Muriel Martens, nee Heenan, 80, of Timber Pines, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 at the Pasco-Hernando Hospice House, Brooksville.
Born in Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., she moved to this area 18 years ago from Allentown, Pa. She was retired from the Allentown, Pa., school district; a member of the Eastern Star Perkiomen Chapter #318, East Greenville, Pa.; a member of the Timber Pines Golf Club; and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Julius; a son, Julius of Bethlehem, Pa.; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

William Carpenter, 85, of Brooksville, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Saugerties, N.Y., and moved to this area four years ago from Marion, Ind. He was a retired industrial engineer for Bell Fibre Corporation and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Carpenter of Toronto, Canada, and Brian N. Carpenter of Brooksville; two daughters, Jeanie Carpenter of Brooksville and Susan Wischeoffer of Villa Park, Ill.; two sisters, Nelly Hatter of Valley Springs, N.Y., and Carrie France of Saugerties; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Grace Giordano, 92, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at her home.
She was born in Bari, Italy, and moved to this area 10 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She was a retired seamstress with the International Ladies Garment Union, New York, and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Angelo; a son, Steve of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Dolores D'Anna of Spring Hill; and four grandchildren.

Martha Ann Sundholm, 84, of Palm Harbor, formerly of Spring Hill and Largo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at Manor Care of Palm Harbor.
She was born in Jonesboro, Ky., moved to Spring Hill in 1981, and moved to Palm Harbor two years ago. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Sundholm of Tarpon Springs and Jack Sundholm of Punta Gorda; two daughters, Cathy Allen of Lakeland and Becky Ayers of Sault St. Marie, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Donald Robert Hensen, 69, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Mount Clemens, Mich., and moved to this area seven years ago from Shenandoah, Iowa. He was a retired Methodist Minister, a Korean and Vietnam War U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carson, Iowa, and Brookridge Golf and Country Club, and attended Suncoast Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; four sons, Jesse F. Hensen of Jefferson, Ohio, Mace A. Hensen of Burlington, Iowa, Lance A. Hensen of Shenandoah and Cory M. Hensen of Clarinda, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren.

Iantha "Nan" Schoengrund Petrillo, 82, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at home.
She was born in Bloomingdale, N.J., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Clifton, N.J. She retired as a meat wrapper for Foodtown in Passaic, N.J., after 25 years of service, and was a member of UFCW Local 464A.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Kristie Lynn O'Neill of Hawthorne, N.J.; two sisters, Charlotte McCormick and Alberta Bird, both of Port Richey; and several nieces and nephews.

Edward T. Murray Sr., 78, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Boston, Mass., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Tucker, Ga. He was a retired district manager for AT&T and Southern Bell. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne; four sons, Peter T. of St. Petersburg, Christopher J. of Covington, Ga., Edward T. Jr. of Snellville, Ga., and Stephen F. of Spring Hill; three daughters, Susan Larsen of Acushnet, Mass., Victoria Neville of Holiday, and Beth Ann Maryman of Hoschton, Ga.; a sister, Mary Mullen of Dedham, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Elias A. Hewitt, 90, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at Windsor Woods Retirement Community, Hudson.
He was born in Samara, Russia, and moved to this area 29 years ago from Camp Hill, Pa. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant with 27 years of service. He was a World War II and Korean conflict veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked with the Inspector General's office and also retired from the Mechanicsburg Supply Depot. He was a charter member of Elks Lodge 2582, Moose Lodge 521, Legionnaire, HRRVC and DAV. He sang with church choirs and choral societies in every area that he lived. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine M.; two daughters, Sue Van Horn of Irwin, Pa., and Barbara Adams of Camp Hill; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Steven D. Howes, 40, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Springfield. He worked as a greenskeeper at Ludlow Country Club in Ludlow, Mass., and also performed small engine repair. He was a member of The Assembly of God Church and a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his mother, Priscilla Amos of Brooksville; a sister, Elaine Howes of Brooksville; a brother, Michael Howes of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Walter I. Mathias, 71, of Brooksville, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Anderson, Ind. and moved to this area 10 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. He was a retired contractor and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his sons, Michael of Colorado Springs, Colo. and David of Greenville, S.C.; daughters Kathy Rearick of Kettering, Ohio and Patsy Storie of Clayton, Ohio; sisters Ruth Manson and Gayle Heinlein, both of Brooksville; and seven grandchildren.

Merle Biggs, 79, of Brooksville, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at her residence.
She was born in Andalusia, Ala., and moved to this area 48 years ago from Andalusia, Ala. She was a homemaker and Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her son, John of Spring Hill; daughter Linda Meier of Brooksville; two brothers, John and Jackie Holloway of Brooksville; four sisters, Bernice Scoggins, Thelma Click, Margaret Schall of Brooksville, and Ann Biggs of Andalusia, Ala.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Teresa G. Okula-Aeger, 66, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at the Hospice Care Center in Brooksville.
She was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and moved to this area 23 years ago from Savannah, Ga. She was Greek Orthodox by faith. She was the former owner of Kate Black Designs Florist in Spring Hill and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her son, Paul Okula of Brooksville; three daughters, Irene Wilds of Tampa, Fla., Michele West of Flagler Beach, Fla., and Karen Kastrenakes of Spring Hill; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

George E. White, 87, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 at Hernando Pasco Hospice Unit in Brooksville.
He was born in New York, N.Y. and moved to this area 32 years ago from Hauppaauge, Long Island, N.Y.
He was a retired U.S. Postal carrier and retired school bus driver for the Pasco County School System. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maria; a son, George, Jr. of Ferndale, Wash.; a daughter, Joyce Joosten of Hicksville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Isabell C. "Blondie" Joerger, 85, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 at Spring Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Queens, N.Y. and was a retired bookkeeper for J.C. Penny. She enjoyed reading and cooking. She was a member of VFW Post 5247 Ladies Auxiliary in Narrowsburg, N.Y. She was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include Mike Joerger of Spring Hill; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

James E. "Jim" Jeffries, 71, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003 at Regional medical Center Bayonet Point.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area five years ago from Pennsylvania. He retired after 35 years as a truck driver and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and collecting stamps and coins. He was Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; two daughters, Julie Menkevich of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jeanette Aksu of Lancaster, Pa.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Elizabeth 'Betty' J. Gothie, 85, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She moved to this area 26 years ago from her native Norristown, Pa. She was a retired bookkeeper for Alan Wood Steel Company and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
She is survived by her nephew, George Robert of Malvern, Pa.

Burton Lerner, 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area eight years ago from New York City, N.Y. He was a retired salesman and a member of Knights of Pythias, N.Y., Coastal Conservation Association and Hernando Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his brother, Stanley of Spring Hill.

He was born in Richmond, Va., and moved to this area five years ago from Hollis, N.Y. He was an electronic technician for Grumman Aerospace, Bethpage, Long Island, N.Y., where he played a major role in the first moon launch. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, served as Deacon of First Church of God, Jamaica, N.Y., Pastor of Visitation at First Baptist Church, Flushing, N.Y., and Chaplain at both Oak Hill Hospital and Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was a member of Northcliffe Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Frank T. of Bronx, N.Y.; two daughters, Marlene Chisholm of Jamaica, N.Y., and Cheryl Johnson of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Julius Chisholm of Spring Hill; a sister, Bernice Chisholm of Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
