Allen O. Whitted
Allen O. Whitted of Chiefland died March 22, 2004, at his home. He was 68.
Mr. Whitted was born in Lansing, Mich., and moved to this area from Elmira, N.Y., 14 years ago. He was a retired brick mason.
He was a member of Chiefland Golf and Country Club.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Swendson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosanne Whitted of Chiefland; daughters Tammie Sue Lewis of New Orleans and Donna Carpenter of Kinard, La.; sons Allen Thomas Whitted of New Orleans and Jason M. Sine of Yellow Springs, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Sage of South Florida; 11 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Mary Smith Oliver
Mary Smith Oliver of Williston died June 1, 2004, at Williston Health Care Center. She was 100.
Mrs. Oliver was born and raised in Williston, and returned there from Sanford, where she lived for many years, in 2001. She was a homemaker. She was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oliver.
Survivors include sisters Lillie Strong and Mary Welch, both of Williston; six grandchildren; and many great-grand- children.

James Monroe Sr.
James Monroe Sr. of Williston died May 29, 2004, at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was 65.
Mr. Monroe was born in Williston and was a lifetime resident. He was a retired molder for Maddox Foundry.
He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Williston.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Vernett Brown of Williston; daughters Marilyn Haney of Mansfield, Ohio, and Quilla Mae Oates and Nicole Monroe, both of Williston; sons Samuel Allen Monroe of Ocala and James Joseph Monroe Jr. of Middleburg; his stepmother, Betty Monroe of Williston; brothers Timothy Monroe and Freddie Monroe, both of Williston; sisters Georgia Mae Monroe and Marie Williams, both of Williston, and Lula Mae Coleman of Orlando; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William Edward White
William Edward White of Williston died June 6, 2004, at Surrey Place Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ocala. He was 96.
Mr. White was born in Neil's Landing and was a lifetime resident of the Williston area. He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Archer, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by a son, J.E. White.
Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Nettie White of Williston; a son, Bobby White of Hastings; daughters Dolores "Dee" Joyner of Williston and Edwina Asbell of Ocala; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
