Eugene R. Cohenour, 72, of Palmetto, died January 29, 2004.
Visitation: Sunday 3-5 p.m., Shannon Funeral Home, 5610 Manatee Ave. W. Service is Monday, 11 a.m., Holy Cross Catholic Church, 504 26th St. W., Palmetto. Burial is at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton.
Born in Sterling, Ill., Mr. Cohenour came here from Sterling in the early 1940s. He was owner of a floor covering business, attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Air Force - Korea and past President of Florida State Bowling Association, member of Florida State Bowlers Hall of Fame and Past Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, June of Palmetto; daughter Becky (Warren) Bennett of Sarasota; sons Brady (April) Cohenour of Bradenton, Brent (Tammy) Cohenour of Palmetto, Bruce (Brenda) Cohenour of Dallas, Texas; sisters Mary Jo Christie of Parrish, and Jackie (Norm) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Faye Cohenour Jr. of N.C., and eight grandchildren.
Jean M. Ludwig, Myakka City
Jean M. Ludwig, 73, of Myakka City, died January 29, 2004.
Survived by husband of 55 years, John; son, Keith of Myakka City; daughter, Kathy Krueger of Bradenton; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Mildred A. Dunbar, Bradenton
Mildred A. Dunbar, 92, Bradenton Missionary Village, died January 28, 2004.
She is survived by brother, William Dunbar, of Largo.
Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5, at Skyway Memorial Gardens Chapel, with memorial service at Bradenton Missionary Village following at 3 p.m. Bradenton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Richard C. Ross, Ellenton
Richard C. Ross, 63, of Ellenton, went home to be with the Lord, January 27.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Church of the Cross, 5051 26th St. W., with the Rev. Stan Pavkovich officiating. Burial will be at Palma Sola Cemetery, Bradenton.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Ross came to Manatee County, from Akron, 32 years ago. He was a member and former Elder at Church of the Cross.
He is predeceased by his mother, Bertha Ross and brother, Robert Ross, and is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, Richard C. Jr. and Thomas C. (Kristen) of Bradenton; father, Robert C. Ross of Bradenton; brother, David Ross of Akron; and grandchildren Hannah, Charlie and Abby.

Charles H. Pyle, Largo
Charles H. Pyle, 87, of Largo and formerly of Bradenton, died January 28, 2004, at Largo Medical Center.
Born in Coatesville, Pa., he moved to Florida in 1979 from Ocean City, N.J. He was a retired regional sales manager at Lukens Steel in Coatesville, Pa., for over 30 years. Mr. Pyle attended Anona United Methodist Church in Largo, where he was in the Choirliers. He is a 32nd Degree member of Masonic Lodge #564 F&AM in Coatesville, Pa., a member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Tampa, member of Sahib Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Sarasota and was in the Chanters at Sahib Temple. He was Past Commander in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, past chairman of the American Welding Society & American Society of Metals and was a former member of Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Pyle of Largo and Joan Bancroft of Buda, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 2 at 3 p.m. at the Anona Chapel of Prayer. Moss Feaster Funeral Home, (727) 446-2375.
Chawn Ketron Byerley, Bradenton
Chawn Ketron Byerley, of Bradenton, passed away at his home on January 27, 2004.
He was self-employed as a ceramic tile setter and was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Byerley is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandi; his stepson, Bill Sours; his stepdaughters, Mary Puffenburger and Andrea Sours; his mother, Marie Flanders and stepfather, Robert Flanders; sisters, Malonnie Davis and Tonya Byerley; brother, Don Byerley; stepbrother, Robert Flanders Jr. and dearest friend, Don Jones; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jamie Bleakley and father, Clarence Ketron Byerley.

Visitation will be held, Friday, January 30, 6-8 p.m. at Griffith Cline Funeral Home, Manasota Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jonathan Geldmaker officiating. Burial will be at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton.
Walter VanBenschoten, Bradenton
Walter VanBenschoten, 95, Bradenton, died January 28, 2004.
He was a 67 year volunteer and life member of Ramsey Fire Department, Ramsey, N.J.
Survived by daughter, Judy Fisher of Bradenton; three grandchildren; and six great-granddaughters.

Rudolph Freier, 52, of Bradenton, died January 27, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 7-9 p.m., Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton. Service will be on Saturday, January 31, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1220 15th St. W. with Father Patrick Kelly officiating. Burial will take place at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton. Born in Bristol, Conn., Mr. Freier came to this area from Bristol in 1988. He was an HVAC Maintenance Man at Ringling School of Art & Design for 12 years. Mr. Freier was a Catholic and served in the U. S. Army, during Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Bradenton; daughter, Lyndsey Freier of Bradenton; son, Kyle (Nicole) Freier of Bradenton; sisters, Joann Freier and Patricia Dillon of Bristol, Conn.; brothers, Fred Freier of Calif.; Ed Freier of Burlington, Conn.; mother, Jeannie Freier of Bristol, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Marion Palmiter Robson, Palmetto
Marion Palmiter Robson, age 94, passed away on January 26, 2004, after a nine day stay at the Hospice House in Palmetto.
Daughter of Louis and Carrie Palmiter, she was born and raised on a farm just west of Albion, Wis. She graduated from Edgerton, Wisconsin High School in 1928 and attended Milton College for one year. Married in 1929 to Robert Robson of Stoughton, Wisconsin, they farmed in the Edgerton area for many years, followed by a career in live-stock marketing with Equity Co-Operative, operating auction markets in Monroe, Green Bay and Bonduel, Wis. Marion was a bookkeeper during most of her working life. In 1972, they moved to the Coach House Mobile Home Park, Palmetto, in retirement. Marion's husband, Roger, passed away the following year and she lived alone in her home until age 90, when she moved to an assisted living facility where she remained until nine days prior to her death. Throughout her life, Marion was involved in the community, as a 4H leader, PTA officer and church circle member. During her Florida residence, Marion's favorite activity was collecting materials, up to and including mobile homes, for Florida's migrant workers. She was recognized several times by the county for these efforts. Marion enjoyed sewing and crocheting, producing large quantities of tiny caps for premature babies, lap robes for invalids and loads of robes, fancy smocked pillows and other handiwork for family and friends.
A son, Roger Robson, Jr., who lives in Parrish, Fla., four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, survive Marion. Marion was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert and Harry, both of Madison, Wis., and husband, Robert Robson.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., February 9 at the First United Methodist Church of Palmetto, where she was a member for more than 30 years. Placing the ashes will be a private family ceremony at a future date.

Sue B. "Susie" Weld, 65, of Bradenton, died January 27, 2004.
She was born on September 17, 1938, in Champaign, Ill., and moved to Bradenton in 1996 from Smyrna, Ga. She was a homemaker and member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha; Manasota Weavers' Guild; and Caring Friends of Blake Medical Center. She was a member of Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary; and a sister, Ann Butterfield of De Soto, Wis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
