Nicholas Tuit, 78, of Bradenton, died Feb. 21, 2003, at home.

Born in Prospect Park, N.J., Mr. Tuit came to Manatee County in 1988. He was a retired painter for Morgan Guarantee Trust Co. of New York City. He attended Palma Sola Community Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II, flying in missions as a radio operator with the 337th Bomber Squadron and the 446th Bomb Group. He was a volunteer for Prospect Park, N.J., Boys Club, serving 20 years as assistant treasurer. He served on the Holmes Beach Code Enforcement Board for four years.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma G.; a daughter, Linda Bruno of Vernon, N.J.; three sons, Nicholas Jr., of Suriname, South America, Kenneth, of Wantage, N.J., and David, of Bradenton; two sisters, Alice Bartholf of Alabama, and Agnes Covello of New Jersey; two brothers, John, of North Carolina, and Gus, of Washington; and nine grandchildren.
John C. Rivers Sr., Turtletown, Tenn.
John C. Rivers Sr., 74, of Turtletown, Tenn., and formerly of Manatee County, died Feb. 22, 2003.
Service is 3 p.m. today at Akin Funeral Home in Copperhill, Tenn. Burial will be in Turtle Creek.
Mr. Rivers was born and raised in Bradenton. He was retired.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; four daughters, Carol Mason, Sharon, Juanita Rickets and Cindy Logan; three sons, John Jr., Charles, and John Holton; a sister, Kathy Hughes; a brother, Bill; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Raymond R. Ludwiczak, Jamestown, N.Y.,, and Palmetto
Raymond R. Ludwiczak, 68, of Jamestown, N.Y., and a winter resident of Palmetto, died Feb. 22, 2003, at home in Palmetto.
Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Service will be 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y. Born in Jamestown, Mr. Ludwiczak started wintering in Manatee County in 2000. He attended Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 556 in Frewsburg, N.Y.; Lakewood Rod & Gun Club in Lakewood; Elks Lodge in Palmetto; and Eagles in Jamestown.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Linda Sena of Cordova, Tenn.; two sons, Craig, of Moore, S.C., and Mark, of Orangevale, Calif.; three sisters, Helen, Dorothy, and Alice, all of Jamestown; two brothers, Edward, of Kauai, Hawaii, and John Walker of Jamestown; and four grandchildren.

Ruth L. Vanderpool Locke, 97, of Bradenton, died Feb. 22, 2003, in Bradenton.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 1400 36th Ave. E., Ellenton. Service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. K. Born in Fisk, Mo., Mrs. Locke came to Manatee County from Michigan in 1959. She was a homemaker. She attended First Christian Church of Bradenton. She was a member of the Sunshine Club of Wood Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Ledger of Ormond Beach, and June Vanderpool of Bradenton.

Born in Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. Mahler came to Manatee County from Coloma, Mich., in 1962. She was a retired comptroller. She was Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, Osro S. Scott; two sons, Keith W., of Bradenton, and Ken W., of Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Cheri A. Corbin of Bradenton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Cleveland, Mrs. Bickimer came to Manatee County from Brunswick, Ohio, in 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine M. Moehle of Chippewa Lake, Ohio; a son, John M., of Brunswick; a sister, Clara Yakobic of Cleveland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Glassport, Pa., Mr. Drabik came to Manatee County from Pittsburgh in 1996. He retired as a steel worker after 40 years from McKeesport U.S. Steel National Tube of McKeesport, Pa. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; a daughter, Maryanne, of Bradenton; and a brother, Pete, of Glassport.

Born in Buel, Mich., Mr. Grout came to Manatee County from Morristown, N.J., in 1993. He was the founder of Escom in Sarasota. He was a trustee of Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, a trustee of Dean Junior College of Franklin, Mass., a trustee of Emeretus Morris Animal Foundation in Colorado and a member of the Rotary Club in Longboat Key.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, Doug, of Lee, N.H.; a sister, Shirley French of Clinton, Mich.; a brother, Robert, of Croswell, Mich.; and a grandchild.

Born in Franklin, Mr. Kirby came to Manatee County from there in 1981. He retired from Hoover Ball Bearing Co., Middletown, Ohio, after 10 years. He was a member of Town Boulevard Church of God in Middletown.
Survivors include his wife, Emma M.; three daughters, Darlene Hayes of Nancy, Ky., Shirley G. Mato of Franklin, and Joan D. Pipkin of Bradenton; a son, F. Kenneth, of Somerset, Ky.; a sister, Ruby Wells of Middletown; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Bradley, Ark., Mr. Kline lived most of his life in Manatee County. He was a maintenance worker with Asbury Towers and Bradenton Manor. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bradenton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
