Margaret Drew, 87, of Bradenton and formerly of Holmes Beach, died Dec. 13, 2001 in Surrey Place Convalescent Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, with the Rev. Gary Batey officiating. Burial will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto. Memorial contributions can be made to Roser Memorial Community Church, 512 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, Fla., 34216.
Born in Michigan, Mrs. Drew came to Manatee County during the late 1940s. She was an elementary school teacher for 31 years and retired from Anna Maria Elementary School in 1987. She attended Roser Memorial Community Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Cannon.

Marion Adelaide Ashe Ellis, 84, of Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2001, in Surrey Place Convalescent Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at Congregational United Church of Christ, 3700 26th St. W., Bradenton, with the Rev. Paul Scheele officiating. Brown & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements. Born in Detroit, Mrs. Ellis came to Manatee County in 1982 from Freesoil, Mich. She was an accountant for Northwestern National Insurance Co. until retiring in 1980. She attended Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Post 18 and American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24, and was a volunteer at American Red Cross.
Survivors include a son, Ronald E. Klepper, of Satsuma; a sister, Doris Flynn of Lake Forest, Ill., and Largo, Fla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Virgilio C. Fernandez, 70, of Sarasota (Manatee County), died Dec. 14, 2001 at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 5624 26th St. W., Bradenton. There will be no services.
Born in Cuba, Mr. Fernandez came to Manatee County in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen; a daughter, Maridza Munch of Sarasota; two sons, Dionisio, of Tampa and Victor, of Bradenton; two sisters and three brothers, all of Cuba; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Anna Mae "Ann" Gilmore Hicks, 85, of Columbia, Tenn., and formerly of Bradenton, died Dec. 14, 2001.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Manasota Memorial Park, 5350 15th St. E., Bradenton. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of choice. Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Born and raised in Manatee County, Mrs. Hicks moved to Tennessee 45 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton J. Sr., of Columbia; and a son, Scott, of Nashville, Tenn.

Chester Donald Otto, 83, of Bradenton, died Nov. 30, 2001, at home. Private services will be at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg. Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Middleburg, Md., Mr. Otto came to Manatee County from Fort Lauderdale 20 years ago. He worked as an acoustical tile installer and owned a roofing company.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; a stepdaughter, Beverly Gladys Miller Smith of Bradenton; a stepson, Kenneth Edward Sloan of Palmetto; a brother, Kenneth; and two sisters, including Dae Seitz of Sugar Land, Texas .

Annie L. Parkhurst, 87, of Bradenton, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Freedom Village Nursing Center.

Born in Nicaragua, Mrs. Parkhurst came to Manatee County from New Jersey in 1982. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Moore, and the Suncoast Blues Society.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Laurie O'Shea of Bradenton and Carol Kuiper of Colorado; two stepsons, Stephen Beecher of New Jersey and Gordon Beecher of Connecticut; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Born in Columbia, Miss., Mr. Rushing came to Manatee County from Belleville, Ill., in 1985. He was a communications management specialist with the Civil Service and a clerk at the Bradenton Herald. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and World War II. He attended Church of the Cross.
Survivors include his wife, Lora; a daughter, Kathleen Dawsey of Sarasota; two sons, Richard, of Manchester, Tenn., and James, of Mascouta, Ill.; two sisters, Ettress Randall of Texas and Beatrice Singley of Mississippi; four granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Lizabeth Davis and Michelle, both of Palmetto; two sons, William F. Evertts and Richard J., both of Bradenton; a sister, Patricia Roman of Elmira, N.Y.; two brothers, Erwin Evertts and Howard Evertts, both of Elmira, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Viola C. (Emch) Arnold, 101, of Bradenton, died Dec. 9, 2001, in Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.
