Gina Brantley, 37, of Palmetto, died Dec. 14, 2002, at home.
Service will be 11 a.m. today at Sims Funeral Home, 201 N. Peterson Ave., Douglas, Ga. Burial will be in Douglas City Cemetery. Kicliter Funeral Home in Palmetto is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Douglas, Miss Brantley came to Manatee County from Fitzgerald, Ga., in 1994. She was Baptist.
Survivors include a brother, Kevin, of Valdosta, Ga.; her father, Julian, of Douglas; and her mother, Joyce C., of Palmetto.
Mike Fitzko Jr., Bradenton
Mike Fitzko Jr., 57, of Bradenton, died Dec. 12, 2002, in Bradenton.
Service will be 1 p.m. today at Cravens Shires Funeral Home, Route 3 Box 20, Bluefield, W.Va., with the Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell.
Born in Freeman, W.Va., Mr. Fitzko came to Manatee County from Montcalm, W.Va., in 1994. He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy, of Bluewell, W.Va.; a son, Michael Shane, of Bluewell; three sisters, Judy Thompson of Montcalm, Lorrine Szala of Alexandria, Va., and Pauline Taylor of Greenville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jackie, of Montcalm, and Jimmy, of Bluefield.
Shirley J. Hensley, Wesley Chapel
Shirley J. Hensley, 67, of Wesley Chapel, formerly from Bradenton, died Dec. 5, 2002, at home.
There will be no service. Oakley Funeral Home in Zephyrhills is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hensley was born in Bradenton. She was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Don; two sons, Michael, of Boynton Beach, and Don Jr., of Waynesboro, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Dale Russell Hutson, 55, of Palmetto, died Dec. 15, 2002.

Born in Folsom, W.Va., Mr. Hutson came to Manatee County from Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1982. He was a manager of a service station. He was Baptist. He was a member of the American Legion North Manatee Post No. 309, Elks Lodge, No. 2449 and the Loyal Order of Moose, No. 2117, all of Palmetto.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Johnson of Palmetto; a son, Russell, of Palmetto; a sister, Dot Bissett of Clarksburg; a brother, Raymond D., of Wallace, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.
Harold Albert Martin, Ellenton
Harold Albert Martin, 99, of Ellenton, died Dec. 14, 2002, at home.

Born in Fremont, Neb., Mr. Martin came to Manatee Country from Muskegon, Mich., in 1971. He retired as a pipefitter in 1965. He was past president of Building Committee Oil Workers Union No. 390 in Muskegon. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1223 of Bradenton. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Ellenton.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Eenigenburg of Ellenton; two sisters, Barbara Coffing of Largo, and Martha Bunger of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
John F. McCormack, Bradenton
John F. McCormack, 75, died Dec. 15, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
Visitation is private. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 3904 Cortez Road W. Inurnment will take place this spring in Massachusetts. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
Born in Wakefield, Mass., Mr. McCormack came to Manatee County from Pittsfield, Mass., in 1980. He worked as a chef with Eastover Resort in Lenox, Mass.; and he worked with the Pittsfield public school system. He was Catholic. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Westside Social Club in Wakefield.
Survivors include six daughters, Patricia Hubbard of Bradenton, Roseanne Laurin and Teresa May, both of Pittsfield, Jacqueline Basinait and Michelle Speidel, both of Bradenton Beach, and Mary Bowles of Concord, N.C.; a son, Lawrence, of Pittsfield; a sister, Joan Maher of Melrose, Mass.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Viola Platt, 89, of Bradenton, died Dec. 16, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
Service and entombment will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Skyway Memorial Gardens Chapel, 5200 U.S. Highway 19 N., Palmetto. Bradenton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Born in Scranton, N.D., Mrs. Platt came to Manatee County from North Bend, Wash., in 1946. She was a retired librarian, having worked in Manatee County public libraries for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Dozier of Tallahassee; three sons, Ralph, of Bradenton, Lewis, of Thomasville, Ga., and Henry, of Chanute, Kan.; a sister, Romaine Swensen of Lynwood, Wa.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
John G. Shaver, Bradenton
John G. Shaver, 93, of Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2002, in Freedom Village Nursing Center.

Born in Rockingham City, Va., Mr. Shaver came to Manatee County from Sun City Center in 1984. He was a retired certified public accountant. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He attended 1st Presbyterian Church in Muncie, Ind.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Yoder of Chantilly, Va.; a son, George, of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Woodrow Swain

Woodrow "Woody" Swain, 84, of Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2002, in Hospice House of Bradenton.
There will be no service. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Mr. Swain was a lifelong resident of Bradenton. He retired from GTE Phone Co. He served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include longtime companion Betty Norris; a son, Thomas, of Atlanta; two sisters, Roberta Rittenhouse of Hilliard, and Dorothea Bruno of Bradenton; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Betty Thompson, Bradenton
Betty Thompson, 65, of Bradenton, died Dec. 12, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Memorial service is private. Inurnment will be in Florida National Cemetery. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Born in Plant City, Mrs. Thompson came to Manatee County from there in 1960. She was a secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation. She was a professional musician in local clubs and gave piano and organ lessons. She was a member of the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kahle A. Jr.; and a daughter, Dawn Lee, of Bradenton.
