He was born in Greenwich, Conn., and moved to this area 21 years ago from North Hampton, Mass. He was a member of the 1st Marine Division Association and the National Association of Federal Employees.

John Hermans, 79, of Hudson, formerly of Spring Hill, died Friday, July 18, 2003 at home.
He was born in Garfield, N.J., and moved to Hudson a year ago from Spring Hill. He had moved to Spring Hill 14 years ago from Agawam, Mass. He retired from Northeast Contractors, Chicopee, Mass., and also had worked for Roy M. Wright Construction Co., Springfield, Mo., as superintendent for many years. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie C.; four sons, Bruce M. Hermans of Granby, Mass., Blaire A. Hermans and John P. Hermans, both of Southwick, Mass., and Scott M. She was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was a former lifeguard and former volunteer at St. Sylvester's Church and Grammar School in Staten Island. She attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, where she was a volunteer for their thrift store.
