Lee Allen Woods, 81, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Benton, Iowa, and moved to this area 12 years ago from Benton. He retired as a technician from the Kennedy Space Center. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two sons, Phillip and Bradley, both of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Monica of Sacramento; a stepdaughter, Candy Rilay of Houston, Texas; a sister, Wilma Rilay of Belleview, Wash.; a stepson, David; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include her daughter, Carlota Lugo Ozores of Spring Hill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Eileen T. Murphy, 88, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Highland, Wis., and moved to this area 22 years ago from Bay Village, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, James E.; a son, James Patrick of Avon Lake, Ohio; and two granddaughters.

Mae C. Thompson, 94, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 in Brooksville.
She was born in Waterville, Maine, and moved to this area 21 years ago from Darien, Conn. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Cyr of Waterville; two sisters, Jacqueline Nichols and Jean Crockett, both of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.

Albert C. Darras, 85, of Rochester Hills, Mich., formerly of Royal Oak, Mich. and Port Richey, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 at Sunrise Nursing Center, Rochester, Mich.
He was born in Detroit, Mich. He was an executive with Chrysler Corporation and had led the formation of Chrysler Financial for the company. He was past president of the Dad's Club at Shrine of the Little Flower Church, Royal Oak, Mich., and the Brooksville Country Club and Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; four daughters, Carol Krenkel of Fenton, Mich., Judith Haynes of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Cynthia Kruse of Rochester Hills and Maribeth Hogoboom of California; two stepdaughters, Kay Lavelle of North Carolina and Sue Hahn of Pennsylvania; two stepsons, Tom Long and Bill Long, both of Pennsylvania; a brother, Robert; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Olive M. Garner, 87, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at her home.
She was born in Dover, Del., and moved to this area 27 years ago from Gulfport. She was a retired seamstress. She was a supporter and contributed to the American Bible Society, Wycliff Translators Society and Overseas Missions Society (OMS) and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her son, Roy Garner of Spring Hill; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Gregoria "Gloria" Baez, 70, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area 11 years ago from Bronx, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Jesus Ruiz; a son, Frank Maceira of Spring Hill; three sisters, Providencia Baez, Consuelo Baez and Arcadia Baez, all of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Sabino Baez of Puerto Rico and Secundino Baez of New Jersey; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and moved to this area 16 years ago from Tarpon Springs. He was a retired welder for the Cold Pump and Machinery Company, Tampa, and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona; a son, David Sosa of Spring Hill; a daughter, Dianna Hine of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Edwin Sosa of Miami; two sisters, Gladys Matos of Long Island, N.Y., and Nelly Portillo of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.

Margaret A. Scalice-Hinsch, 83, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003.
She was born in Newark, N.J., and moved to this area five years ago. She had an extensive career in all fields of bowling including founding many youth, senior and handicap bowling programs. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame of both the Suffolk County and Long Island Junior Bowling Association.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Scalice and Jerry Scalice; a daughter, Patricia Maragos; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Verne Carter Ross, 61, of Brooksville, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.

He was retired from the Hernando County Property Appraisers Office, a retired U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Hernando Lodge 97, Brooksville, Scottish Rite Tampa Consistory, and Egypt Temple Shrine, Past Worthy Grand Patron of Eastern Star Chapter 76, life member of AMVETS Post 48, Brooksville, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; a son, Oscar "Buddy" Palmer of Spring Hill; a daughter, Beverly Copeland of Hammond, La.; a brother, Edward Murray Ross of Inglis; a sister, Mary Kay Strelecky of Brooksville; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

William B. McCoy, 56, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002 at home.
He was a native of Mitchell, Ga., and moved to this area seven years ago from Orangeburg, S.C. He was a construction roofer.
Survivors include three sisters, Frances Dangerfield, Susan Coleman and Lillian Coleman, all of Brooksville; three brothers, J.R. Coleman of Thompson, Ga., and Ellis and Tommy, both of Barnwell, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marion Huhn, 82, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002 at Heartland Nursing Home.
She was born in Opelika, Ala., and moved to this area 32 years ago from Miami. She managed and operated the restaurant at Brooksville Golf & Country Club for many years in the early days of the club and was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Hackett of Plantation, Fla.; two brothers, George Smith of North Miami Beach and Donald Smith of Salem, N.Y.; a sister, Dorothy Hanson of New York City, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Carl V. Toto, 75, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 at Oak Hill Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Peter and Sybil of Spring Hill; a sister, Annamarie DeCandie of Atlantic Beach, N.Y.; a niece, Janine DeCandie of Atlantic Beach; and a nephew, Michael DeCandie of Atlantic Beach.

William R. Yost, 86, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area 25 years ago from his native Chicago, Ill. He was a retired machinist for Teletype Corp. and a member of Brooksville Elks Lodge 2582.
He is survived by his caregiver, Richard Case of Brooksville.

Michael Holod, 81, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 at Heather Hill Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey.
He was born in Stry, Ukraine, Russia, and moved to this area seven years ago from High Bridge, N.J. He was a lifetime firefighter in High Bridge, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a machinist for Taylor & Worton Steel Company, New Jersey, a custodian for Voorchees High School, High Bridge, and a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Posts, Flemington, N.J.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Janet M. Cowart of Stockton, N.J.; a brother, Andrew of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Long of New Jersey; and five granddaughters, all of Stockton.

Evelyn M. Lugiewicz, 83, of High Point, Brooksville died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Oak Hill Hospital.

She was a retired legal secretary, a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 76, Amaranth Past Royal Matron, and a member of Brooksville WomanÕs Club and Mariner United Methodist Church, where she was active in all church activities.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Edward of Brooksville and Herbert Workman of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Joan Huntwork of Tampa and Lana Marie Smith of Minnesota; two sisters, Genevieve M. Herbert of Royal Oak, Mich., and Helen V. Dusek of Saginaw; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
