Born in Cleveland, he came to Manatee County in 1986 from Cleveland. He was a general contractor. He was a member of Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Royalton, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Sheryl Claycomb of Medina, Ohio, and Kelly Pearce of Indian Trail, N.C.; a son, Scott, of Orrville, Ohio; a sister, Susan Foulds of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Jack, of Etowah, N. C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lillie Cheaves, 81, of Bradenton, died Oct. 17, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Church of Christ, 201 Martin Luther King Ave. E., in Bradenton. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Brother Larry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fogartyville Cemetery.
Born in Griffin, Ga., Mrs. Cheaves came to Manatee County from Georgia many years ago.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Jr., of Palmetto, and Clarence, of Sarasota; and 15 grandchildren.

William D. Droegemeier, 68, of Bradenton, died Oct. 25, 2001, in Hospice House of Bradenton.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the family's residence. Bradenton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
Mr. Droegemeier was born in Kanopolis, Kan. He retired in 1991 from the U.S. Postal Service, after 15 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Kathie Coe and Vickie Penny, both of Omaha, Neb.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Ferris of Rockford, Ill.; a son, William C., of Omaha; a stepson, John Ferris of Bradenton; and seven grandchildren.
Ina L. Dycus

Ina L. Dycus, 71, of Bradenton, died Oct. 24, 2001, at home.
Service will be in Akron, Ohio. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park in Akron. Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Akron, Mrs. Dycus was a winter resident of Manatee County since 1971 and a permanent resident since 1999. She was a homemaker. She was Protestant.
Survivors include her husband, Charles B.; three daughters, Linda Hagerty of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Charlene Gear and Cheryl Evans, both of Bradenton; a son, Charles B. Jr.; four sisters, Faye Boggs and Helen Lundy, both of Talmadge, Ohio, Betty Leppert of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Barbara Stevenor, of Akron; a brother, C.R. Carden of Akron; and eight grandchildren.

Henry John Grabowski, 81, of Bradenton, died Oct. 20, 2001, in Integrated Health Services of Bradenton.
There will be no service. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 43rd Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., Mr. Grabowski came to Manatee County from Chesapeake, Va., in 1984. He was a retired computer engineer from General Electric Corporation in Syracuse and in Portsmouth, Va., where he was employed for 43 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise L. Grabowski-Shafer of Bradenton.
Vincent Hoffman

Vincent Hoffman, 86, of Ellenton, died Oct. 21, 2001, in Westminster Health Center in Bradenton.
Memorial service will be at a later date. Interment will be in Illinois. The Neptune Society of Palm Harbor is in charge of cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Born in Golf, Ill., Mr. Hoffman came to Manatee County from Prospect Heights, Ill., in 1973. He was retired from the purchasing department of the former Commonwealth Edison Co., now known as Exxon, in Chicago, after 32 years of service. He attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Palmetto, where he served as head usher. He served in the U.S. Army, 718th Railway Operating Battalion, in Europe during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 42 in Bradenton, and past president of the Bradenton Lawn Bowling Club, and the Elmwood Bowling Club in London, Ontario.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen.

Bette J. Jorgensen, 72, of Bradenton, died Oct. 23, 2001, in H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Free Church of Bradenton, 1511 Morgan Johnson Road. Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Frazee officiating. Survivors include her husband, Richard Carl; four sons, Richard Martin, of Savannah, Ga., and Dean Alan, David Kent and Drew Evan, all of Bradenton; a brother, John Kenneth Elholm of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Paul Edward Kjellander, 92, of Bradenton, died Oct. 20, 2001, in Hospice House of Bradenton.
Masonic service conducted by the Delta Lodge of Masons was at an earlier date. Service will be 11 a.m. today at Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree, Mass., with the Rev. Born in Braintree, Mr. Kjellander came to Manatee County from Halifax, Mass., recently, and was also a winter resident for approximately 20 years. He was a general foreman and machinist at Townsend Co. in Braintree. He was a member of the Masonic Order for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; two daughters, Carol Wyman of Bradenton, and Lois Cairns of Rockland, Mass.; a sister, Lydia Carlson of New Hampshire; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Virginia Sue McGhee

Virginia Sue McGhee, 87, of Redington Shores, formerly of Bradenton, died Oct. 23, 2001, in Oak Tree Manor, Seminole.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. today in the Bobbitt Chapel at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 7820 38th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Service will be 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Percival officiating. Burial will be in Flora Hills Cemetery, Flora, Ill.
Born in Wayne County, Ill., Ms. McGhee came to Manatee County from Flora. She was a nurse in charge at Flora Illinois Hospital in the 1950s and a nurse at the Manatee County Public Health Department, until her retirement in 1974. She attended Central Christian Church in St. Petersburg. She was a former member of the Local, State and National Nurses Association.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Truman, of Redington Shores; a sister, Helen Smith of St. Petersburg; a brother, Paul Pittman of Vandalia, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
