Manuel Ray Cheek, 75, of Brooksville, died Sunday, March 26, 2006. He was born in Wallins Creek, Ky., and moved to this area 52 years ago.
Mr. Cheek was self-employed and sold palm, oak and citrus trees. He was a Christian and a charter member of Garden Grove Baptist Church.

Carlo Pirro, 81, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. He was born in Leominster, Mass., and moved to this area 21 years ago from Bronx, N.Y.
Mr. Pirro was a construction iron worker, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, longtime member of VFW Post 10209 and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Elaine LaRose Aiken, 77, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She was born in Elkhart, Ind., and moved to this area 26 years ago from Mancelona, Mich.
Mrs. Aiken was a seamstress, a member of the VFW Post of Elkhart, past UAW president and a Catholic by faith.

Ralph Danna, 85, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Danna was born in the Bronx in New York, N.Y., and moved to the area in 1984 from Fairlawn, N.J. He was a security officer for over 25 years with the Public Faucet Company in New York.
Mr. Danna was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Moose and the Eagles of Spring Hill and the Elks lodge in Brooksville. Survivors include four sons: Louis, Joseph and Ralph of Spring Hill and Jimmy of South Carolina; two daughters, Janice Jenkins and Phyllis Switz, both of New Jersey; a sister, Fannie Canitella of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Frank M. Peters, 100, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at his home. Born in Canada, he came here seven years ago from New Hyde Park, N.Y. He was the owner and operator of Peters Floor Covering in New York and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill.
Survivors include his two sons Robert J. Peters of Danbury, Conn. and Thomas J. Peters of Port Jefferson, N.Y.; one daughter, Susan G. Zooberg of Spring Hill; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Eva S. Ivkovic, 77, of Brooksville, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. She was a native of St. Hubert, Yugoslavia and a resident of this area for the past five years coming from Niles, Ill. She was a homemaker and member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Gustav; a son, Robert of Vernon Hills, Ill.; two daughters, Elvira Pappas of Park Ridge, Ill. and Daniela Sholey, of Niles, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

Kenneth P. Kendzierski, 63, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. He was a native of Chicago, and a resident of this area for the past 21 years coming from Lockport, Ill. He was a retired U.S. Postal clerk, a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War, and a member of VFW Post 8681 in Spring Hill. He was also a member of American Legion Paradise Post 79 in New Port Richey, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees of Spring Hill and the National Association of Realtors. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; his mother, Ann; a brother, Michael Kendzierski of Romeoville, Ill.; three nieces, two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

Anna Maya McGuire, 73, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at her home. She retired after 24 years as a central supply technician at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. She was a member of the Latin American Club in Spring Hill and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Maurice Leo Rousseau, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at his residence. He was General Foreman of the Nuclear Power Division of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and retired after 33 years. He was a retired Navy Veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of VFW, attended Riverside Methodist Church in Kezar Falls, Maine and Mariner United Methodist Church of Spring Hill.

She was a U.S. Air Force veteran, served with Miss Dee Terjesen in Sister to Sister throughout the state of Florida, and was a member of the American Legion.

William J. Cockerill, 71, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Heron Pointe Health & Rehabilitation.
He was born in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area four years ago from Patchogue, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired owner/operator of William & Sons Flooring, Mastic, N.Y. He also worked as recreational coordinator for the village of Patchogue Recreation Department, where he oversaw and participated in adult and children's sporting events. He wrote the sports column for the Long Island Advance Newspaper. He was an orderly at Saint Charles Hospital, Port Jefferson, and a Korean War U.S. Marine Corps veteran, for which he was awarded many metals, including the Purple Heart.

In 1961, he assisted with building the Assembly of God Church, Lockport.
