Don W. Starkey, 78, of Sarasota (Manatee County), died Jan. 29, 2003 in Blake Medical Center.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave. E. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Jon Nyberg officiating. Burial will be in Manasota Memorial Park. Born in Caro, Mich., Mr. Starkey came to Manatee County from Fairgrove, Mich., in 1970. He retired in 1985 as a millwright from Tropicana after 11 years. He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; two sons, Jae D., of Sarasota, and Van K., of North Branch, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Margaret E. Thompson, Bradenton
Margaret E. Thompson, 85, of Bradenton, died Jan. 27, 2003, in Hospice House.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Thompson came to Manatee County from there in 1991. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Holli Applegate of Long Beach, Calif., and Heather Colton of Kent, Wash.; and three great-grandsons, Michael, James and Mark.
Lynn T. Beisinger, Palmetto
Lynn T. Beisinger, 58, of Palmetto, died Jan. 27, 2003, in Blake Medical Center.
Service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, with the Rev. Kevin Higginbotham officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, Fla. 33742.
Born in Port Chester, N.Y., Mrs. Beisinger came to Manatee County from Sarasota a year ago. She was a registered nurse. She attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sarasota.
Survivors include her companion, William, of Sarasota; a daughter, Juliana M., of Bradenton; three sisters, Julianne Collins of Glasgow, Mont., Lorraine Kirchner of Apopka, and Loretta B. Swope of Sarasota; and a brother, Leonard C. Bradis Jr. of Venice.

Teri Ann Besemer, 44, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003.
Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Kicliter Funeral Home, 517 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Miss Besemer came to Manatee County from Sayville, Long Island, N.Y., in 1967. She was a cashier. She was Catholic.
Survivors include her father, Robert, of Smithtown, Long Island, N.Y.; her mother, Dorothy Holz of Bradenton; a sister, Tina Baker of Tallahassee; and two brothers, Neal "Skip" Schultz Jr. and Robert "Buddy," both of Bradenton.
Edward J. Butler Sr., Bradenton
Edward J. Butler Sr., 79, of Bradenton, died Jan. 27, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Westside Funeral Home, 704 11th St. W., Palmetto. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Mount Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church, 126 Ninth Ave. W., with Elder Carl Rhodes Jr. officiating. Graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Kirby Stewart of Bradenton at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Manasota Memorial Park.
Born in Bainbridge, Ga., Mr. Butler came to Manatee County from Hartford, Conn., in 1971. He retired as a cab driver. He was Baptist. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Jr., of Danville, Ill.; a sister, Alice Prevatt of Bradenton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Maynard E. Goldberg, 91, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, at home.
There will be a private family service with Rabbi Victor Mirelman officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Chicago. Piser Funeral Services, Chicago, are in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a Jewish charity of one's choice.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Goldberg came to Manatee County from there 20 years ago. He was the former owner of a tool and die company. He was Jewish.
Survivors include his wife, Fay; a daughter, Nancy Berke of Chicago; a son, Allan, of Chicago; a sister, June Zepell of Chicago; and four grandchildren.

Mary H. Long, 102, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Westminster Asbury Towers.
There will be no service. Griffith-Cline Funeral Homes, Manatee Avenue Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Yakima, Wash., at a later date.
Born in Stoneville, N.C., Mrs. Long came to Manatee County from Silver Springs, Md., in 1979. She retired as an administrative assistant for the Internal Revenue Service after 45 years. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a volunteer with the Southeastern Guide Dogs of Palmetto.
Survivors include three grandsons, Daniel Long of Portland, Ore., Kenneth Long of West Linn, Ore., and Michael Long of Chicago; and seven great-grandchildren.

Born in Covington, Va., Mrs. Whitesel came to Manatee County from Richmond in 1995. She retired from the Medical College of Virginia after 34 years. She was Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Betsy, of Tryon, N.C., and LaDonna Kessler of Bradenton; two sisters, Barbara Graham of Charlottesville, Va., and Betty Oliver of Ashland, Va.; and a brother, Bob Graham of Richmond.
James J. Botts, Bradenton
James J. Botts, 77, of Bradenton, died Jan. 28, 2003, in Integrated Health Services of Braden River.

Born in Providence, R.I., Mr. Botts came to Manatee County from Leominster, Mass., in 1980. He was the former owner of Getten's Electric Supply Co. in Fitchburg, Mass. He was a member of Our Lady Queen Martyrs Catholic Church in Bradenton and St. Leo's Catholic Church in Leominster. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Eagles and Elks.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; six daughters, Karen Maine of Rhode Island, Janice Chaisson of Clinton, Mass., Patricia Bishop of Maryland, Pamela Carey of Methuen, Mass., Caroline Maynard of Leominster, and Nancy Mello of Fitchburg; three sons, Thomas and James, both of Rhode Island, and Shawn Maynard of Leominster; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Charles "Woodchuck" Jerome Reisdorf, 47, of Bradenton, died Jan. 27, 2003, in Sarasota Health Care Center, Sarasota.
Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Jiggs Landing, 6106 Braden River Road, Bradenton. Ellenton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. Reisdorf came to Manatee County from there 25 years ago. He was a carpenter. He was Catholic. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Daniel J., of Bradenton; five sisters, Wendy Marx and Cindi Surace, both of Bradenton, Patti Swift of Texas, Jody Potts of North Carolina, and Dawn Neyens of Iowa; two brothers, Bob, of Bradenton, and Donn, of Tampa; and his father, Charles Ruh of Bradenton.
