Nelson M. Stickler, 77, of Bradenton, died May 10, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Celia; three daughters, Sandy Brown of Sarasota, Diane Kirk of Delaware and Wendy Wallace, of Virginia; one son, Kevin, of Bradenton; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Paul Jackson, Bradenton
Paul Jackson, 72, of Bradenton, died May 6, at I.H.S. Riverfront Nursing Home.
Visitation is today at Riggins & Daughter Funeral Home, 916 13th Street West, Bradenton, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be Saturday, May 15, at Mount Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church, 129 Ninth Avenue West, Bradenton, at 1 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Betty Graham Jackson, of Bradenton; one son, Fredrick Graham; daughters, Selena Thomas, of St. Petersburg and Yvette Jackson; and six grandchildren.

Alma L. Byron, 80, Bradenton died May 11, 2004.
Survivors include four sons; one sister; one brother; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, noon-1:30 p.m. at Bradenton Funeral Home Chapel, 5827 14th Street West, Bradenton, with service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
Arthur Bryant Sr., Tallevast
Arthur Bryant Sr., 82, Tallevast, passed away May 6, 2004. Mr. Bryant and his wife were owners of Bryant's Grocery Store.
Visitation is Friday, May 14, 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Bryant's Chapel C.M.E. Church, 1807 Tallevast Road, Tallevast, Fla. Services are scheduled for May 15, 11 a.m., at the church.
Mr. Bryant was a veteran of the Army. He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Mary Montgomery; three sons, Arthur Bryant Jr., James Bryant and Gerald Bryant; three brothers, Fred Bryant, Carver Bryant and Howard Bryant; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary A. Colonneso, 65, of Bradenton passed away May 11, 2004, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. She worked as a Florida designer for her brother, Don Colonneso, later owning and operating Mildred Diamond Florist, for a number of years. In recent years she was employed by Wal-Mart as a sales associate. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank P. Colonneso Sr. and Angelina Colonneso, and her brothers, Don Colonneso and Albert Michael Colonneso.
Survivors include her sisters, Catherine Fridy of Clearwater, Rose Smith of Bradenton; brothers Vincent A. "Jim" Colonneso Sr. and Frank P. Colonneso Jr., both of Bradenton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who she loved as her own, Vincent A. Colonneso Jr., Angelina Colonneso, Dwight Smith of Bradenton, Kay Broadway of West Palm Beach, Eva M. Ackley and Richard S. Fridy Jr. of New Port Richey, Leon Smith of Tampa. Other survivors include her aunts and uncles and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Griffith Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Avenue Chapel, 720 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Friday, May 14, 6-8 p.m., with a service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th Street West, Bradenton, on Saturday, May 15, 10 a.m.
Jeannette, Moreland-Conwell, Bradenton
Jeannette Moreland-Conwell, 45, 1243 31st Avenue East, Bradenton, died May 9, 2004.
She was born June 10, 1958, in Riverside, California, to the parents of the late James Moreland, Jr. and Ruby Moreland. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She moved from Sarasota to Bradenton many years ago. She was employed at I.H.S. Riverfront Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She is survived by her husband, Tim Conwell Sr. of Sarasota; two daughters, Katrina Smith and Teneal Manning, both of Bradenton; three sons, Kevin Sloan, Charles Manning, Jr., and Timothy Conwell Jr., all of Bradenton; her mother, Ruby Moreland of Sarasota; two sisters, Sandra Ann Moreland of Bradenton and Candace Moreland of Sarasota; four brothers, James E. Moreland III, Larry Moreland, Milton Moreland, all of Sarasota, and Ted Moreland, of St. Louis, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-10 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, 4005 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Greater Hurst Chapel, A.M.E. Church, 2745 North Links Ave., Sarasota. Burial will be in Galilee Cemetery.
John J. Dunn

John J. Dunn, 82, former member of the Boston Police, retired Lt. Detective Massachusetts State Police, died May 9, 2004. Mr. Dunn resided in Sarasota but was a former resident of Holmes Beach and Bradenton, Boston and Falmouth, Mass. Mr. Dunn's death was quite sudden. While exercising at the Sarasota Y.M.C.A., he went into cardiac arrest, expiring at 3:30 p.m. at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dunn was a World War II disabled veteran of the U.S.A.F in the South Pacific campaign.
He leaves three children in Massachusetts, sons John and Mark and a daughter, Mary. He also leaves brothers, James of Boston, William of Bradenton, Sister Margaret Dunn C.S.J. of Framingham, Catherine Crowley of Yarmouthport, Anne Caruso of Brewster, Irene Kilroy of Boston, and also good friends Doreen and Judge Pastor of Holmes Beach. In addition, Mr. Dunn leaves an extended family of nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Texas, Pennsylvania and the greater Seattle area.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Massachusetts. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd St. W. Bradenton, Fla. 34209 is in charge of arrangements.

Julia A. Hartz of Bradenton, Florida, died May 7, 2004.
She was born June 4, 1920 in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, and came to the Bradenton area in 1973 from Arlington, Virginia. She worked in the Pentagon for 22 years, first with the Department of Defense Munitions Board, then the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. She was widowed twice. She was a member of the Bradenton Country Club. Her hobbies were golf, cooking, painting and bridge.
Survivors include a step-niece in Pennsylvania, Janet Elias, husband James, and their four married children: David and Cathy Firek, Alex and Barbara LePore, James and Georgine Elias and Jimmy and Paula Deluca, and Janet's eight grandchildren: Jordan, Slone, Alexander, Gabriella, Nicoletta, Jenna, Jacob and Julianna; step-sister-in-law, Betty Salmane, and her daughter, Donna Kay Salmane, and Julie's husband's nephew, Eric Wild and wife, living in Punta Gorda, Florida.
There will be no local services. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

John Rex King Sr., 73, of Bradenton died May 12, 2004. There are no local services.
He is survived by three daughters, Tammie, Terri, Beth; one son, Billy; one sister, Crystal; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Thomas "Sid" Kirkland of Palmetto died May 11, 2004, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Myakka City, Mr. Kirkland was a lifetime resident of Manatee County. He retired as a First Class Lineman at Peace River Electric Company after 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member and Deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church, a member of Manatee Masonic Lodge No. 31, Bradenton, Scottish Rite Valley of Tampa and Sahib Shrine Center, Sarasota.
Survivors include fiance, Irene Ammons, Tampa; daughters, Debra A. Kirkland, Parrish, Tammy Dyce, Palmetto; step-daughter, Lauren Hughes, Seffner, Fla.; brother, Henry Kirkland, Mulberry, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Jean G. Kraybill, Bradenton
Jean G. Kraybill of Bradenton, Florida, died Monday, May 10th, at Blake Medical Center.
Jean was born to Lucille and Henry Gilbert, in Birmingham, Michigan, on July 30, 1922. She graduated from Purdue University and was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. While at Purdue, she met her husband, Richard, and they were married August 8, 1945. A nursery school teacher at the Cranbrook Institute, she later volunteered in educational and church activities, in Rochester, N.Y., where she and her family lived for over 30 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by brother John H. Gilbert of Illinois; daughters Mary (Fred) Allen of Iowa, Virginia (Dan) Patgos of New York, Anne (Valentins) Krecko of Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Kraybill of Clearwater. She is survived by seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Landings, Freedom Village Living Community, on Friday, May 14th at 10:30 a.m. Officiating minister will be Dan Hagemaier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Griffith Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
