Mellie Williams
Mellie Williams of Chiefland died Thursday in Gainesville. She was 65.
Mrs. Williams was born in Williston and was a lifetime resident of this area. She was a homemaker, and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Williams of Chiefland; sons Tommy Williams of Chiefland and Gary Williams of Archer; a daughter, Sheila Williams of Chiefland; a brother, Jewel Lewis of Trenton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Harriet "Ginger" Flynn
Harriet "Ginger" Flynn of Bronson died August 7, 2004, at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation in Trenton. She was 82.
Mrs. Flynn was born in New London, Conn., and moved to Bronson from Greensboro, N.C., 30 years ago.
She was a member of Bronson's First Baptist Church, where she was involved with Ladies In Action, Sunday School and Children's Church. She was a seamstress and an accomplished artist.
She was preceded in death by sons Mark Flynn and Timothy Flynn.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Flynn; sons David Flynn of Cocoa, Eric Flynn of Fayetteville, N.C., and Thomas Flynn of Denver; a daughter, Anne Marie Quincey of McDonough, Ga.; sisters Alice Enmeier of Pinehurst, N.C., and Carolyn Slamka of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

W.D. "Bill" Batey
W.D. "Bill" Batey of Archer died Monday in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was 88.
Mr. Batey was born in Jacksonville and moved to Archer from Gainesville in 1939.
He was a retired engineer for Maddox Foundry, and a rancher and farmer.
He was a former Archer city councilman and a member of Alachua County Cattleman's Association and Florida Farm Bureau.
He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Archer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth M. Batey.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Batey Green of Archer; sons William D. Batey Jr., Frank A. Batey and Thomas M. Batey, all of Archer; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Josephine Harrington
Josephine Harrington of Cedar Key died Sunday in Homerville, Ga. She was 90.
Mrs. Harrington was born in Baltimore and moved to Cedar Key from Gainesville in 1963. She was a retired farmer, and a Catholic.
She loved animals, and was known by family and friends as "Granny" and "Miss Jo."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Harrington, and a stepdaughter, Betty Ellingsworth.
Survivors include sons Marvin Harrington of Rosewood and Ray Harrington of Chiefland; daughters Joan Fansler of Cedar Key and Chrissie Williams of Homerville; a stepdaughter, Stella George of Easton, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
