He was born in Strasburg, Pa., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Stroudsburg, Pa. He was an aeronautical engineer for 20 years for Bendix-Gruman-Fairchild Aviation Companies. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, made polished stone jewelry, was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving as Lt. Commander on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific, an avid model train engineer, and a Christian by faith.
