He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a Faithful Navigator with the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, St. Jude Council, a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, head usher at the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Frances Cabrini and was one of the founders donating much of his time to the expansion of the church community.

Marie Foodge, 92, of Spring Hill, died Friday at the Carol Martin Adult Family Care in Spring Hill. She was born in Sweden and came to this area from Randoph, N.Y., in 1999. She was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith. She was a member of the Independent Order of Swithoidin in Chicago and the Vasa Lodge in Jamestown, N.Y. She is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Fritz; son Richard and grandson Richard. Born in Huttonsville, W. Va., he moved to Lecanto 19 years ago from Safety Harbor. He was a retired trucker for Globe Union; a member of DAV; and was a Baptist.

Born in Portland, Maine, he was a graduate of Greely Institute, Cumberland Center, Maine, and began work for H.P. Hood and Sons, retiring as manager at the Hood plant in Agawam, Mass. He served as a radio operator on a C-47 in the 79th Airborne Troop Carrier during World War II; was a longtime member of the Masons, a past parishioner of East Auburn Baptist Church, Auburn, Maine, and was a recent member of the United Church of Christ, Spring Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; a daughter, Deborah Leighton of Auburn, Maine; a son, John of North Attleboro, Mass.; a brother, Frank of East Wenatchee, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
