The service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Toale Brothers Bradenton Chapel, 912 53rd Ave. West.

Emmett E. Butler, Bradenton
Emmett E. Butler, 72, of Bradenton, died May 28, 2004 in Bradenton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2-4 p.m., at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Ave. Chapel, 720 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton. Service will be held on Monday, May 31, 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
Born in Milford, Mich., December 28, 1931, he came to Manatee County from Tallahassee, Fla., three months ago. He was a truck driver. He was of Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include daughters Christenea S. Knapp of Sturgis, Mich.; Star A. Runner of Raleigh, N.C.; sons Emmett F. Butler of Bradenton; Raymond A. Butler of Bradenton; sisters Peggy Koch of Ocala, Fla.; Judith Smith of Coldwater, Mich.; Eleanor Urenn of Englewood, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Henry F., "Hole-in-one Hank" Cummins, Bradenton
Henry F. "Hole-in-one Hank" Cummins joined his beloved wife of 55 years, Edith Barger Cummins, in the Lord's Kingdom on May 26, 2004.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel from 6-8 p.m. There will be a memorial Mass at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Parrish on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.
Born October 15, 1926, in Dover, Delaware, Henry moved to Upper Marlboro, Maryland, in 1940, where he farmed and owned a general store. In 1959 he moved his family to Bradenton, Florida, where he learned to love fishing and the game of golf. He worked as a greenskeeper at Palma Sola Golf Course. In his later years, he returned to farming, raising cattle and hay.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Parrish but frequently attended First Baptist Church of Palmetto for Wednesday night supper.
Survivors include daughters Cece Keller, Charlotte Nielsen, Lois Hopewell and honorary daughter Debbie King, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to Care Net Manasota, 5111 26th St. W. Bradenton, Fla. 34207 and Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.

Mary E. Deck
Holmes Beach
Mary E. Deck, 90, of Holmes Beach, Fla., died May 28, 2004 in Bradenton.
Survivors include daughters Lois Mills of Holmes Beach and Doris Yeakle of Hamilton, Ohio, son James Deck of Hamilton, Ohio, twin sister Marie Blaechle of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Albert Grafton
Bradenton
Albert Grafton, 89, of Bradenton, died May 24, 2004.
Mr. Grafton came to Florida from Wisconsin in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Violet; two sons, Robert of Las Vegas, and Donald of Sheboygan, Wis.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Grafton was a veteran of World War II, a member of Palma Sola Presbyterian Church and had been a volunteer at Blake Medical Center for over 20 years.
There will be no local services. Burial will be in Wisconsin, in July. We ask that memorial gifts be made to the charity of your choice.

Verna Landon, Bradenton
Verna Landon, 94, of Bradenton died May 13, 2004.
Born on May 22, 1909, Mrs. Landon moved here from Arlington, Va. in 1963. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church, Sarasota Opera Association, Sarasota Opera Guild and Bradenton Opera Guild. Mrs. Landon was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, and stepson Herman.
Survivors include her sister, Laura Brightwell of Fort Lauderdale; stepson Robert Landon of Osprey; stepdaughter Barbara Stanley of Evanston, Ill.; niece Jean Struve of Paullina, Iowa; nephews David Hunt of New Canaan, Conn., Leon Hunt of Primghar, Iowa, and Robert Smith of Davenport, Iowa; 10 grandnieces and grandnephews; 10 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Arrangements entrusted to Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel.

John Edward Michaels Jr.
Bradenton - John Edward Michaels Jr. of Bradenton died May 28, 2004, at home.
Visitation is Sunday and Monday, from 2-8 p.m., at Toale Brothers Bradenton Chapel, 912 53rd Avenue West, with a rosary Monday at 7 p.m. A funeral liturgy is Tuesday at 10 a.m., at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, with Father Edward D. Moretti, V.G. officiating. Entombment will follow in Mansion Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic church, 2850 75th Street West, Bradenton, Fla. 34209 or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, Fla. 33742.
Mr. Michaels was born in Baltimore, Md., and moved to Manatee County from Redford Township, Mich., 24 years ago. He worked as a processing engineer for the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1979 and was a member of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Violet; daughters Laurie Ann Syme of Warren, Mich., and Karen Marie (George) Stolt of Myakka City, Fla.; sister Dolores L. Long of South Lyon, Mich.; brothers Leonard F. (Mary Lou) Michaels of Leroy, Mich., and Clermont, Fla., and Charles (Linda) Michaels of Leesburg, Fla.; grandchildren Shawny Marie Syme, John Stephen Shanks and Lisa Marie Shanks; sister-in-law Susan Marie DaRoma of Detroit, Mich. Arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel.

Marco Rosario, 3, of Bradenton, died May 27, 2004 in Bradenton.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 1, 1:30-2:30 p.m. with a service at 2:30 p.m., both at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home Manasota Chapel, 1221 53rd Ave. East, Bradenton.
Survivors include his parents, Ricardo and Flor, two brothers and several other relatives.

Thomas Howard Stamper Sr.
Sarasota - Thomas Howard Stamper Sr., 88, of Sarasota, died May 28, 2004 in Sarasota.
He moved to Bradenton in 1958 from Seneca Falls, N.Y., and lived here until 1964, when he moved to Sarasota. Born July 2, 1915 in Denton, Ky. He traveled with his family as a Catastrophe Insurance Adjustor and retired as a drywall contractor in Sarasota.
Survived by his wife, Billie L. (nee Blizzard); daughter Kay Strickland of Myakka City, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law Thomas H. and Mandi Stamper Jr. of Sarasota; sisters Margaret Walker of Sylvester, W.Va., and Madalene Hale of Huntsville, Ala.; brother Delbert Harry Stamper of Harrison, Ark.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 26th Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Vance B. Stanley, 81, died May 28, 2004.
Visitation will be Monday 1-2 p.m. at Sun City Christian Center and Funeral Services at 2 p.m. following the visitation. Burial will be Tuesday at Dade Memorial Park in Miami, Fla.
Survivors: wife Minnie E. Stanley of Parrish; daughters Marlene Toepel of Miramar, Fla., Patricia Ogle of Bradenton, Alicia Pierson of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother Donovan Stanley of Tallahassee, Fla.; sister Olive Wareing of Bradenton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Vance B. Stanley Jr. He was a native Floridian born in Miami, Fla., and served in the U.S. Navy, World War II. He is retired after 38 years of service from National/Pan Am airlines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5922 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
