Robert E. Goodwin, 76, of Palmetto, died Dec. 12, 2002, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Rochester, N.Y., Mr. Goodwin came to Manatee County from there in 1990. He retired after 43 years as an employee of Eastman Kodak Co., in Rochester. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; three sons, Paul, of New Jersey, Robert, of Brookport, N.Y., and David, of Rochester; and eight grandchildren.
William W. Clark, Sarasota (Manatee County)
William W. Clark, 66, of Sarasota (Manatee County), died Dec. 13, 2002, at home.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Anderson-McQueen Funeral home, Bobbitt Chapel, 7820 38th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. A memorial service will immediately follow with the Rev. Robert E. Born in St. Petersburg, Mr. Clark came to Manatee County in 1989. He was a printing supervisor at Modern Graphic Art in St. Petersburg. He was a Protestant. He served in the U.S. Navy in Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L.; his mother, Agnes M., of St. Petersburg; a daughter, Cynthia D., of Indianapolis; three sons, Mark W., of Jacksonville, and Michael D., and Jason R., both of Sarasota; a brother, Robert E., of Summerville, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
Byron E. Watkins, Palmetto and, Pandora, Ohio
Byron E. Watkins, 84, of Palmetto and Pandora, Ohio, died Dec. 14, 2002, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation and funeral services will be in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Burial will be at Truro Cemetery in Columbus Grove. Born in Sugar Creek Township, Ohio, Mr. Watkins became a winter resident of Manatee County in 1982. He retired as a diesel mechanic with Duff Truck Lines in Lima, Ohio, after 10 years and was a diesel instructor at Camp Gordon Johnston in the Appalachicola area during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pandora and attended First United Methodist Church in Palmetto. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of American Legion Post 0616 in Pandora. He was a member of the Senior Citizen Bowling League at the AMF Bowling lane in Bradenton, the Professional Bowlers Association and the Camp Gordon Johnston Association in Carabelle.
Survivors include his wife, Helen M., two daughters, Wynona M. Wilhelm of Findlay, Ohio, and Nita S. Hashbarger of Pandora; two sons, Jerry B., of Naples, and William D., of Bluffton, Ohio; a brother, Edwin E., of Lima, and New Port Richey; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Orville Clyde Dotson, Myakka City
Orville Clyde Dotson, 91, of Myakka City, died Dec. 11, 2002, in Greenbriar Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at Bethany Baptist Church, 26604 SR 64 E., Myakka City. Service will follow immediately after at the church, with the Rev. A. O. Hendry officiating. Born in Wirt County, W.Va., Mr. Dotson came to Manatee County from St. Petersburg in 1978. He retired as a teacher. He attended Bethany Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideons International.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pauline; two daughters, Betty Dotson Renick of Myakka City, and Patricia Dotson Christenson of Patzcuaro, Mexico; a son, Erroll Walker, of Wickenburg, Ariz.; a brother, Charles H., of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Born in Urbana, Ill., Mrs. Hall came to Manatee County from Acworth, Ga., in 1991. She was a homemaker. She was Christian. She was a member of the Historical Society.

Marjorie J. Lovett, 83, of Bradenton, died Dec. 12, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church, 1006 1st Ave. W. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. Dr. William Armstead officiating. Burial will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto. Westside Funeral Home of Palmetto, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lovett was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. She retired as a social worker for the state of Florida and an attendant for 30 years at Westside Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church and was their church clerk for 30 years. She was vice president of Home Mission Society, and Present Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 18. She organized her local neighborhood watch and served on the board of directors and on the boards of Manatee East Bradenton Girl's Club, Manatee Opportunity Council, and 13th Avenue Community Center.
Survivors include six daughters, Cassandra Patterson of Orlando, Gwendolyn Mitchell of Palmetto, Katie Lancaster of St. Petersburg, Laura Henry of Washington, D.C., Louise White of St. Petersburg, Chrystal Griffin of Bradenton; two sons, Arthur McKinney Jr. of Titusville, and Jimmie Saffo of Bradenton; three sisters, Juanita Williams of Williston, Alice Jones of Lake City, and Henrietta Yancy of Detroit; three brothers, Raleigh Wallace Jr. of Williston, Elihu Wallace of Palmetto and Henry Robinson Jr. of Bradenton; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Born in Farmville, Va., Mr. Plagge came to Manatee County from there as a toddler in 1913, growing up in Parrish. He was a machinist with Deane's Machine and Supply of Bradenton and retired after 55 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Wilhelmina Foxworthy of Bradenton; a brother, Earnest, of Deland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Marie E. Powers, 88, of Bokeelia, formerly of Bradenton, died Dec. 11, 2002, in Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers.

Born in Canada, Mrs. Powers came to Manatee County from Detroit in 1957. She was a retired business woman and homemaker. She was a member of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Bokeelia and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 45 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Ora O'Toole of Tucson, Ariz., Marie Snow of Bokeelia, and Catherine Watts of Social Circle, Ga.; a son, Charles L., of Sarasota; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Born in Chicago, Mrs. Bentley came to Manatee County from Sarasota in 1985. She was a retired school nurse. She served in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps as a nurse anesthetist during World War II. She received a Bronze Star. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star; and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in LaGrange, Ill. She was Protestant. She was a member of the Swedish Covenant Church in Sarasota.
Survivors include a daughter, Trudy Rech of Naples.

Born in Union City, N.J., Mr. Bergeron came to Manatee County from Madison, Ind., in 1978. He retired as a supervisor of engineering with American Can Co. of Hillside, N.J. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He volunteered at Blake Medical Center's Emergency Room.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine, three daughters, Margaret Martin of Hudson, Jo Young of Bradenton, and Barb Maddy of Bradenton; two sons, Thomas, of Bridgefield, Conn., and Michael, of Redwood City, Calif; and 11 grandchildren.
