Edward F. Nizdil, 84, of Ellenton, died June 27, 2001.
Memorial service will be held in Dearborn, Mich. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Nizdil came to Manatee County from Michigan in 1982. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post No. 24 in Bradenton.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; three daughters, Jill Piziali of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Gail Abbassian of Canonsburg, Pa., and Carol Broughton of Canton, Mich.; a son, Paul, of West Linn, Ore.; a brother, Arthur Hnizdil of Fenton, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ralph A. Burzenski, 87, of Bradenton, died June 28, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Ironwood, Mich., Mr. Burzenski came to Manatee County from Milwaukee 50 years ago. He was an inventor. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Pat Hietpas and Shirly Hutchison, both of Wisconsin; five stepsons, Bernard Cybela, Eddie Cybela, Roy Cybela, Don Scheehy and Cliff Scheehy, all of Wisconsin; a brother, Leonard, of Sarasota; and several stepgrandchildren.

Agnes Elizabeth Cook, 75, of Bradenton, died June 29, 2001, in Blake Medical Center.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m., at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 5624 26th St. W. Service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St. W. Burial will be in Fogartyville Cemetery, Bradenton.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Miss Cook came to Manatee County from Cedar Knolls, N.J., in 1981. She was systems manager for AT&T of New York and New Jersey before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include a niece, Kate C. Wolf of Nokesville, Va.; and four nephews, William, of Bristow, Va., Greg, of Virginia, Richard, of Fairfax, Va., and John, of Purcellville, Va.

Joan Evelyn Edell, 90, of Ellenton, died June 28, 2001, in a caregiver's home in Palmetto.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Edell came to Manatee County from Sarasota in 1997. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Dale Tessler of Ellenton; two sons, Dennis, of Toronto, and David, of New York; three sisters, Mary Roth of New York, Rachel Lewis of Toronto, and Roslyn Epstein of Fort Lauderdale; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Laurino came to Manatee County from Lynbrook, N.Y., in 1978. She was executive secretary for Mobil Oil Co. in New York before retiring. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carmine J.; and a sister, Helen Packinger of Bradenton.

Born in Jonesville, S.C., Mrs. Mathis came to Manatee County from there in 1910. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Manatee Baptist Church of Bradenton.

Albert Rowe, Jr.

Albert Rowe, Jr., 80, of Fenton, Mich., died June 28, 2001, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Dr. David Bowser officiating. Entombment will be in Tyrone Memory Gardens, Fenton. Born in Hudson, Ind., Mr. Rowe came to Palmetto after retirement. He worked for AC Spark Plug, retiring in 1976 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in WWII. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 3, West Flint Church of the Nazarene, U.A.W., and the Flint Auxiliary Fire Department. Mr. Rowe served on the Mt. Morris, Mich., School Board as secretary and treasurer, and was involved in Cub Scouts of America in Mt. Morris. He was a former member of the Mt. Morris Methodist Church and Richfield Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Gloria J. Lindsay of Fenton.; a son, Robert A., of Flint; and four grandchildren.

Harland J. Shaurette, 75, of Palmetto, died June 30, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Milwaukee, Mr. Shaurette came to Manatee County from New York in 1963. He was one of the first Eucharistic ministers appointed by the bishop of St. Petersburg and was very active in the Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne; four sons, Thomas, Richard, Mark and Donald; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Daniel Patrick Squires, 20, of Bradenton, died July 2, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. Friday at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., followed by a 4 p.m. service there with the Rev. Max E. Smith officiating.
Born in Beatrice, Neb., Mr. Squires came to Manatee County from Omaha, Neb., in 1999.
Survivors include two sisters, Angela McSpadden of Bradenton, and Kara, of St. Petersburg; two brothers, Sean and Kevin, both of Bradenton; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Bill Nelson of Bradenton; his stepmother, Rosella Squires of Omaha; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Francis Wegner of Wisconsin; and his paternal grandfather, Dee Squires of Lakeland.
