Clifford B. Garland, 37, of Palmetto, died Jan. 1, 2003, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 U.S. Hwy. 19 N., Palmetto, with the Rev. William Hull officiating. Born in Bradenton, Mr. Garland lived in Manatee County for most of his life. He was a service sales associate for Grainger Industrial Supply Co. of Sarasota. He was Presbyterian. He served in the U.S. Navy as an EM1(N); he was a submariner during Desert Storm. He served on the USS Francis Scott Key and was an instructor on the USS Daniel Webster.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Sarah, of Palmetto; a sister, Leslie, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Peter, of Benson, N.C., and Thomas, of Orlando; his mother and stepfather, Mary Helen and Robert Purinton of Bronson; and his father and stepmother, William H., and Dorothy, of Palmetto.
Mary B. Stone, Bradenton
Mary B. Stone, 84, of Bradenton, died Dec. 31, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
There will be no services. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Born in Valhalla, N.Y., Mrs. Stone came to Manatee County from Albany, N.Y., in 1980. She retired as a secretary for the State of New York.
Survivors include her husband, Wheeler; and a sister, Anna M. Young of East Chatham, N.Y.

Dale E. Edge, 91, of Bradenton, died Dec. 31, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th St. W., Bradenton. Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Glen Gardner officiating. Born in Oklahoma City, Okla., Mr. Edge came to Manatee County from there in 1979. He retired as a lumber yard foreman. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; two daughters, Ellen M. Robertson of Bradenton and Donna Viser of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Dale Jr., of North Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Adele Moses of South Lima, N.Y.; two brothers, Warren Stowe of Amarillo, Texas, and Earnest Stowe of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Josephine S. "Jo" Johnson of Ellenton, died Dec. 31, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.

Born in Tower Hill, Ill., Mrs. Johnson came to Manatee County from Maryland in 1970. She retired as an administrative officer with the Department of the Navy. She attended Ellenton United Methodist Church. She was a member of Palmetto Garden Club, Ellenton Civic Association, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Joseph "Joe" Mc Laughlin, 88, of Bradenton, died Dec. 26, 2002, at home.
Memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post No. 24 in Bradenton. Toale Brothers South Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Boston, Mr. Mc Laughlin came to Manatee County from Naperville, Ill., in 1977. He retired after working as a salesman for Eastman Kodak for 20 years. He was Catholic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 24.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary; a daughter, Eileen Gatenby of Naperville; three sons, Joseph and Jerry, both of Syracuse, N.Y., and Robert, of Clinton, Mich.; a sister, Lillian Sigular of Syracuse; a brother, Thomas, of Syracuse; and several grand-, great-, and great-great-grandchildren.

Helen Albritton, 74, of Bradenton, died Dec. 28, 2002, in Integrated Health Services at Riverfront.

Born in Bradenton, Mrs. Albritton was a lifetime resident of Manatee County. She retired as a cook and had worked for Walgreens Department Store. She was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Lezoria Edwards, Rosetta Waiters and Sonja Hines, all of Bradenton, and Yvonne Stevenson of Melbourne; three sons, Oscar, Roosevelt and Stanley, all of Bradenton; a sister, Bernice Jones of Bradenton; a brother, Ferman Richards of Bradenton; 49 grandchildren; and 90 great-grandchildren.

Born in Troy, Mich., Mr. Cagle came to Manatee County from Dade City in 1989. He was an electrical engineer at Tropicana. He was Methodist. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Reva; a daughter, Jeanie Wolcott of Holland, Mich.; three sons, David and Bill, both of Bradenton, and Mike, of Fort Polk, La.; a brother, Wayne, of Holland, Mich.; three sisters, Joyce Egler of Loudon, Tenn., Sandy Miller of Clarkston, Mich., and Linda Egler of Holland, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Born in New York City, N.Y., Mrs. Blumenfeld came to Manatee County from there in 1977. She retired after working as executive secretary at American Optical Research for 20 years. She attended Saints Peter and Paul The Apostles Catholic Church in Bradenton. She was a Red Cross volunteer at Blake for more than 10 years.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Romeo of Northboro, Mass.; a niece, Carol L. Rydel of Bradenton; and three nephews, Frank Romeo, James Romeo and Edward Romeo.

Sarah Albritton, 77, of Bradenton, died Dec. 28, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Baker County, Mrs. Albritton came to Manatee County many years ago. She was a retired housekeeper. She was Methodist. She was a member of Lilly White.
Survivors include four daughters, Veronica Richard, Onetia Ramos and Della, all of Bradenton, and Tina Albritton-McGill of Atlanta; three sons, Herbert Brooks and John Ramos, both of Bradenton, and Derrick Albritton of College Park, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Born in Cranshaw, Ala., Mrs. Broughton came to Manatee County from Alabama in 1954. She was a homemaker. She was Baptist.
Survivors include six daughters, Jennifer Matthews, Linda Prince, Vickey, Patricia and Gwenette Matthews and Adrienne Mosley, all of Bradenton; six sons, James Matthews, Corbett Matthews, Clinton Matthews Jr., Earl Matthews, Alphonso Mosley and Lorenzo Mosley, all of Bradenton; 12 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Shamrock, Mr. Crawford came to Manatee County from the Everglades in 1953. He retired from the Sanitation Department of the City of Sarasota. He was a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Bernadette, of Palmetto; two sons, Dietrick, of Bradenton and Chris, of Palmetto; a sister, Dannie Richardson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Lewis and Johnny, both of Palmetto; and nine grandchildren.
