Born in Bellport, N.Y., Mrs. Zimmer came to Manatee County from New York in 1983. She was a dockworker for Dillards.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Patricia Ann Drake and Kelly Ann Cantrell, both of Bradenton; a son, Timothy Allen, of Bradenton; and two grandchildren.
Michelle Lee Iacono, Bradenton
Michelle Lee "Shelly" Iacono, 21, of Bradenton, died July 10, 2003, in Bradenton.

Born in Sarasota, Ms. Iacono lived most of her life in Bradenton. She was an office assistant with Manatee County Utilities. She attended Manatee Community College.
Survivors include her parents, Linda Bentley of Bradenton, and Michael, of Coon Rapids, Minn; two sisters, Angela, of Bradenton, and Julia V., of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Shawn, of Annandale, Minn.; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Zeigler of Bradenton; and her paternal grandparents, Darlene and Richard.

Samuel R. Neel Jr., 89, of Bradenton, died July 11, 2003, in Bradenton Health Care.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Shannon Funeral Home, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3200 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, with the Rev. Robert M. Waddell Sr. officiating. Born in Alderson, W.Va., Dr. Neel came to Manatee County from Tallahassee in 1957. He was the founding president of Manatee Community College, the Dean of Men at Florida State University and an ordained Methodist minister. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Bradenton Kiwanis. He served in the U.S. Army as a chaplain during World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor, of Bradenton; a daughter, Helen Younskevicius of Largo; a stepdaughter, Joann Campbell of Neptune Beach; two sons, Samuel R. III, of Tallahassee, and Richard, of Jacksonville Beach; five stepsons, John and Con Nicholas, both of Sarasota, Brian Nicholas of Ponte Vedra, Edward Nicholas of Bradenton, and William Nicholas of London, England; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Brian T. O'Kane, 53, of Bradenton, died July 6, 2003, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Born in Springfield, Ohio, Mr. O'Kane came to Manatee County from Ohio in 2000. He attended First Assembly of God. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his companion and caretaker, Sondra S. Ball; two brothers, Mark, of California, and Doug, of Colorado; and his father, Thomas, of Massachusetts.

Born in Madison, N.H., Mrs. Szymkowicz came to Manatee County from Rocky Hill, Conn., in 1993. She was an assistant manager for a pharmacy. She was Catholic. She was a member of the National Wood Carvers Association.
Survivors include four daughters, Lorraine M. and Susan Lamarre, both of Rocky Hill, Joyce E. D'Angelo and Cheryl S. DeFurio, both of Cromwell, Conn.; two sons, Stanley J., of Waterboro, Maine, and Joseph E., of Rocky Hill; two brothers, John H. Currier of Bradenton, and Thomas O. Currier of Madison; and 17 grandchildren.

Robert J. Bambrick, 82, of Cleveland, and formerly of Bradenton, died May 28, 2003, in Cleveland.

Born in Cleveland, Mr. Bambrick came to Manatee County from Ohio in 1983. He retired as an attorney and senior vice president of a financial institution in the Cleveland area. He was a charter member of the Saints Peter and Paul The Apostles Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Marines with the 2nd Marine Division in World War II as a 1st Lieutenant in Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa and Japan. He was past president of the Saint Patrick Division No. 1 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Manatee County; the past treasurer and recording secretary of the Knights of Columbus, DeSoto Council 5604, a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree, Padre Luis DeSoto Assembly 1860 and the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta E.; two daughters, Loretta E. Crowley of Medford, N.J., and Rita M. O'Brien of South Russell, Ohio; eight sons, Robert J. Jr., of Eastlake, Ohio, Patrick J., of Westlake, Ohio, James M. and Daniel W., of South Euclid, Ohio, Neil M., of Cincinnati, Michael E., of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Bruce T. and William H., both of Bradenton; and 17 grandchildren.

Mildred Ellen Goldsmith, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, and a winter resident of Manatee County, died May 30, 2003, in Davenport.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady St., Davenport, with the Rev. Ron Huber officiating. Born in Davenport, Mrs. Goldsmith has been a winter resident of Manatee County for 20 years. She was an Iowa state employee. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of South Recreation Center, CASI in Davenport; Duck Creek Ladies Golf League; Heather Hills Golf League and Village Green Golf League.
Survivors include three sons, Gary, of Florida, Steve, of Minnesota, and Tom, of Wisconsin, and eight grandchildren.

Fred Carl Plum, 76, of Palmetto, died May 29, 2003, in Mariner Health of Palmetto.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Plum came to Manatee County from there in 1949. He was the former owner of Bradenton Travel and Palmetto Travel. He was a deacon in his church. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Leanne Mann, of Rome, Ga.; two sons, Gary, of Palmetto, and Kurt, of Tampa; and three grandchildren.
