Minnie Spicer, 78, of Palmetto, died Dec. 29, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at St. Andrews African Methodist Church, 203 17th St. W., Palmetto. Service will be noon Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton. Westside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in St. Michaels, Md., Mrs. Spicer came to Manatee County from Salisbury, Md., in 1956. She retired as a custodian for the School Board of Manatee County. She was a member of St. Andrews A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include her husband, Major; a daughter, Carmellia Turner of Salisbury; a son, Jerome Moore of Capital Heights, Md.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dolores M. Ruddick, Bradenton
Dolores M. Ruddick, 73, of Bradenton, died Dec. 29, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, South Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Lansing, Ill., Mrs. Ruddick came to Manatee County from Columbus, Ohio, in 1986. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul The Apostles Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Catherine Breitfield of Dayton, Ohio, Rose Mellencamp and Ethel Smallwood, both of Seymour, Ind.; and two brothers, Eben Fisher Jr. of LaPorte, Ind., and Donald Fisher of Marietta, Ga.
Eugene Malcomb Davis, Bradenton
Eugene Malcomb Davis, 78, of Bradenton, died Dec. 23, 2002, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Davis came to Manatee County from Sarasota in 2000. He retired as a cabinet maker for the Sarasota County School Board. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Philippines Campaign and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Taylor of Bradenton; a son, Dave, of Bradenton; a brother, Walter Earl, of Deltona; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jimmie Wellington Duke, Scaly Mountain, N.C.
Jimmie Wellington Duke, 80, of Scaly Mountain, N.C., and formerly of Bradenton, died Dec. 24, 2002, at Highlands Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, N.C.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Highlands, with Dr. Dan Robinson and assistant Pastor Ted Edwards officiating. Rabun Memorial Funeral Home of Clayton, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Duke retired as a mail clerk with the Bradenton Post Office. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Highlands.
Survivors include his wife, June Overstreet; two daughters, Darlene Lakey of St. Petersburg and Sherry Hood of Tampa; a son, Robert C. Darfus; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Oscar Fienberg, Sun City
Oscar Fienberg, 85, of Sun City, and formerly of Bradenton, died Dec. 24, 2002.
Service will be be noon today at Lewar's Funeral Home in Ruskin. Burial will follow the service at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery in Sarasota.
Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., Mr. Fienberg came to Manatee County from Bennington, Vt., in 1984. He managed, became partner, and then owner in the family furniture business, Home Furniture of Bennington, Vt. He was a Bennington Club member and served on the Bennington Zoning Board for many years. He was a member of Temple Beth El in Bennington, the Hebrew Congregation of Sun City Center, and the United Jewish Appeal.
Survivors include his wife, Enid.
Robert Hendriex Sr., Rubonia
Robert Hendriex Sr., 101, of Rubonia, died Dec. 21, 2002, in Mariner Health of Palmetto.
Visitation will be 5 p.m.-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1124 72nd St. Ct. E., Rubonia. Service will be 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Born in Gainesville, Mr. Hendriex came to Manatee County many years ago. He retired as a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Gladys Johnson and Bessie, both of Rubonia, Mary Shaw of Rochester, N.Y., and Barbara Washington of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Robert Jr., of Florence, S.C., and Carl, of Killean, Texas; a sister, Katie Welch of Gainesville; 32 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great grandchildren; and a great-great-great grandchild.

Mae Jaques, 95, of Bradenton, died Dec. 22, 2002, in Palmetto Guest Home.

Born in Ransom, Ky., Mrs. Jaques came to Manatee County from Owensville, Ohio, in 1999. She was a former secretary for Irving Trust Company in New York. She attended First United Methodist Church of Marathon, Ohio. She was a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Survivors include a son, John G., of Bradenton; a sister, Myrtle Buhler of Owensville; four brothers, Eli Kimmerly of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Jack Kimmerly and Russell Kimmerly, both of Owensville, and Roger Kimmerly of Batavia, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born in New Albany, Ind., Mr. O'Bannon came to Manatee County from Carmel, Ind., in 1999. He was a winter resident of Manatee County since 1993. He was president of Indiana Telephone Association. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany during the Korean War. He served on the Rochester, Ind., Telephone Company board of directors, and was the co-owner of the Corydon Democrat Newspaper in Corydon, Ind.
Survivors include his wife, Sara; two daughters, Christine McKeon of Carmel, and Rosemary Robertson of Lafayette, Ind.; a son, Robert Paul, of St. Louis; three sisters, Jane Parker of Plainfield, Ind., Rosamond Sample of Corydon, and Margaret Fawver of Orange, Calif.; and a brother, Frank, of Indianapolis.
William E. Ormond, Palmetto
William E. Ormond, 82, of Palmetto, died Dec. 23, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Palmetto, 330 11th Ave. W., Palmetto. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Rafe Vigil officiating. Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., Mr. Ormond came to Manatee County from Quincy in 1959. He was the owner of Ormond Drapery, Palmetto. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Palmetto. He served on the City Council of Palmetto for 12 years and was a two-term vice mayor. He had 32 years of perfect attendance in the Rotary Club, where he was a past president and recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He was a life member of the Manatee County Fair Board, a Girls Club board member for two years, co-founded the Decorating Consultants for the Western Area, was made an honorary Girl Scout, was a Mason, charter member of Pride, Palmetto Historical Society, Palmetto Good Ole Boys, and the Library Board. He was a co-founder and board member of Palmetto's July Fourth Celebration. He was a two time co-recipient, with his wife, Ada, of Palmetto's Distinguished Citizen Award.
Survivors include two daughters, Hazel O. Ford and Kay P. Guthrie, both of Palmetto; a brother, Frank, of Reidsville, N.C.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Theloush Peelar, 80, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Bradenton, died Dec. 23, 2002, in Bay Pointe Nursing Home, St. Petersburg.

Olive Primitive Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, with the Elder Anderson Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Royal Palm South Cemetery, St. Petersburg. Born in Sunflower, Miss., Mr. Peelar came to Manatee County from there many years ago. He was a construction worker. He was Baptist. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Rhodes and Lisa Maultsby, both of St. Petersburg, Joann Williams of Ellenton, and Dorothy Jefferson of Bradenton; two sons, Ron Lane and Aaron, both of St. Petersburg; a sister, Rosie Brown of Las Vegas; a brother, Nathaniel, of Boulder, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
