Roy M. Leffler, 73, of Palmetto, died Feb. 2, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Leipsic, Ohio, Mr. Leffler came to Manatee County from Liberty Center, Ohio, in 1991. He was the owner and operator of a grain farm in Liberty Center. He was Methodist. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Stella M.; a stepdaughter, Patricia Carr of Wauseon, Ohio; a stepson, Richard Gillen of Wauseon; a brother, William, of Terra Ceia; and five grandchildren.
Stephen H. Bagshaw, Bradenton
Stephen H. Bagshaw, 52, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Service will be private. Blake Funeral Home, Chelmsford, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Lowell, Mass., Mr. Bagshaw came to Manatee County from Chelmsford 20 years ago. He was a landscaper in the Bradenton area.
Survivors include two brothers, Seth H., of Boxford, Mass., and Mark H., of Pepperell, Mass.
Robert C. Brien, Bradenton
Robert C. Brien, 76, of Bradenton, died Jan. 30, 2003, at home.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Community Baptist Church, 5500 18th St. E. Service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be private in Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, is in charge of arrangements. Born in Detroit, Mr. Brien came to Manatee County from Sarasota in 2002. He was a pastor. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a founding member of Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology, and was a member of the Faithful Witness Track Society.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Phyliss Anne Hammerstrom of Hudson, Ohio; a son, David L., of Bradenton; a brother, William, of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
Joan Caminite-Brown, Bradenton
Joan Caminite-Brown, 66, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Kindred Hospital, St. Petersburg.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 604 43rd St. W. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Saints Peter and Paul The Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th St. W., with Monsignor John McCullagh officiating. Burial will be in Bradenton. Born in London, Ontario, Ms. Caminite-Brown came to Manatee County from there in 1955. She was the general manager at Home True Value of Holmes Beach for the past 27 years. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul The Apostles Catholic Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Deborah K. Byerley and Sharon L. Reed, both of Sarasota, Darlene M. Brown of Clearwater, and Diane E. Vollmer of Bradenton; her mother, Cordilia Caminite of Bradenton; two brothers, Anthony P. Caminite and Rudy N. Caminite, both of Bradenton; and six grandchildren.

Christine C. Powell, 56, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Magnolia Health Care Center, Sarasota.
Memorial service was 7 p.m. Thursday at Ellenton Funeral Home, 3411 U.S. 301 N., Ellenton, with the Rev. A.O. Hendry officiating.
Born in Danville, Ill., Mrs. Powell came to Manatee County from Illinois 17 years ago. She was a home health care manager. She was Baptist. She was the former manager at Cortez Care.
Survivors include three daughters, Tina Miller of Parrish, Lisa Willfong of Bradenton, and Rosie Cates of Sarasota; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Willfong of Danville; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Stephen "Steve" M. Rickenbrode, 56, of Arcadia, and formerly of Bradenton, died Jan. 27, 2003.

Born in Clearfield, Pa., Mr. Rickenbrode was a former resident of Manatee County. He retired from the Arcadia Police Department in 2002 after 20 years of service. He was a sergeant on road patrol, trained new officers and served on the DeSoto County drug task force. He was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church, active with the Children's Church and the upcoming Ralph Bell Celebration. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Peace River Mason Lodge 66 of Free and Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice; two daughters, Stephanie L. Blazavich of Clearfield, and Jaclyn Anne, of Arcadia; two sons, Stephen M. II, of Camp Pendleton, Calif., and Thomas Alex, of Arcadia; his mother, Hazel M., of Arcadia; and a grandchild.

Born in Mingo County, W.Va., Mrs. Simpkins came to Manatee County from Elkhorn City, Ky., in 1966. She was a homemaker. She was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and a honorary member of the Third Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, Prestonburg, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Hogston of Columbus, Ohio, and Ida Sue Clark of Prestonburg; a son, Thomas A., of Bradenton; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Harold B. Fagan, 67, of Palmetto, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Fagan came to Manatee County from Naples in 2000. He retired as a retail manager. He was Jewish. He served in the U.S. Navy in Korea. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7721 and president of Kiwanis in Golden Gate, both in Naples.
Survivors include his wife, Reba; a son, Stephen, of Merkel, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Bobbie Sandra Franklin, 50, of Bradenton, died Jan. 29, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Kingsport, Tenn., Mrs. Franklin came to Manatee County from Knoxville, Tenn., in 1972. She was a barmaid.
Survivors include her husband, Tom, of Lecanto; a son, William T., of Jacksonville; a sister, Connie Cooper of Bradenton; and two grandchildren.

Born in Victory, N.Y., Miss McIntyre came to Manatee County from Rochester, N.Y., in 1992. She retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester. She was a member of the Christian Science Church.

Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., Mr. Smith came to Manatee County from Indiana in 1987. He was a truck driver. He was Lutheran. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Loyal Order of the Moose and Local 414 Teamsters.
Survivors include his companion, Millie Snyder; a daughter, Christy A. Weaver of Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Jamie L. Hein of Everette, Wash., and Sarah J. Miller of Fort Wayne; three sons, Phillip E. and Mark S., both of Fort Wayne, and Michael G., of Longmont, Colo.; two stepsons, Thomas R. Spencer of Fort Wayne, and Brian T. Johnson of Clairmont, Calif.; a brother, George, of Fort Wayne; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
