Melba Ree Rain of Archer, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in Gainesville. She was 91.
She was born in Brooker and moved to the area 40 years ago from High Springs. She was a secretary, loved sewing and music and was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Larry E. Sikes, Alachua; grandson, Larry Sikes, Jr., Bronson; granddaughter, Robin Sumner, Live Oak; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Sumner, Live Oak.
Arrangements were under the care of Knauff Funeral Home, Williston.

Donald "Donny" Hoover, Jr. 46
Donald "Donny" Hoover, Jr. of Old Town, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2003, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. He was 46.
He was born in Tampa, and came to the area three years ago from Ohio. He was a truck driver and attended Rock Sink Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife, Della Hoover, Riverview; sons, Steven Medaris, Andrew Rauch and Anthony Hoover, all of Riverview; sisters, Wanda Rutledge, Tampa, Janet Morris, Old Town and Judy Skeeles, Riverview; brothers, Carl Hoover, Riverview and Wayne Hoover, Old Town; parents, Donald and Janie Hoover, Old Town; 11 nieces and nephews, 3 great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m., on Nov. 5, at Rock Sink Baptist Church, with Rev. Al Laroe officiating. Donations may be made to Rock Sink Baptist Church.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Chiefland.
Thelma Elizabeth Colter, 86
Thelma Elizabeth Colter of Trenton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003. She was 86.
Mrs. Colter was born in Centerville, N.Y., and came to the area eight years ago from Virginia. She is a retired production worker for Mallory Timers Company of Warsaw, N.Y.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Sears, Trenton, Linda Rauh, West Melbourne, Fla., and Mary Lynn Hewitt, Delevan, N.Y.; son, Richard Wayman, Port St. John, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 8, at Fanning Springs Community Church, with Pastor David Jones officiating.
Donations may be made to Hospice of the Tri-Counties or Fanning Springs Community Church.
