthony of Eulis, Texas; a daughter, Annemarie Drury of Flanders, N.J.; and six grandchildren.

Darrin T. Bucher, 25, of Ashtabula Township, Ohio, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001 in Morgan Township, Ohio, from injuries he sustained in a car wreck.
