Born in Jamestown, N.Y., Mr. Johnson came to Manatee County from Warren. He retired in 1992 as a service manager for Midtown Motors in Warren. He was Lutheran. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of American Legion Post 135, Moose Lodge 109 and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; three daughters, Jeanne Steele and Nancy, both of Warren, and Donna M. Scioscia of Oak Ridge, N.J.; two sons, Scott, of Russell, Pa., and Craig, of Warren; a brother, Warren, of Warren; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Gordon P. Leavenworth, Bradenton
Gordon P. Leavenworth, 84, of Bradenton, died Sept. 24, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Waterbury, Conn., Mr. Leavenworth came to Manatee County from Bourne, Mass., in 1990. He was the owner and operator of a dairy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24, Manasota Elks Lodge 2734, Charles W. Moore Masonic Lodge of Fitchburg, Mass., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include two sons, Tank, of Bradenton, and Robert, of Bourne; a sister, Esther Ringquist of Bourne; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

John G. Manning, 90, of Bradenton, died Sept. 29, 2002, at home.

Born in North Street, Mich., Mr. Manning came to Manatee County from Port Huron, Mich., in 1976. He worked for Chrysler Corp. for 35 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 374 in Fort Gratiot, Mich., Scottish Rite of Tampa and was a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice K.; a daughter, Clara Grace Pulford of Bradenton; and two grandchildren.

Frank Slomba, 82, of Holmes Beach, died Sept. 26, 2002, in Bradenton.

He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24 and the Holy Name Society at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rose M.; two daughters, Judith Klepperich of Mendota Heights, Minn., and Rosemarie Knick of Pompton Plains, N.J.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sisters, Martha Harroun of Michigan, and Evelyn Ramer of Minnesota; several stepchildren; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Palmetto Elks Lodge 2449, American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24, Moose Lodge 8 in Bradenton, Sahib Shrine in Sarasota and Manatee Masonic Lodge 31. He was past commander of Eastside Post in St. Paul.
Survivors include his wife, Marion E.; two daughters, Susan, of Beaverton, Ore., and Sally, of Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands; a sister, Mildred Gund of North St. Paul, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

Born in Cincinnati, Mrs. Martin came to Manatee County from West Chester, Ohio, in 1982. She was a school teacher. She attended St. Bernard Catholic Church in Holmes Beach. She was a member of the Garden Club in Cincinnati.
