Harry Lasane Harper Sr., 83, of Palmetto, died Dec. 1, 2002, in Freedom Village Nursing Center.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Westside Funeral Home, 704 11th St. W., Palmetto. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2410 4th Ave. E., Palmetto, with the Rev. Samuel D. Pollard officiating. Burial will be in Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton. Westside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Youngstown, Mr. Harper came to Manatee County from there many years ago. He was retired from Manatee County Transportation Department. He was a member of Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; three daughters, Eloise Thomas of Plant City, Cynthia, of Raleigh, N.C., and Phyllis, of Palmetto; three sons, Harry Jr. and Henry Lee, both of Rubonia, and Bobbie Williams of Miami; a brother, John, of Palmetto; and 10 grandchildren.
James William Kelly, West Linn, Ore.
James William Kelly, 84, of West Linn, Ore., and formerly of Bradenton, died Nov. 25, 2002, in Portland, Ore.
Memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at St. Roses Catholic Church, 602 S. Kankakee St., Wilmington, Ill., with Father Frank officiating. Committal will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill. Heritage Memorial, Portland, Ore., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Wilmington, Ill. Mr. Kelly lived in Manatee County 26 years, from 1972 to 1998. He was a real estate broker. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Kelly; two sons, Jim and Bob; and a grandchild.
Edward G. Murphy, Bradenton
Edward G. "Ed" Murphy, 59, of Bradenton, died Dec. 3, 2002, at home.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 3904 Cortez Rd. W., with a wake service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St. W., with the Rev. Gerard Critch officiating. Born in White Plains, N.Y., Mr. Murphy came to Manatee County from Monroe, N.Y., in 1977. He was the owner of Ed Murphy Landscaping. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24 of Bradenton, and commissioner of Post 24's baseball league for 12 years. He was also a Manatee County Little League coach for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; a daughter, Patty Rice of Bradenton; four sons, Edward M., Kevin J., Michael T. and Danny A., all of Bradenton; two sisters, Sister Mary Ruth of Yonkers, N.Y., and Theresa Casterella-Fyfe of White Plains; and two grandchildren.
Beatriz Orozco, Bradenton
Beatriz Orozco, 100, of Bradenton, died Nov. 30, 2002, at home.

Born in Sonson, Antioquia, Colombia, Mrs. Orozco came to Manatee County from there in 1995. She was a homemaker. She was Catholic.
Survivors include four daughters, Cecila Idarraga, and Mary Kendall, both of Bradenton, Lia de Orozco of Bogota, Colombia, and Olympia de Cardona of Medellin, Colombia; three sons, Jeronimo Idarraga of Bogota, Colombia, Hernan Idarraga of Medellin, Colombia, Alonso Idarraga of Cali, Colombia; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Kirby Cedolfus Sancho, 48, of Bradenton, died Nov. 27, 2002, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Riggins and Daughter Funeral Home, 916 13th St. W. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westcoast Center for Human Development, 403 N. Washington Blvd., Sarasota, with the Bishop Henry Porter officiating. Burial will be in Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton.
Mr. Sancho was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. He was a LPN for Manatee County Rural Health Services.
Survivors include his wife, Gretta, of Palmetto, a daughter, Alexandria M., of Palmetto; a son, Terrance Riley of Bradenton; seven sisters, Joann Workman, Tilda Hines, Geraldine Anderson and Ruby Harris, all of Stamford, Conn., Maxine Hornes and Carrie Lou Gilyard, both of Bradenton, and Florence L. Simon of Palmetto, two brothers, Lathell, of Zurich, Switzerland, and Joseph, of Stamford.

Leola Waiters Stewart, 102, of Palmetto, died Dec. 4, 2002, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gainesville, Mrs. Stewart came to Manatee County from there in 1905. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of the choir.
Survivors include a sister, Inella Gibbs of Fort Meade; and a brother, Peter Waiters of Palmetto; and three grandchildren.

Glen E. Fenimore, 86, of Bradenton, died Dec. 2, 2002, in the Integrated Health Services of Bradenton.

Born in Peru, Ind., Mr. Fenimore came to Manatee County from Daytona Beach in 1999. He was a national sales manager for Club Aluminum Products in Cleveland. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Elks.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; a son, John D., of Parrish; a brother, Rex, of Anderson, Ind.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Charlevoix, Mich., Mrs. Moreau came to Manatee County from Pontiac, Mich., in 1930. She was a former office manager for Manatee County Blood Bank. She was Methodist.
Survivors include a husband, Thomas C.; a daughter, Pamela, of Longboat Key; two sons, Michael, of Sarasota, and David, of Tampa; and five grandchildren.

George G. Norwood, 80, of Anna Maria, died Nov. 30, 2002, at home.

Born in Baltimore, Mr. Norwood came to Manatee County in 1957. He was manager of the Island Water Co. and after it was purchased by the county, worked for Manatee County Utilities till his retirement in 1984. He was in the Anna Maria Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He was co-founder of the Anna Maria Island Historical Society and served as past treasurer. He was voted Citizen of the Year 2002 for Anna Maria City. He was a member of Roser Church for more than 40 years. He served as a Sunday School teacher, head usher, van driver and Head of Transportation. He served in the U.S. Army overseas during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyne; a daughter, Linda Kinnan of Bradenton, three sons, Nick, of Coconut Grove, and Bill and John, both of Bradenton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Oliver W. Schuetz, St. Petersburg
Oliver W. Schuetz, 85, of St. Petersburg and formerly of Bradenton, died Nov. 20, 2002, at Alpine Health and Rehab.
Service was held at a previous date. Abbey Affordable Cremation and Funeral Service of Largo was in charge of arrangements.
Born in Milwaukee, Mr. Schuetz was a Manatee County resident for 11 years. He retired as president of Pioneer Terminal Warehouse of Milwaukee. He was a former member of Fox Point Church. He served three years in the U.S. Army, Special Services Division, attached to 113th Calvary at Fort Hood, Texas. He was a member of Waukesha Musicians Association No.193, the Cudworth American Legion Post and Mason and Shriner of Tripoli Temple.
Survivors include his wife, June F.; a daughter, June Douglas of Palmetto; and five grandchildren.

Dorothy M. Biedinger, 88, of Franklin, N.C., and formerly of Manatee County, died Nov. 27, 2002, in Harris Regional Hospital, in Sylva, N.C.
