Doris M. Carter, 84, of Bradenton, died Sept. 29, 2001, in Blake Medical Center.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Christian Church, 3604 15th Ave. W., in Bradenton. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial in Greenville, S.C. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements. Born in Monroe, Ga., Mrs. Carter came to Manatee County from Duncan, S.C., in 1979. She was the owner of Jones Toy Shop and was retired from Pacific Mills, both in South Carolina. She attended Westside Christian Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Greer, S.C., and the American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Varner of Bradenton, and Evelyn Duncan of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Deloris Robertson of Bradenton; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Julienne C. Curtis, 78, of Bradenton, died Sept. 8, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Anna B. Gardner, 94, of Bradenton died Sept. 27, 2001, in Integrated Health Systems at the Riverfront.
Memorial Mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton at an earlier date. The Rev. Gerald Critch officiated. The Good Earth Crematory is in charge of cremation arrangements. Born in Erie, Pa., Mrs. Gardner came to Manatee County from there in 1962. She was a housewife. She was an 18-year member of the Perpetual Adoration at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Moorehead of Globe, Ariz.; four sons, Charles and Timothy, both of Bradenton, William of Venice, and Terrance of Erie; three sisters, Louise Snyder and Valentine Catapano, both of Erie, and Helen Lawrence of Mount Laural, N.J.; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Abram Gay Jr., 74, of Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Bradenton, died Sept. 30, 2001, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church in Blairsville. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. George Cline officiating. Mountain View Funeral Home, Blairsville, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Wauchula, Mr. Gay was a former resident of Manatee County. He was a retired mail carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Robin Revell of Blairsville, Kristy Ward of Cleveland, Ga., and Jeanne Dale of Lake Wales; a son, Hank, of Clayton, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Pope of Tampa, and Adele Bullis of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Brady "Rock" Hall, 78, of Bradenton, died Sept. 28, 2001, in Greenbriar Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Bradenton.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Samoset First Baptist Church, 3200 15th St. E., in Bradenton. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Roland Davis officiating. Born in Webster, Mr. Hall came to Manatee County from there in 1926. He was a retired letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service in Bradenton, after 31 years service. He was a member of Samoset First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A.; two daughters, Sherri D. Moore of Palmetto, and Jan H. Ricker of Bradenton; a son, Pat of Bradenton; two sisters, Romie Reid and Esther Champlain, both of Bradenton; a brother, William D. of Bradenton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Martin E. McGuire, 70, of Anna Maria, died Sept. 27, 2001, at home.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 6000 Marina Drive, in Holmes Beach. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bernard Evanofski officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or to any other children's charity in Florida.
Born in Durham, N.C., Mr. McGuire came to Manatee County from there in 1970. He was an army helicopter pilot, was a commercial aviation flier for Shell Oil Co. in South America, and formed a group company and operated helicopters in North Carolina from Quebec to Arizona and from Florida to Alaska. He was the owner of the Carolina Helicopter Co. in North Carolina, was one of the first helicopter traffic reporters and was retired. He was Roman Catholic. He served as a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Hollywood scout and a member of the Republican Party.
Survivors include his companion, Elizabeth Moran of Anna Maria; and three cousins, John Murphy of Lake Worth, and Martin Murphy and Ann Mendia, both of West Palm Beach.
Raymond Ricard

Raymond Ricard, 64, of Bradenton, died Sept. 27, 2001, at home.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., in Cranston, R.I. Service will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Church, Cranston Street, in Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
Born in Providence, R.I., Mr. Ricard came to Manatee County from Cranston in 1993. He was a retired captain from the Cranston Police Department after 26 years of service. He was Catholic. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was president of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers for the City of Cranston; he instituted the Neighborhood Watch Program in Cranston; and he was a coach for GALS softball in Cranston.
Survivors include his wife, Lea J.; two daughters, Karen Brindamour of Cranston, and Ellen Aubin of Belleville, Ill.; two sons, James G., of Pompano Beach, and Glen J., of Jacksonville; his mother, Mary, of Cranston; and two grandchildren.

Irving Shultis, 90, of Bradenton, died Sept. 29, 2001, in Mariner Health Care.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Shannon Funeral Home, 1015 14th St. W., in Bradenton. Service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph W. Amory Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Woodstock, N.Y.
Born in Glenford, N.Y., Mr. Shultis came to Manatee County from there in 1941. He was a retired building contractor. He was Methodist. He was a member of the Antique Bottle Collecting Clubs in Bradenton and in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include three sons, Richard and Wayne, both of Crossville, Tenn., and Dean of Wauchula; a brother, Harvey of Glenford; a sister, Elizabeth Pinelle of New York state; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Gilbert Eugene Wallace, 87, of Palmetto, died Sept. 30, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Thursday at Ellenton Funeral Home, 3411 U.S. 301. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto.
Born in Findley, Ill., Mr. Wallace came to Manatee County from Hammond, Ind., 20 years ago. He was a retired carpenter for the Department of Defense in Fort Sheridan, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mae; two daughters, Brenda Hidalgo of Crown Point, Ind., and Evelyn of Chicago; two sons, Wayne E., of Gainesville, and Dean,, of Cedar Lake, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Service is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church, 2113 Morgan Johnson Road, Bradenton with the Rev. Gary Byram officiating. Entombment will be at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton. Born in Owosso, Mich., Mr. Vincent came to Manatee County in 1955 from Grayling, Mich. He was a retired rancher and a member of the Cattleman's Association of Manatee County. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha, of Gainesville; two daughters, Marilyn McClain and Marlene Beghtel, both of Gainesville; a foster daughter, Zoila Espinosa of Mountain City, Ga.; three sisters, Opal St. John of Ruskin, Barbara Ritter of Prudenville, Mich., and Arlene Simpson of Houghton Lake, Mich.; a brother, Hubert, of St. Johns, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
